I have always loved Wahoos Fish House. We sat at the empty bar and the bartender greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for a chocolate martini. Delicious. He got the usual but I don't remember what it was. He said it went down easily. I decided we would share the garlic shrimp flatbread. There was so much cheese on it, it was outstanding. We were able to bring a few slices home with us. I was full and he decided to get the coconut shrimp. I did not try it but he said it was outstanding. Would I come back here? You know I will. Anniversary dinner last night at Wahoo's Fish House was great. We arrived a little early and were able to get a seat on the patio with a good view of the marsh. Our server was over to get our drink orders and then back out to us quickly. She went through the chef's specials and the fresh catches and asked if we needed more time. We ordered a bowl of She Crab soup to start. We decided on the broiled scallops over stone ground grits for my wife and I had the broiled halibut with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Meals came out in the appropriate time and they were hot, fresh, and the portions were ample. Well seasoned and a good overall flavor. Nice place that we will visit again. read more

We love going to outdoor restaurants/bars and the vibe that the bartenders create makes or breaks a place. All I can say is it's a good thing that they can get good bands like Julio and the Saltines to play there because without that, we would never go. Leeann and Tony act like they hate their jobs, hate tourists and are bothered to have to wait on you. Although, if you are a local, then you are treated with respect, kindness and promptness. I actually heard LeeAnn tell a guy "that's not going to make me any faster" when she was taking her time with the locals and ignoring the tourists. Luckily we made friends fast with some locals and were served quickly but the attitude just killed the vibe for me. Sorry Wahoos but you can do better. The food was delicious, I had the Scallops with grits and asparagus. Scallops were cooked perfectly, the cheesy grits tasty, the asparagus was definitely Al dente and could have stayed on the grill a little longer. Came for the 6th MarshWalk restaurant week special. The appetizer biscuit was underbaked and and the crab filling tasted fishy. The watermelon salad had had only 3 teeny tiny tasteless pieces of watermelon in it. The lobster was stringy and overcooked. I almost broke my tooth on pieces of shell. Stopped by for lunch on a stormy day. It's a really nice looking restaurant with a cool "ship" bar. They just opened so we got a great seat right at the windows overlooking the boats and water. Fried green tomato app was delish and would definitely get that again. Disappointing. I think this is a solid place for drinks, music and some non-seafood related apps. Skip dinner We ordered raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, peel shrimp, sushi roll, Crab cake and grilled fish. None of us finished it I'm a native FL and semi-local. I know good fresh seafood and this wasn't it. Oysters-raw had so much of the shell in it we ate only half of them bc every bite was crunchy. Cocktail days was bland Oysters Rockefeller-not sure what was going on here but it just didn't taste fresh. Maybe frozen spinach? We couldn't figure out what it was but we didn't eat all of them Shrimp- hard to peel =old. Also had forbidden black spots on shells. No one got sick but they just weren't good. Ate half just bc we were all tasting and trying to find something we liked. Crab cake-mostly flavorless stuffing-very little crab Fish- overseasoned all around. Fish and mashed potatoes were so salty it was inedible and left most of it. No one wants to pay $26 per dish and leave half of it x 5 ppl. We should have noticed this was the only place not busy on a Fri night at the marsh walk. Such a shame. Great location. Great drinks. Great music. Just needs a new chef and food supplier. read more

We were told by some locals to check out wahoos fish house, we were already at dead dog and we walked the inlet marsh walk and ran into this bar at the end. It had live entertainment and looked like a fun place so we stopped by. In the picture of two drinks on this review you'll find the I let mai tai and the strawberry lemon drop martini. The one on the left is Inlet mai tai and the one on the right is a strawberry lemon drop martini which seems to be a Myrtle beach specialty. The decor / ambiance of the place was very Beach-like, tropical tiki sort of vibes. The singer was singing reggae, and he did it quite well actually! We were surprised, it sounded super authentic. The live music makes this venue an 8 out of 10, but the food was okay. The she crab soup was good on the first bite, but the more I ate the less I liked it. Probably a 3.5 out of 10. The hot crab dip had delicious bread and I liked the dip. Something was a little sour in it but I still liked it. I'd probably order it again. The shrimp and grits were really good. I like the texture of the sauce with the grits. The shrimp were large and plentiful. The addition of the bacon was what made the flavor stand out. 7.5 out of 10. We stopped in based off a recommendation and boy that was a great recommendation! We came on a Sunday evening at 6pm and had zero wait. Our server, Camryn, was very friendly and attentive. My partner ordered the Tips and Tail, and while the risotto needed some salt and the steak was a little salty, they all balanced well together and had great flavor. I ordered the fried shrimp platter, my step son had the chicken tenders and my son had the Godfather Roll. All of our food was good. I would highly recommend! read more

