The onion rings are the really thinly sliced, almost "straws" they were fine, I was worried they might be soggy, but they were not, they tend to be a little saltier than normal onion rings so just be prepared. I like it just fine that way. I asked my cheeseburger, medium, and it was medium, char-grilled as opposed to griddle cooked. It was properly seasoned and came with a dill pickle spear. Everything was delicious. prices were reasonable and affordable. It wasn't fancy or mind-blowing, but it was very solid, tasty bar food. I will certainly go back there sometime when I'm driving by the town.

We were stoked to try it based on all of the rave reviews. Alas, this is the dish that most drop the rating for us. The calamari pieces were very small, very tough and the batter blew off. Weirdly, it showed up so close to our ordering it that I wondered if something was wrong. Was the oil so hot that the usual cook time was now too long? We're they trying a new vendor and these very small pieces cooked WAY to fast. In any case, I suggest they relook at the quality control on that dish. Below I send a photo of all the batter that fell off in the serving dish. It was a nice sized order and tasted like very good rubbery, miniature calamari. My husband ordered the pork chop and it was delicious. It was so moist and I didn't know whether that was due to brining, sous vide, bone in, or just the best preparation I've ever had. And his plate was full of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Couldn't have been happier. I had the walleye (only on Fridays) and it was a beautiful, thick fillet cooked to perfection. I like that their plates had a starch and a vegetable; kind of like the restaurant days of old. No nickel and diming the customer with ordering all your sides. This is a full bodied Bavarian style. A lot of the food is meaty. Brisket and that kind of stuff. Among the appetizers is the Cowboy Caviar. One of the few vegetarian options. This is a mixture of beans, cilantro, corn, jalapeños, red onions, and tomatoes. It's about $16 for the Tex-Mex Bowl. This has avocado, cilantro rice, Cowboy Caviar, marinated cucumbers, pico de gallo, and Thai sauce. Of course an option is to get it with meats added. There's plenty more things including burgers and pork belly tacos among the livestock based foods. For around here it's one of the better places for big crowds.
