The bon bons were lovely and light, so presumably not just haggis, if there were only a couple more said the greedy me, but they had a great flavour and the whisky mustard cream sauce was about as good a "british" sauce as I can remember having. It packed a ton of flavour. The venison came served on mash and a gravy, and with a side of buttered veg. Again everything combined beautifully. The mash was creamy, the sauce flavourful and the venison was cooked perfectly medium-rare, it was soft and delicious. The veg was al dente as most cheffie veg is these days, presumably to keep the goodness in. There was almost nothing not to like as far as I was concerned.

The menu is varied & pleasing to both the eye and the wallet. We both had burgers, my wife choosing a double burger tower , with myself ordering a spinach & falafel burger, both with delicious hand cooked fries and salad. All meals are freshly made on site, but with perfect company & a wonderful view to soak up, the wait seemed momentary. Everything about the Boathouse is warm and inviting. We also shared a giant endless pot of tea. This place is really a special place, the day's menu is full of charm, and the service is excellent.
