Their new space is just gorgeous! Did you have any doubt it wouldn't be? I didn't. Literally everything they do, they do it carefully and you can tell, they do their research. The space is 1/3 front bar and lounge, 1/3 small whiskey museum and 1/3 back bar and restaurant. The expanded front area of the distillery houses a beautiful bar, lounge and retail area. It's truly gorgeous. I am no whiskey offianado, and Wigle was actually my first deep dive into whiskey, but I really enjoy the variety of spirits they've put out. Their cocktails are superb too. If you walk through the hallway to the back bar, you can walk through a little piece of Western PA whiskey history with various facts showcased on the walls. Seriously, did you think you'd ever drink and learn? I never did... But they do it in a fun and engaging way. The back bar and restaurant featured a cute little "pharmacy" type setup. There's also an open kitchen were they're serving a simple menu. I haven't eaten there yet, but I"m excited to sample the menu. I know they still have tours of their originally distillery in the back portion of the building, which you should do if you haven't yet! Went yesterday to check out their distillery and their products. The guy doing the tasting was nice, very knowledgeable and answered our questions. Nice atmosphere and they have a small parking lot which is nice based on their location. Worth the trip if you like unique craft distilleries. read more

Decided on a quick little date night here after work. Totally worth the drive back across town. It is so cutely decorated and laid out. I'm sure without covid restrictions, this place is buzzing. I was surprised to learn they opened this location literally as Covid was hitting and businesses were shutting down. What timing. I am so glad they have continued to make it work because as things open back up, we will be returning! The squash ricotta dip was just perfect. It was my girlfriends choice as soon as she saw it. It didn't catch my eye on the menu but I am so glad she ordered it. It was creamy and so flavorful. The bread was perfectly charred. The Apple bacon grilled cheese was HUGE! I shared and gave up half of the sandwich it was so large. It was greasy as expected considering it is a grilled cheese and had bacon. For the salad, I opted for the ginger ranch dressing, also a solid choice. I'm a ginger lover so I would've liked to have tasted the ginger come out more but it was good. It wouldn't be too overbearing for someone on the fence about ginger. I loved the large chunks of apples on the grilled sandwich. That is initially what had me sold on the sandwich choice. I think it would also go nicely with pears instead of apples. Cocktails were delicious. Smooth. Perfectly concocted. We will be returning!! Also Jake, our server was phenomenal. So we started with a tour. The tour was super fun and as a native Pittsburgh person it was fun to hear about local history that I didn't necessarily know. The whiskey is good and I think their pre-made cocktail bottles are interesting. We then ate in the restaurant and it was fantastic. The place is deceivingly big. So, don't get worried if the front room is full. Their menu is more foodie food, which is what my husband and I got for. I had a good time and it was a fun day date. Love Wigle! Not only do they have great cocktails they have good food too! The atmosphere inside is super cute and cozy. They do have limited seating but in summer they have a few tables outside as well. Very fun to sit out sip a drink and people watch! Staff is very friendly and helpful. The fine in area in Wiggle Whiskey is perfect for a low key night out. The area is beautifully finished with an excellent bar and modern layout and very comfortable. The cocktails heavily feature Wiggle's award winning whiskey and bourbons but also include options with spirits from other local distilleries and breweries. The drinks are exceptional and worth going for and the food is perfect for the scene. Meals are very reasonably priced and include modern twists on classic comfort foods. Portions are generous and everything comes out quickly. The pork chops are excellent for a starting snack and there are a ton of great plated meals and sandwiches to choose from. The menu rotates with specials so I am very much looking to come back for an old fashioned and a sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese! read more

Great distillery in a super trendy part of town! The only downfall is due to the pandemic there aren't many spots. There are like 4 or 5 tables outside and 2 inside. The The Sour Okren was perfect. I love a good egg white drink and this one delivered. I really enjoyed to maple and apple flavors, and the whisky itself was solid! We also got the Brussel Sprouts Salad. Wigle Whiskey Distillery was the best thing we did in Pittsburgh. It's an award winning (the most awarded craft whiskey distillery in the country!) family owned distillery near the Strip District near the water. My wife, baby and I went on a Saturday afternoon for a tour and tasting and had a great experience. Firstly, it's beautiful. It's a large distillery with their bottles on display as art. They have cocktails for sale as you wait for the tour. The tour was the best distillery tour I've ever been on. Our tour guide also does theater and kept us engaged in a non-annoying way. She kept it interesting, informative, and fun! She could also read the crowd and able to shift her tour according to our needs. The end of the tour included a full on tasting (chocolate was involved too). They were also friendly to our baby and allowed her on the tour. The staff were a delight! read more

