Day 2 of our golf trip. Really nice conditions on the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Good check in service, carts a bit pricey at 25.00 per rider. Green fees for a twilight were good at $59. Went off as a 2, with a foursome in front. One dude played back tees and hit more tree mail than fairways and prolly shot 100. Painful to watch. A lot of target golf but worth it. Tight tree lined fairways. Had a really fun time. read more

Beautiful course. We played here as a party of 4; with carts the cost came to $380 I recall. A little spendy, but if you're looking to enjoy a premier course in Bend this is it. If you're not a good player, like me, you will find this course difficult and challenging. 3 of us struggled, lost LOTS of balls in the many, many hazards. So we just tried to enjoy the beauty as we racked up snowman after snowman (i.e. 8 on a par 4). Not forgiving at all. Greens were in fine shape, and I loved the challenging slopes and angles, since you dont see that on the cheap courses I usually play. Carts ran great, friendly staff, driving range. Surprisingly you dont get any free range balls with the hefty greens fees. I'd play here again if I ever manage to get better. read more

Upgrading to five stars. Widgi Creek continues to excel with respect to the course and facilities (see original review) but with the COVID-19 situation, they've upped their game a notch. You can play a round without violating social distancing protocols at all. Online booking is now all it takes to get on the course - you don't need to go into the clubhouse to check in and they have a starter at the first tee to ensure orderly play. Widgi Creek is my favorite course in Central Oregon. read more

Widgi Creek GOLFING is a terrific experience. The golf course is GREAT and allows a wide choice of tees. Each hole was interesting in its own way and made you want to come back! The Marshalls were friendly and the Bar/Snack Bar person was terrific as well. I was shocked (really!) at the attitude of the starter and that is cause for the three stars. First, he never made us feel welcome, never asked if we had golf here before to give us any tips. the We were going to buy some water from snack bar before our tee time but the starter noted in a peculiar uppity tone, that there was cart service on the course; there was not. Our GPS was not working at the first tee box, but the other golf carts were already working. When I asked the starter, quite politely (of course), how to to turn it on, he said we were not on the course and it would turn on when we got on the course (like standing on the first tee is not on the course?). So after we hit our shots, it was not working about 100 yards from the green, so I quickly turned out and asked him for help. He was belligerent and rude insisting it would turn on. Finally on the 2nd hole a Marshall came by and on the third hole, they swapped our cart. Now, stuff like this happens. but I have never in 20 years of golfing experienced a starter of this caliber. Just not worthy of this fine course! read more

Arrived before my Tee time today that was made by phone on Wednesday and waited while the golfer ahead of me checked in. i checked in and paid $140 which I assumed was for myself and my golf partner. Heading down the stairs to the cart I asked the fellow who paid ahead of me just how much his green fee was. he said $40 AND said he booked online. my partner arrived and was called into the pro shop and was billed another $140. we were told that if you booked online you got the $40 green fee. I felt an extra $100 to book by phone was way out of line. we could have played at Pronghorn and paid less. We really loved the layout of the greens. However a lot of them weren't in the best shape. But they are big with lots of undulations. It's a challenging course, not real long but rewards shotmaking. Beautifully laid out in the trees with some water and lots of immaculate sand. We did very much enjoy playing there. Unfortunately they don't have a restaurant as of right now. read more

I came for a lesson with Richard Clifton. The grounds are well kept; nice practice facility with large putting greens, chip areas, and a driving range that allows Drivers. Richard is an excellent teacher, gave me some simple things to work on to try for my swing. The lesson was very reasonably priced. It was a good experience and I will be coming back for another lesson. read more

DISCLAIMER: I am not a golf fanatic. You know how some people go to parties "for the food"? Well, I play golf for the beer and for the cigars. And also because my boyfriend is an avid and MAD-talented golfer. So what you are going to read here is a non-golfer's review of a golf course. What's pretty, what's not, and any other random thoughts that come to mind. If you want a technical evaluation of a golf course, including whether the tee boxes are level (apparently that's important)... this is NOT the review for you. I suggest you read the other reviews here (if there are any) or go buy one of those fancy-schmancy golf magazines. K? K!! Spring has sprung, which means the golf courses are opening back up. Frankly, just driving past Widgi Creek Golf Course on Century Drive makes me feel slightly seasick. It's covered with little rolling hills, but overall is one of the "flatter" courses in Central Oregon. (No long drives straight down hill, or long walks back up!) Their spring special is a great bargain though. Thirty clams will get you 18 holes any time, any day of the week. So if you just can't wait for the season to officially begin... bundle up and hit the links! read more

Widgi is a really nice course, very walkable by my standards and not so technically difficult as to frustrate the average golfer. And I am pretty average. We have taken advantage of the unlimited golf for $29 a couple of times and that is a tremendous value. It's not one of our more frequently played local courses but that's more to do with location; if we lived in Bend or if it were nearer to Redmond we would probably visit more than 3 or 4 times per year. read more

