That was a pretty smooth espresso martini for $14 (Photo 10). Actually the official name of the cocktail is Do You Make Espresso Martinis? because people wouldn't expect a whiskey distillery to offer one. However, Wigle does because they produce a wide array of spirits beyond whiskey like the vodka and coffee liqueur in this mix. I depended on YouTube travel vloggers to point me in the direction of this popular distillery bar and cafe in the Strip District. The place was bustling in the middle of the afternoon, and I was lucky to secure the last stool at the bar. The espresso martini drew my eye, and I thought I should have a snack to go with it. I ordered the $12 Devil's Eggvocate. Four deviled egg halves were topped with smoked paprika, pickled jalapeño slices, and bacon jam made with their own coffee liqueur (Photo 9). It was a bit top heavy for me, but then I never reject a deviled egg. If I wasn't driving, I might've considered trying a whiskey tasting, but it just wasn't in the cards. COCKTAIL / FOOD - 4 stars...smooth martini, over-the-top deviled eggs AMBIANCE - 4 stars...crowded but the bar was fine SERVICE - 3.5 stars...seemed understaffed TOTAL - 4 stars...worth having a taste and not just whiskey RELATED - Exploring Pittsburgh? Found this is drafts and forgot to post. Stopped in for a quick snack before the baseball game. Service was kinda slow, it wasn't the best experience. The cheese tax 9/10 Cheese was great. wasn't a fan of them with the bbq so we got ranch for dipping too.

The flights at the bar are very reasonably priced and nice pours for sharing.

My review is primarily based on the whiskey, it is definitely top notch, 10 out of 10 whiskey. The flavors across the board were unique and special. From straight to cask strength, flavored to canned, Wigle Whiskey takes their products seriously. We stopped in for a tasting and sat at the bar for a flight. Sadly, the bartenders are seriously lacking in both personality and knowledge of the products. No interaction from either of them and unable to answer some of the basic questions we had. We are avid distillery visitors across the country, we love the product and the mastery of it. Thank goodness for Nick and Braxton, they were the definite pros the night we were there. Nick was working in the store area and had full knowledge of everything on the shelves, no question was too hard and his friendliness had us forgetting our lackluster start! Nick even grabbed the manager and got us in on the final half of a tour, what a treat that was! Braxton not only quickly caught us up without skipping a beat but then spent extra time telling us the history and vision of Wigle. Our server on the tour, wish I had his name, was phenomenal, he created the perfect ending to our experience. Thoroughly impressed, we are definitely now huge Wigle fans and will continue buying the products!

Great variety of distilled spirits and craft cocktails made with their own spirits distilled on site. They offer tours and tastings that are informative and provides multiple opportunities to sample the product. .

Had a great experience on the whiskey tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was great to learn about Pittsburgh's history in regard to whiskey production and to be able to support a local business!

Stopped here recently for some drinks and apps. The setup makes for a good spot to stop during the warmer months, with part of the bar being outside. Shawn was our server and was awesome. He kept the bar lively and fun the whole time we were there. The drinks he made us were all fresh and delicious. My wife and I split buffalo chicken dip. It was one of the best I have ever had. It had a different consistency and flavor than traditional buffalo chicken dip, but it was great.

Wigle Whiskey has a new pop up, Stars, Stripes, & Spirits! They had really fun themed cocktails and my favorites were the Rocket Pop and Smashed Strawberry Lemonade. I haven't had a corn dog in forever and was so excited that they have classic food offerings like corn dogs and fried oreos. Our bartenders were super nice and efficient. The only thing I didn't love is that in the distillery side room there's only two AC units that couldn't keep up so they just opened the doors and all the hot air came in and unfortunately I run on the hot side. Hopefully that won't be the case in the future. The grand opening is TODAY (June 27th) and it only runs for three weekends through July 12th so get there while you can!

While visiting Pittsburgh, a friend and I scheduled the Wigle Distillery Tour. It started with a welcome cocktail. We got to spend an incredible hour with Gayle learning about Pittsburgh history and the history of Mr. Wigle. To say the tour was amazing would be an understatement. We had 6 people on the tour, but Gayle made each of us feel special. Her passion for Whiskey was on full display. We got to sample 6 different products during the tour (my favorite was the cinnamon whiskey) and afterwards you could have a sample of any other product. You also got 25% off a bottle or anything in the gift shop. We popped to the gift shop and chatted with Olivia who gave us some recommendations before Gayle stopped by to say goodbye one more time. If you are coming through Pittsburgh and are in the Strip District you have to come take the tour. And tell Gayle we say hello :)

Located in the Strip District, Wigle Whiskey has a bar and restaurant and then offers an amazing tour and tasting experience every Saturday. They take you through their process, from using locally sourced grain to crafting award-winning rye, bourbon, gin, rum, and more. One of the highlights? Learning about Pittsburgh's Whiskey Rebellion--a wild and pivotal moment in U.S. history. The storytelling makes the experience even more immersive! The tour includes a spirit tasting, and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Wigle's craft. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or just looking for something unique to do, this tour is 10/10!

My first time eating at Wigle and since the renovation. A really nice dining area now and the food was really good. The drinks were fantastic - whiskey sour and espresso martini! The cheese curd was delicious with barbecue dipping sauce, which I never would have thought! The eggplant sandwich had a nice spicy kick and the eggplant was grilled tender. I've already been back after taking a cocktail class!

The events manager at this venue may be the worst in the city. Bad service. Bad management. Bad ownership. Avoid at all costs.

The Open Road is here in the up-and-coming Garfield neighborhood to help supply sober and sober curious people, and really anyone interested in cutting back on alcohol or supporting someone who is, with delicious beverages that help you feel like you're not missing out on a thing. There are nonalcoholic beers, spirit-free versions of things like gin, bourbon, bitters and truly anything else you might need to make yourself alcohol free drinks at home. There are also pre-canned and bottled options where you don't have to do any of the work, nonalcoholic wine and bubbly, functional beverages with added benefits, the amount of choice is nearly overwhelming in the best possible way. I have bought from them a number of times throughout the year at various pop-ups but this was my first visit to the shop and of course won't be my last. BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for