We've passed this location many times, and I assumed that the seating visible from the street was all that was available. Today we decided to step inside (now that we can eat inside again), and I was very surprised to see that behind the bar and bottle shop was a lovely dining room. Though COVID restrictions have been reduced, social distancing and mask-wearing were still observed, so it was a relaxing experiencing. Cocktails were excellent. I was interested in their new rhubarb liquor, so I ordered the Rhubarbara Streisand (points deducted for the extra "a") and my husband ordered the blackberry daiquiri. Not only great drinks, but not extra small like you often get in other restaurants. Personally, if I'm dropping $10-$12 on a cocktail, I don't want it to disappear in two gulps. We were set to order sandwiches, but noticed another couple eating the Pulled Pork Chips and chose that off of the snack menu instead. It was delicious and kind of fun to eat. Our top favorites: Him: Old Fashioned Cocktail (in the bottle), cinnamon whiskey and gin. Her: Apple Whiskey, lemoncello and old fashioned cocktail. Wigle Whiskey has become my go-to spot for food and drinks in the Strip District. The unique food and beverage options make it one of my favorites. So far, I have only experienced the Strip District location during its brunch hours on Sundays. Each time was fantastic. Drinks include Wigle's own distilled creations and Threadbare Cider. There are also local craft beer options. You can sample their spirits through a variety flight options. Each flight includes four half-ounce pours. If you want to try their classic spirits, go for the Foundations flight which includes their bourbon, rye, gin and spiced-rum. If you aren't into drinking straight spirits, they also have a Flavored flight and Bottled Cocktail flight. As for food, I have tried the Pierogis, French Toast Sticks, Brunch Chicken Sandwich, and the Wigle Breakfast Club. All were delicious and featured full flavor. The French Toast Sticks are made with local bakery, Mediterra, sourdough bread. I have only eaten in the front space, but there is also a back room and bar. The front space feels spacious and open with an industrial loft feel. Immediately next to the dining area is their bottle shop, where you can sample and purchase any of their spirits. This was a fun evening with my friends! We were in town for The University of Pittsburgh's homecoming and wanted to do something different. I have seen wigle Whiskey these last couple of years of coming back home so I was familiar. I saw they had a tour so we booked it. As soon as we walked in you see a wall with all the different whiskeys and liquor they drink. Then in the tasting room you can start off with a full sized cocktail that comes with the tour. During the tour you are able to go to the distillery and learn the history about whiskey in Pittsburgh. I never knew the extensive history of whiskey especially in Pittsburgh. I also did not know whiskey was just distilled beer. It was very informative. They have us little tastes of their spirits and whiskey along the way. I think this tour is worth it! read more

We stopped by here on a whim this past weekend and absolutely loved it. The whole vibe is super cool and they have a lot going on there. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and asked what brought us in. We told them we wanted to grab some food and drinks so they directed us to the back food section. The front section was for tastings and we will be back to try out that experience. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was knowledgeable and had some great recommendations. We went a little wild while ordering but we were definitely hungry and thirsty! I started out with the cinnamon island which was an interesting drink. Very Fall-ish. Followed by the hey sweetie because I wanted to try their cider. We tried to order a flight of cider but apparently there is no such thing. All the ciders looked so good and we wanted to try multiple flavors so Wiggle if you're reading this PLEASE consider offering cider flights like you do for the beer! So onto the food. We started out with nachos that were delicious! The homemade kettle chips were amazing and the toppings did not disappoint. Which brings me to the wings and the reason I can't give a 5 star review as much as I would love too. Quite frankly they were horrible and after 1 bite I literally spit it out. Classy, right? I don't believe they were cooked all the way and they tasted funny. They were the worst wings I've ever had. I really think they should take the wings off the menu. My boyfriend and I both ordered the burger for dinner and they were absolutely delicious! Possibly the best burger I've ever had. The meat was super fresh. It was cooked and seasoned just right. If you're looking for an interesting, informative and fun distillery tour, Wigle Whiskey is the place to go! We've been on a number of distillery tours in Ohio and Kentucky but our tour at Wigle Whiskey today with Justin was the best one so far! His explanation about the distillation process was punctuated with a stories about the whiskey business in the area from the late 18th Century to today, making for a very informative and enjoyable presentation. For the $20 tour price, we were given a full cocktail at the start of the tour, two samples during the tour and then tastings of four other products at the end of the tour -- quite the deal! Of course they will let you taste anything else you're considering buying after the tour. We walked away with three bottles that we can't wait to try. read more

Their brunch is excellent. Had the wiggle breakfast club (duck confit and bacon). Amazing - love the potato bread they use. The blueberry bourbon coffee cake is also tasty and not too sweet. My wife had the falafel waffle which is unique and very good. Really liked the cucumber and hot sauce dressing on top. All around a good weekend brunch option. And their excellent cocktails and beer on tap make it worth 5 stars. One small note is that the kitchen was a little slow; but we used the extra time to enjoy our cocktails! read more

