"Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer Those days…read moreof soda and pretzels and beer" (Nat King Cole) As of October 2025, there are 243 Philly Pretzel Factory locations across the United States, predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic states of PA, NJ, and NY. I was unfamiliar with the chain, probably because none of those locations are in CT. In fact, the one in Worcester I visited today is 61 miles away, and after checking the website I learned that it's the closest one to me. As you might expect, the Philly Pretzel Factory sells various permutations and variations of the traditional "soft" Philadelphia pretzel. You can buy anywhere from a single pretzel ($1.50) to a 50-count box ($40), plus pretzel dogs, pretzel sausages, pepperoni pretzel melts, and mini pretzel logs (known as Rivets) either plain or with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. We ordered a single pretzel and a small cup of Rivets with cinnamon, and our choice of a dip ranging from sweets (Candy Cane, Cookies and Cream, etc.) to savories (cheese, marinara, four mustards). Our cup of Rivets ($5.50) with a Butter Cream dip was fantastic. The thing we both noticed about the pretzels, was they weren't greasy at all, like their shopping mall and highway rest stop competitor's products are. Our server Alex was friendly and engaging and we enjoyed chit-chatting with him. He told us that pretzels can be customized into pretty much any desired shape, so that explained why we saw Christmas wreath and Christmas tree pretzels. PRO TIP If you happen to visit a location in PA, NJ, or DE, make sure you do that during the NFL season on a day the Philadelphia Eagles win their game. That will enable you to take advantage of their "Birds Bogo" offer where you get ten pretzels for the cost of five.

I didn't get swept into the toppings, I just wanted a plain ol' Philly pretzel with lots of salt. It was the right shape, texture, density and taste. It was delicious! Impressive contrast between the patty's crusted exterior and still-juicy interior. Arguably overdone on the outside, but I'll take that all day every day as long as the juiciness is there. Moderate amount of butter on the Texas toast standing in for rye. Somewhat-traditional condiments, but with a few liberties taken (caramelized onion, cheddar jack, bacon). Not elite, but solid enough job and probably among the better patty melts I've had on my recent quest. -- CH Cheeseburger: Tried twice, this wasn't just a good cheeseburger for the 'burbs or a good cheeseburger for a brewery. This is a good cheeseburger, period, and a very good one. The first thing I really like about it is that it's a thick, full-size patty, and not the overexposed smashburger that's made the thick ones nearly extinct. The second is that they understand and deliver on the concept of textural contrast: crusty exterior and pink, very juicy interior. They also season it just enough to notice, butter that griddled bun just enough to notice, and don't screw up the vegetable additions. The cheese is there but unremarkable. The bun is soft and flexible. Overall, one of the best burgers in MetroWest and Worcester. -- Fries: The frozen variety, neither great nor horrific. They got the job done. -- Beer: I like their offerings, led by their flagship Juice Freak, served properly in attractive glassware. I have other breweries with beers I love, but none of them has a burger I love, and I'm already falling in love with this one. Service was excellent every time, once at a table and twice at the bar. Note: If you use Siri to get directions here by name rather than address, she'll tell you that they've closed, but that's because they moved recently. They're open.

We came pretty late around 11pm because we just finished watching an orchestra at the Hanover Theater. Surprisingly, they're open late. I wanted to leave a review for Planet Smoothie, but they didn't have a yelp page, so might as well leave one for the business in the same place. I got the dragon fruit lemon splash, and it's really good. Sweet and sour, almost like a candy smoothie. Compared to a place like Tropical Smoothie, Planet Smoothie drinks are way sweeter. Still delicious though. The guy who made our smoothies looked super drained and tired and just hurriedly asked us what we wanted. I'm not gonna give him any trouble for that because I understand how draining and tiring a food service job is. But we asked for medium and the cup he gave us was huge like McDonald's large HUGE. So not sure if he just gave that size for the heck of it, or because the medium IS that big. Do note that if you want to order pretzels or ice cream, you have to go to the register assigned to that specific franchise. You can't order from all franchises on one register. Overall, still a good place. Might come back to try acai or a pretzel.

She came back 3 times getting each beer incorrect and even sniffed a beer to try to remember! The food order never came out and that was the last straw! The staff was very passive aggressive. The record reflects that this brewery has been open for only 3 weeks. We didn't have high expectations because new breweries pop up everywhere, but let the verdict show I rated 3 of 4 beers I sampled a 4+ on UnTapped. The two head brewers were working hard. They were friendly and eager to engage with the courtroom patrons. The Worcester Mayor was even spotted on site!l (busted!) We approached the bench (bar) and ordered a flight to sample their 4 beers. There are currently 3 IPAs and a red ale. I don't typically enjoy red ales, but "Strict Scrutiny" was actually the favorite! I don't have any objection at this time. The atmosphere is the opposite of the cold scary courtroom, no judge is demanding silence. Acoustics are a little echoey, but it's packed so that is a good thing. Please remain standing, I am still under oath. The courthouse theme is reflected on the wall "you've been served" as well as on the beer tanks which are named after female Supreme Court justices! Poll the jury, and don't let the free pretzels sway your decision. We will definitely be back if I make bail. I have no further questions. I rest my case.
