When I arrived, I had my two-year-old with me in a stroller. She was calm, quiet, and watching a movie completely unbothering anyone. The salon itself was nearly empty, with only one other client present. Instead of being welcomed, I was immediately met with a very cold and judgmental attitude from the front desk. I was looked up and down, along with my stroller, and told in a very rude and inflexible manner that children were not allowed and that I would either need to leave or reschedule. As a mother, it is not always easy to find time for self-care, and I made the effort to come in for this appointment. The lack of empathy or basic courtesy was honestly shocking. There was zero attempt to accommodate, problem-solve, or even speak kindly. To make matters worse, I was charged $75 (50% of the service) simply for having to leave despite the fact that the situation could have been handled with basic human decency and flexibility. I do want to note that Desi, the hairstylist, did try to be kind while witnessing the way I was being treated, and I appreciate that. I understand this situation was not her fault. However, the overall customer service and experience are a direct reflection of the business she represents. This was the first time I've ever experienced something like this at a salon. I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and frankly, discriminated against for being a mother. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon especially to other moms. There are plenty of places that treat clients with respect, kindness, and understanding. This was not one of them.

I was very upset, and asked what could be done and was not given any options. All she said was She felt so bad. So I had to make her feel better after what happened to my hair. I cannot find a salon that will touch my hair for color or anything due to how damaged my hair is. I am told I must wait a long time to let it heal. (Anything is better than me doing my hair) Iris contacted me before I arrived via text (my favorite way to get a message) and went over what I wanted and provided suggestions on the type of hair to purchase. When I arrived I was greeted and my temperature was taken. The shop is small and has a store front as soon as you walk in which carries several hair care products and hair. Which if you think about it is genius!!! Iris was finishing up a client and told me she would be with me in a moment, I sat down and read. It only took about 10 minutes or so and I was in the chair. Iris and I reviewed what we wanted to do. She was cheerful, easy going and asked questions regarding my goals and event. We settled on a style and she got to work. I got a braided hairstyle with added hair, she was very gentle and the style not only was cute but wasn't super stiff and looked very natural. I was very pleased with the outcome. One more note! I am chatty and like a stylist who engages me in conversation. Iris was easy to talk to and the other people in the salon were so nice! If I lived in Tampa, this may be my spot. Damaris is so friendly and personable. She really pays attention to my hair needs and will make recommendations accordingly. I have Alopecia Areata and an Autoimmune Thyroid condition so I deal with hair shedding/fall-out and texture issues from time to time. She has helped to make my hair look healthy, full, and shiny. My needs are usually very simple. Long hair with gray root coverage. Although I did have balayage for several years. It looked really nice, but I use infrared saunas often and it can sometimes be drying to the hair so I've let the balayage grow out since. Whatever your hair needs are, give Damaris a try. You will not be disappointed. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
