I went in on 1/26/22 and was serviced by Starla who assisted me with picking out the most beautiful wig. I normally dislike wigs because a lot of the times they do not look natural but this one was perfect. The customer service that I was given was beyond awesome & actually amazing as I didn't think that people were this sweet & kind anymore. I visited on a Saturday, almost 3 pm and found out the shop closed at 3 pm as posted on the door. I spoke with a sales woman and apologized for entering last minute and indicated that Yelp had store hours to close at 4 pm. I was quickly assisted, knew what I wanted and was invited to sit and try on the wigs I chose that matched my needs. The customer service was attentive, kind, and once she knew what I was looking for she sought out similar options. She respected health protocols and stepped away to allow me to style the hair and look at it without my mask. I've been to many wig shops and this is the first one that trusted the customer to take their time to adjust and comb out the wig. It's in investment to spend over $300 on a nice wig and the customer should feel that it's right for them. Thank you wig wam for being a wonderful addition to our community. Buyer beware. I bought a hair piece that the staff said looked great and you couldn't see edges And that it could be teased. I got home and in good light could absolutely tell it was a hair piece and teasing did nothing. I called immediately and after just three hours wig wam refused to take it back. I am from the Seattle-area and recently purchased 3 wigs online that needed trimming. I took a chance on having my $600 worth of wigs trimmed by someone I had never met before. I felt confident they could handle it, after learning they have been cutting wigs for 30 yrs, even for Broadway plays! I'm really excited about this shop! My friend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon just to try on a couple wigs and see if we liked them. When we entered the store, we had a lovely gentleman by the name of Jerry who politely asked us if we needed assistance to please ask...but please do not touch the wigs. I thought to myself uh oh cause I always wanna touch them...my friend had to remind me several times...don't touch! :-) Well we looked and didn't know what we really wanted to try...we were helped out by both Jerry and Jon the owner, who was also very kind and patient with us. Jon actually found the wig I ended up purchasing, but Jerry fit it properly to me and made me love it! My very first wig...I wore it the next day for Mother's day and no one including my husband could believe it was a wig....that's how good these wigs look!! Human hair, Specialty Synthetics made by top designers, toppers, ponies, and more! They are so good and I am pleased with my purchase. There's one I bought that was a mistake but I can play "Whose afraid of Virginia Wolfe in that one! It's fun and yet the more expensive wigs really have done a lot for my heart/ it's so tragic to go thru the caretaking and loss I've experienced I know many others feel the same. Went to this wig place this morning to weigh my hair options for when it gets too chilly to be nearly bald. I am a woman of color who has a buzz cut because I am riddled by diseases and since I know other who have diseases my friends buzzed it for me because I wanted to express solidarity with those who have illnesses and can't grow/or lose hair. Anyway in the meantime, I was wearing a cheap wig one that is blue from a prior Halloween costume; one that albeit I already knew was of the poorest quality. When I asked the manager/owner of the store if he had a wig that was under $100 because of my budget he said that I looked like Ronald McDonald with the one that I have on so no, but that because I am young I will do well in finding a cheaper one at this other place-at DHS (Desert Hot Springs). He said I would 'do well there' after getting in my face, showing me more expensive wigs all the while talking to me in a condescending tone, and after trying to make me feel cheap for simply wanting to get informed on the wigs he had as it is a business; it was my first time ever going to a wig store. I told my mom in Spanish what he said and she asked him if he had a magazine or catalog to take with us so as to have a back up plan and he paused, scanned me up and down and said no. He was lying therefore when people try to claim that racism, sexism, age-ism etc. doesn't exist I will educate them instead of perpetuating the despicable attitude this older man was demonstrating toward me. He definitely lost a potential client today all because of his crappy patriarchal attitude. Was I fuming and on the verge of tears? Why yes I was. Will I apologize for that? Fuck no.