We arrived around 4:45pm on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. Drinks -- We got the Whiskey Core Flight and while it was yummy, the "tasting" pour was a slightly smaller than expected. We also got two Old Fashioneds and they were far sweeter than we've ever had, and it didn't come with our fav, a dark whisky soaked cherry. If you really like the flavor of rye / whiskey in your Old Fashioned, I'd recommend skipping it here. However, we also got the "Fashionably Late" from the seasonal craft cocktail list and it was much better! Food -- Highly recommend the pierogi appetizer! It was delicious and really decently sized for an app that 2 people share!!! Also had the Lonzetta Sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was great! The "salad" was only mixed greens tossed with dressing. Definitely a disappointment there (highly recommend fries instead). Also got the Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries. That Sandwich was also yummy too and fries were great and seasoned with pepper!! Bill came up to $120 with tip. We definitely enjoyed the visit and recommend the place! Stopped in as part of a self directed food walking tour of The Strip area of downtown Pittsburgh. I found them just by looking up restaurants and bars on Google Maps and I am glad I did. This place is amazing. They have a great story to tell about how their spirits came to be. You can get flights and tastes and everything is made in-house from theri variety of whiskeys and bourbons (good luck finding a wheat whiskey other places). The staff is incredibly knowledgeable (and personable) about their products. I tasted a few different whiskeys along with their rum, gin, and liquors. Everything was delicious. This place is super user friendly! I was a bit worried that my first visit would be intimidating but I was so wrong. I knew good things happened here, but I was concerned I wouldn't be able to talk the talk when it came to whiskey. No worries, because the fun began the minute I stepped foot into the place. For a warm, Sunday afternoon there were plenty of tables and open spaces to help me settle in and relax. The staff on hand were very helpful and inviting. They offered several tasting options to begin with, and their hand-out menu was easy to follow. The menu lists everything from their seasonal cocktails, barrel-aged cocktails, four different tasting flights, and the four Pennsylvania beers available. We ordered the Foundations Flight and the Adventure Flight. Both flights were nicely presented and our server took the time to perfectly explain the characteristics of each. It didn't take long to find my favorites. My first visit was so enjoyable that I can't wait to return for my next tasting experience. I also hope to catch up with the Pittsburgh Sandwich truck, since this was their first visit to Wigle as well. Good things do happen here! read more

On September 2, 2023, my parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. As part of the celebration, my brothers and I sent them to lunch and a tour/tasting at the Smallman street location. They loved everything from the ambiance, to the food, to the service! Mom had an amazing salad and Dad had a hamburger that he said was so very good. The service was top notch! They both said that the tour was truly interesting, and they learned a lot. Now my mother is not much of a whiskey-type like my father, but she liked everything about the tasting (as did my father). They both said it was something they had never done in their 6 decades together and they truly enjoyed it. And to make it even more special, they surprised my folks by giving them a bottle in honor of their anniversary. I'm flabbergasted at the kindness. I highly recommend this location for locals and visitors to the Pittsburgh area alike. It's something different to do and quite entertaining. This was my first time here I had a drink and one flight. I ordered food to go as well. I ordered rhe salmon entre and salad. The salom was cooked perfectly. It was served with sweet potatoes puree and roasted brussel sprouts. I would order it again very delicious. As for the flight I unexpextedly enjoyed the coffee liqueur the best. If you're trying to find where all visiting Canadians are when you're in Pittsburgh look no further than Wigle Whiskey. We were in town for a Leafs/Pens game and got a recco to check this place out. Upon our arrival we came to realize that nearly everyone here was from the Toronto area! I guess you can't get between a Canadian and their whiskey can you? No matter the experience you're looking for, Wigle has a space to accommodate it. If you're into nerding out on the process behind the hooch they have regular "tours" which are paid and occur in the rear fermenting and production area. We didn't do this but I understand some samples are available with this tour. We decided on just boozing together in their retail-tasting room. Many of our group got tasting flights, I got the new releases flight and got to try a variety of their latest concoctions. Many of my group went for the whiskey flight which had them trying a variety of whiskey made from grain from a variety of sources from across the US and Canada - really cool! They also offer signature cocktails made with their own spirits. I went with the 'Pear With Me" which was wayyyy too easy drinking and I could see myself quickly getting tipsy with how fast I could guzzle this. Yum! A great spot in a nice neighbourhood. Went here for drinks and lunch. The barrel finished flight was good, and the broccolini was good. I got the bahn mi for my meal and it was inedible. Pork was wildly overcooked, tough and bland, and the sandwich lacked seasoning and flavor. Took two bites and couldn't finish it. Serving meat that overcooked shows a complete lack of care from the cook. Ended up getting Subway after leaving, and actually got a better sandwich.