We had the good fortune to stop at Wahoo's for a light dinner and enjoyed a couple specialty sushi rolls - the Wahoo Roll and Sunset Roll - a beer and a very good Key Lime Pie that our excellent server, Richard, recommended for dessert. We enjoyed all this on the patio facing the Marshwalk and the full moon was shining on the water in front of us. In addition to good food, a lovely setting and excellent service, we really enjoyed the guitarist / vocalist entertainment. Service and alfredo was good, however, the filet mignon was horrible. It looked boiled and white. We requested for it to be remade and it was brought out looking the exact same. Party of four tonight. Sat rather quickly and drinks are flowing. Two of us went with the fresh Grouper special which was awesome. I had the Salmon over grits and shrimp and the wife had a filet mignon, she didn't care for it too much. Seemed like a bad cut...very veiny. Yuck! Would not recommend trying to go when they're busy. After being told it would only be a few more minutes for our table they gave it away to another party that was AFTER us in the queue? We waited 45 minutes - hour on the wait list. Yet after being offered a booth that didn't work for a highchair, they said they'd have a table in 2 minutes that would accommodate a high chair. We were waiting at the host stand for it to be cleaned, when we were told by hostess they HAD to give the table to another party because the lady was demanding the table. I was told she was AFTER us in queue and yet the hostess was giving away our table despite our arguments. I was standing there 9 months pregnant holding my 3 year old.... Waiting my turn for an hour, yet a party of grown a** adults couldn't wait a few more minutes for another table. Our family will never be back. Went down to Dead dog instead with a great waitress and fast service, Definitely check them out instead, they fit us in immediately after we walked out of Wahoos. read more

Ordered take out today and it was packaged and presented well. Our meals were very good ! I had the blackened deep sea scallops and grits over asparagus. The scallops and shrimp were huge and delicious. The asparagus was cooked perfect except for two of my pieces had hard white ends that I had to remove myself. We also ordered the shrimp and grits which my husband said was delicious and the crab dip was also very good . We also ordered the shrimp and pasta with marinara sauce and my sons loved his dish. One of the best meals we had while visiting the area. Husband had fried seafood plate which he enjoyed and I had 1/2 dozen cold boiled shrimp best I've had in area. I was happy they had Moscato and husband enjoyed margaritas. Sat inside with excellent water views and saw some wildlife that my granddaughter enjoyed. Service was on point and very friendly. My experience was actually awful. I really wanted to enjoy this place. My boyfriend and I came to the outside bar area for drinks and music on a Saturday. We went to the bar and gave the bartender our ID's for drinks. She looked at my boyfriend and asked if he was SLED or a cop (he responded neither, of course). We were both confused by why she would ask this. She looked at him and said "Don't look at me like I'm f***ing stupid, I was going to do you a favor and make your drink anyways." He is well over the drinking age and has never had any issue. We had no idea that having an ID with a slight tear in the laminate makes it invalid. I can't speak for the restaurant, but the outside bar service was awful. I have never felt more unwelcome. read more

That was quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I've had in the last ten years. It is hard to describe how horrible it was. Let's start with the drinks. My Manhattan that had no vermouth and was half filled. So our server took it back to the bar and asked about the deficient pour. We were informed that this was the standard serving. Note to self. Never again. When the server came back, I asked her intentionally what 16 oz beers they poured and she informed me that they only pour one size. I held my breath and thank the Lord I actually got a pint. So after not seeing our server for a very long time, after the waters were drained, our meal finally arrived. I should have had water because it would have hydrated the halibut that I ordered blackened. That damn fish must have been thirsty because it was totally dried out. But on a positive note, the spinach and asparagus were excellent - so if you're vegetarian, you'll love it! Well, after I choked down the dry fish, the sushi arrived. To be fair they warned us that the sushi may come later, but after dessert? We ordered 3 rolls, which all came on 1 plate, without soy or wasabi. When we asked for another plate so we could split the rolls up, they gave us a dirty one. Anyway, they say good things come in small packages, which was certainly true for the $17 specialty roll. Good thing the dried out halibut filled me up. And then the bill came. Wow. I'm taking out a second mortgage. Totally overpriced. It was a total ripoff, aside from the joy I've gotten while writing this Yelp review. I'm a local - never again. Let the tourists enjoy it. read more

We have been here numerous times and had a fantastic time. The bands are awesome. But tonight the service was horrible. We had dinner and asked for the bill to be split when we ordered. As it was New Year's Eve. We sat at a table and had drinks. When we got our bill the waitress Victoria said we could t split the bill. Well after much discussion we were able to split the bill. But after loo koi ng at our bill we noticed she added "floaters" to drinks that were not asked for. Then charged us over $25 for a margarita. Insane.