Came here for a round of golf. Unfortunately we only made it through 3 holes due to a family emergency. Paul from the Pro Shop was really understanding and gave us a voucher for the remaining holes we were unable to play. As for the course, this was the first time my husband and I have played here and the holes we did play were very well maintained. I'm sure when we play here again next week this will end up being our favorite course in Bend! Thank you Paul for making a tough situation easier. Went here to play Twilight golf. After 5:30pm you can play as long as you can for $25. Now, I love golf but I'm not so good. If I break 100 1st rounds on me! The course is beautiful, the greens are super Tough and they have a very nice bar and patio. They have good beers on tap and the bartenders are extremely friendly. I would definitely play here again, maybe after I work on my putting... BTW: the ladies restroom in the clubhouse has a bidet! =) read more

We were vacationing and decided to play a round of golf and chose Widgi Creek. It is a beautiful course with mature trees and green fairways. It was a nice, challenging course that gave some forgiveness but required precision shots at certain points. The one downside was that the greens were hard, but not cut very short so it was hard to keep the ball on the green and then you had to crush it to have any chance of making a putt. read more

Played for the first time last week .Course has some holes that make you think about clubs , wind and laying up . Was in perfect condition and had a 3 1/2 hour round early Saturday morning. Will definitely play again . Friendly staff also . read more

This course is beautifully manicured. Every blade of grass was cut perfectly and the tightness of the fairways demanded accurate drives. The greens were soft and would check up nicely so you could land the ball and stick it where you wanted to. The fairways were a pleasure to hit from. The rough was long enough enough to make it interesting and the wild areas made it not only scenic and beautiful, but a pain to hit from. I would definitely recommend this as a stop on your own personal tour. Enjoy! read more

I just want to give a big shout out to Widgi Creek Golf Club for their amazing customer service. I live in California but my dad lives in Bend and he really likes playing this golf course, so for the last 2 years for father's day I have called the pro shop and got a gift certificate for him to play a round of golf there and then they they mail it to my dad for me. This year, I spoke to John, who took care of me and was very friendly and helpful on the phone. I really appreciate that extra step of them mailing it to my dad for me since I cant purchase the certificate in person. My dad loves the course and always has an enjoyable time playing golf there, so thank you Widgi Creek for taking care of us. It is much appreciated! read more

Widgi is a fantastic course. The green fees are very reasonable and the course is quite challenging. Not so challenging in the fact that you will lose a case of balls. You can still score if a decent golfer. I wouldn't recommend walking, (there are some hilly holes) but you could if ambitious enough. The course is kept in great shape and has some really fun holes. Give it a shot if playing in central Oregon. read more

Hey just traveling through on a buddy golf tour and hooked up with an Alaskan expat who recently moved to the cosmic hamlet of Bend and he has never played your course. Anyway I have two suggestions: better signage as to where the next tee box is and a course map on your score card. The pin placement emphasis is so retro. Everyone has a rangefinder. With the map on the card you solve both of my complaints. read more

Well, I am a golfer (10 hdcp) & this is a great course for the money. I thought it was so nice I played it twice. I believe the green fees are $68 w/cart. The best layout, design and challenging course in the Bend, Sunriver area. What I like best is their putting greens. Most of the greens are new and fast (11-13 stimp) & generally not a flat putt anywhere. The fairways were also in excellent condition. This week we also played Lost Tracks (ok), Quail Run (not worth playing) & Woodlands/Sunriver (poor condition). Our next visit we will play Meadows/Sunriver and River's Edge to see how they compare to Widgi. read more

This has been on of out most favorite courses in the Bend area. We golf there every year. This year however was an exception and we hope not the trend. We had 2 T times for two foresomes. We started at 8:15 am. By the 8th hole the Marshall asked us to speed up our pace. We told him the group ahead of us (our other 4some had just left the green. And when we looked back no one was pushing us. By the 10th T we never saw any one behind us. For the amount we paid $96.00 per person I was pretty upset that was were asked to speed up play and we were not the cause of any slow down. We probably will choose another course next year. Since during our time here we play 3 to 4 rounds with 8 to 12 people. read more

I played in this course when traveling through and enjoyed it so much! The course is meticulously maintained in its top condition. It's challenging and fun. The staffs are very warm and friendly - starting from lady at the entrance to greet us, the gentleman in the pro-shop and the roving marshal. I left behind the wedge on the 18th hole and only found out when I was playing at another course a few hundred miles away. I called them and they acknowledged the finding and graciously agreed to ship it to my home address. Now the club has arrived. Thank you! And thanks to the player who found the club! read more

This is my favorite track in Central Oregon. The staff is great the course is challenging, especially in late season when they have the greens dialed in and rolling fast. It is on the affordable side for Bend if there was such a thing. read more

Yesterday was beautiful and I was excited for a round of golf at Widgi Creek in the sunshine. The course is in good shape, but they didn't have a Marshall on the course and it ended up being a FIVE hour round! Throw in the decision by Widgi to NOT have a beverage cart out on such a warm beautiful day, and it was very disappointing. I expected better from a course that I've heard so many good things about. read more
