First time at this restaurant / bar, housed within the Dalziel Park Hotel. Sunday lunch was the idea and they just about delivered.
Plenty of options available in the 2 courses for £12.95 menu ( I hate when you only get a couple of choices on a fixed price menu, feels a bit mean! ). I opted for the Prawn Cocktail, followed by the Ham and Pea risotto. The better half decided on the Mozzarella sticks and the Fish and Chips. If I'm being picky, the risotto was made with long grain rice and should really have been more tasty given the amount of ham in it, but it was certainly passable. The Prawn cocktail was very good. The sauce was defo homemade and the addition of the crispy toasts was a good little twist on the usual combo.
The lady friend confirmed that both her courses were very tasty, so I'll take her word on that! Only one real complaint: it's February, turn the heating up folks! It could certainly have been a bit warmer where we were seated but that's the only real gripe.
We will definitely go back, but might wait til the chilly weather is past! read more
