I visited this store on Sunday, it wasn't too busy. I had purchased a wig here in the past and was very satisfied. I decided to return. The assistant that helped me was Jessica. She was very helpful, patient and friendly. The last wig I purchased was shades of blonde, highlights etc. now my hair is a light copper shade. There were very few to chose in that color, also because I wanted a short wig without a lot of hair, nothing to poufy the selection was limited. Jessica went up and down to find me something that would suit what a was looking for, it was at least 3 or 4 trips downstairs. It's surprising that there are so many blonde and brunettes wigs in numerous styles and lengths, but hardly any copper/red shade. I did purchase a wig, the shade is darker than my hair but I liked the simple style and I think it worked for me. I was in here today and I bought a shower cap and a flat iron straightener. The guy on the billing counter was interested to know if I had an ID or no and where my card is from. Upon telling him it is an international credit card, he charged me $300 extra over what I was supposed to give..that is $31.55. I hope it is an honest mistake as I am so very disappointed in his style of doing business. I live in Sweden and trust me, there are NO kind of Wig stores anywhere to be found. Well, there is ONE, and suitable ONLY for caucasian folks! So happy to be home in NYC and even better to find Wigs and Plus. Got to the store at about 10 am, and I was greeted by Mary O. I told her the style of wigs I was looking for and she went over and beyond to get exactly what I wanted! Honestly, I didn't expect that! You know how We New Yorkers can get: a lot of attitude, and no patience, but hey, I can totally understand cause I demanded A LOT today...but Mary O was patient as a Lamb! Ok so as the author of the previous angry post, in the name of fairness, i'd like to add something. Yesterday I went back to the shop, (I need hair, they sell it) and was actually treated like a customer. The staff recognized me and there was some uncomfortable whispering at first (!) but after that, they couldn't have been more polite and helpful. The previous particularly rude lady thankfully wasn't there, and the rest of the staff were delightful, so all credit to them! Because of that, i'm going to go back there today and actually make a purchase (2 months down the line!) - because they deserve my business now. Small changes make big differences. I went to this location to purchase a lace front wig. Service was... ok. but I decided to buy a wig that I liked. It was $230 plus wig. I asked if they could cut the lace off for me and they had the audacity to say it would be a $40 charge. $40 to cut off a lace? I'm paying over $200 and you can cut the lace for me WTF? I went in here after reading Yelp reviews about how the customer service here is awful so I didn't expect much in terms of the staff. The people working here are honestly some of the worst employees I've ever had to deal with. To the manager: please train your employees better. The wigs here are nice, but none of the employees seemed to care about helping me with anything and refused to sell us a wig cap because they were "closing soon" (they close at 7:30, it was before 7 when we came in and asked). I really want to come back here because there's a decent selection of wigs, but I'm not sure I want to be treated like I don't exist again. First wig store I ever went to for serious wig consideration. Staff could be tough at first with certain rules, but they melt and are experts re their wigs. Didn;t expect to pay $110 but worth more that double that, as it was a Remy of Paris. the cut on the wig must have been based on a real cut by a great stylist and then created using computers! I went to Wigs and Plus this past Sunday with my two sisters to look for new wigs. The only ounce of respect we received was from Priscilla and the man at the register! Priscilla was the sweetest customer service associate and literally bent over backwards to help us since the other two ladies were being extremely rude. The kept yelling store rules at us while giving assistance to other, lighter skinned customers. The only people I'd even let assist me if I ever returned to this store (which isn't likely) is Priscilla and the older (I believe) Middle Eastern man that was at the register. The older African American lady with shoulder length dread locks, and the younger East Asian woman with long hair in a ponytail were very nasty and did not make our experience a positive one at all. I was absolutely disgusted and appalled at how they were following us and treating us. They could definitely use some customer service and common courtesy training! read more

If I could give them -20 stars I would! I ordered two wigs from their online store for my friend undergoing chemo therapy. I was promptly charged and then nothing! I received a call several days later to inquire if the order was fraudulent since the billing and the shipping address were different. I confirmed it was valid and that I already paid for the order. I received a tracking number via an email that lead to nothing. I left 4 voicemails and 1 email and was never contacted. I finally reached "Frank", their customer service agent, who said it was post offices fault even though they never responded to my outreach attempts. He promised to send the items out overnight and to send me an email with a confirmation. The email never came and "Frank" was not in the store the next day to answer my call!!!! ***UPDATE- after three weeks, my friend received the wigs. As to the owner of the store, if you're not associated with the website the phone number shouldn't lead to your website. The initial email from USPS read "Your package is on its way to our USPS facility." That implies "Frank" wasn't honest when he said that he sent it originally. Him sending it free of charge is the least he can do and if by promptly you mean two days after I spoke to me, we have a different opinion on what promptly means. read more

I honestly genuinely love this place. I'm here at least twice a week purchasing products for my clients and I travel all the way from the East side. 1. I will never give Rick's my money EVER they over charge for their products! I'd rather make the trip over here to purchase my items. Every time I come in I am greeted by someone at the door and asked if I need any help. All the employees are usually on their P's and Q's and ready to offer their help. They also restock quickly. I can count on one hand the times I've came by and they didn't have what I needed. They carry everything from high end to generic! Their natural hair selection is HUGE! And they also carry a bunch of Spanish hair products which are really a pain to find, the prices are amazing and if the owner is present they'll usually cut you a great deal I literally have no complaints! went in a few times since moving here and agree the customer service sucks. you think it would be an easy fix especially with the manager being to in-tune with the help community.. i just went again today and now i'm never going back ..i've been saving up money to buy good hair extensions due to an extreme loss of hair from a personal issue.. and i asked the lady behind the counter if they had my color in 18" and she said no, but that 18" would be too long for my hair and that i should get 14" ...so i took her word for it because she's the expert and that is her job after all...by the way my hair was down and straight so she could see the length ...i get home put the extensions in and they are the same length as my hair! and since i can't return them i'm out of a lot of money. i'm really upset. i called to ask if there was any way to fix this situation and once again the man was rude and said it was my fault for not knowing...but how am i supposed to know unless i try the hair on? also it's not my job to know, it's theirs!
