I successfully made reservations over the phone...online reservations have been an issue in the past. We arrived after 4 p.m. and checked into a busy store where everyone was working diligently. I will say, it's expensive to camp here. They charge per person, not per tent or site. We stayed at a primitive campsite that was nicely shaded. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit, both well used. River access from the primitive sites is close and refreshing on a hot day. In the evening, it's lovely to sit by the river, stargaze, and watch the lightning bugs in the trees. If you're lucky, the people around you will turn off their music by midnight so you can enjoy a little peace. There's access to a porta potty near the campsite that's about as decent as you can expect. You can walk or drive to a shower house, but keep in mind you'll need quarters to shower, and the change machine isn't always working. The flushable toilets are hit or mis. Some are clean and stocked with toilet paper, others are...not. Floating is easy to book, and the rafts, canoes, and kayaks are well maintained. The Huzzah is a fast-moving creek when the water's high, and more of a slow drag when it's low. I'd recommend the 6-mile float for a nice full-day experience. Don't forget sunblock, hats, and sun shirts. Also, bring plenty of water and snacks. When you're done with your float, a bus will take you back to the main campground. I've been to Huzzah many times for a quick getaway. The experience is enjoyable, and the front desk staff is great, but it is pricey, and the facilities could definitely use better upkeep.

Kids were locking them and shutting the doors so that there was only one stall available. We told the front office that the lights were off in 4 stalls and doors were locked and they came and unlocked them.. only to have kids do it again. Felt like something they should have stayed on top of.

After he realized he was wrong he tried to tell us we could not have two tents. Not true. I had to show him proof on my phone. Then he tried to tell us our tent we just put up was in the wrong place. It was not. I showed him the lot map. The man seemed intoxicated but I'm not sure. After he left he went to the next lot and yelled at that man . I personally have never been treated so rude. This place has no real camp host. This place has no hospitality. The camp host from lot #20 is a real creep. There is something not right with him mentally and I suggest others do not camp near lot #20 camp host. The camp host at lot #20 needs to be fired. He should not be around families or children. Beware of this park for many reasons. 1) camp host lot #20 2) homeless 3) dirty , trash everywhere. 4) no good trails 5) no water access 6) pot smoke and meth smoke in the air at night 7) camp host #20 8) camp sites are uneven mud pits Untill this park puts real camp host in place it will remain a dump. The tour is almost a mile in length and involves some flights of stairs and some steep grades. It took 1.5 hrs, and there were about 6 tours running per day. They start with a short instructional video. The tour is fantastic with plenty of discussion about how caves form and the history of the land. The lighted accents present expansive areas of the cave, some hundreds of yards across. This cave should be a national monument. Not to be missed.

He acknowledged that he knew it made people uncomfortable but continued to double down and repeat the offensive word, saying that it was fine because he (a white man) knew some Black people when he was growing up. After we had to repeatedly ask to be let off the bus, several of us attempted to convey how inappropriate Ken's language and behavior was. His response was to ask who we voted for in the presidential election and to dismiss us as customers when we said that should not matter. The clear message was that we were snowflakes, and if we were offended, it was our problem, and he didn't need our business. He certainly will not be getting it in the future.

The people I went with just counted me and I showed up. I paid and floated and came back and that was that.
