We stopped off in here, knowing that we would have to make a purchase in order to use the restroom, so that's what we did. As we pulled up into their parking lot, we noticed right away the nice craftsmanship on the outside seating wood benches in front of the location as you walk inside, which is like walking into your garage from the outside because of the outside appearance, you are greeted by the fabulous aroma of coffee. Nice little cozy area as they have a small section set up with a few armchairs to the right when you walk in, into the left is the counter where you place your food/drink water and to make any of your purchases that are located on the other side of the counter. You can find anything from wine, to souvenirs, to snack snacks as you stroll through this establishment. The small crew here was very friendly and polite and helpful. We chose to place an order for two coffees, one large, black coffee, and one small with cream and sugar, a nice little touch while sitting down and enjoying the view, looking out the window. Very clean establishment, even the two restrooms that they have located to the rear of the business, but still indoors. Great food, needs better customer service. I asked if they could put out an umbrella, never made an effort or gave us an update. Bring your own umbrella if you plan to sit outside, they say they'll help but that's as far as the customer service goes. Saw this from across the way when I had stopped to get gas at the Chevron. I was in dire need of a rest stop and even though I had snacks in the car and things to drink, the frontage of this place drew me in with my curiosity. There is an inviting open concept of the entrance always being open since it is one of those glass garage-like doors that roll up. Picnic benches with shade for seating outside and a few various places to sit inside. If the weather is nice, which it was, it was recommended to check out the Donner Lake which was nearby. I totally would have, but I was trying to make it back home before a certain time. (now I kind of regret not taking a look *insert watery eye emoji*). Everything on the menu here sounded good -- I ended up with a burrito -- the brisket and egg with a side of salsa, an iced water, and a double espresso over ice. I had it for dine-in and had to ask for a to go bag to package the other half of my burrito which was delicious - hot, and hit the spot. The service here is friendly and they guy who helped me could probably tell that I was in need of some nourishment after coming back from the playa. One thing that made my stay short here was that there was a wasp / wasp nest somewhere on the exterior of the building and I am afraid of insects, haha. read more

I just thought I'd take a minute to update my review because I've gotten to come numerous times now and it is by far every time above and beyond my expectations. The salads are great especially the build your oen. It does get a bit spendy but you're getting quality ingredients and it's made very well. And it's freaking huge. There's no way I'm going to finish the one I just got! And The chicken is GOOD! So often the chicken on salads is an afterthought but not here! It's seasoned and juicy! Don't let the picture fool you! The breakfast bowl continues to be one of my favorite things here. Their gluten free sandwiches are also great, again not made as an afterthought. I really like the decaf esspress coffee here too. It's smooth and not too bitter which can often be a problem with decaf. But one of the best things about this place are the people who work here. Two in particular who have stood out each time I've come in are Ethan and Josh. They are so sweet and hardworking. They try and remember people who comes regularly despite how busy this place can get. There are a few other stand out employees, especially the woman who helped me today, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get everyone's name. On a recent visit I believe the manager or owner complimented my reusable cup and said I just needed a different sticker on it and then proceeded to give me a mountain brew sticker lol. You better believe it ended up on that cup when I got home! Despite this shot being on the complete other side of town for me I try and at least come once week or every other week. Such a cute find! They have the soy milk I like to make a sweeter latte without intentionally adding a sweetener. My favorite part are the AMAZING cups here. This is my dream cupboard with Stitch, Hello Kitty, Pooh, Disney and so much more. Huge breakfast burritos. I mean large. Tons of food options including egg salad sandwich, Leige waffles, and plenty more. I am the type that would prefer to see the pastries when choosing them so that's something they can consider. My expectations were not high for the coffee because it's one of those places that has a little bit of everything- food, drinks, bakery, etc. but I was pleasantly surprised. I had such a great experience at Mountain brew! I went in on my birthday to grab sandwiches with my fiancé and it offhandedly got brought up that it was my birthday. The staff was so sweet. I tried the bacon and egg burrito, and it was a greasy, soggy mess. The eggs tasted like low-quality liquid eggs, probably microwaved. Bacon was mostly fat and not even slightly crispy. Potatoes were nearly nonexistent, and worst of all, there was no salsa or anything to help cut through the blandness. The coffee alone makes it worth checking out, but the kitchen definitely needs to step it up. A few tweaks and this place could be a gem. read more

One of the really interesting coffee shops in Truckee. The food is fun too. An added plus, the parking is easy and it's a walkable distance from the Tesla chargers (located in the back of Taco Bell.) The inside is nice and relaxing, but there aren't too many seats. The bathrooms are clean, something you really start to appreciate while on vacation, lol. The burrito- now I was hungry, and so I enjoyed it, but I'm wondering what the "wet" eggs are about (please don't tell me they're powdered eggs). It was served piping hot, and that is a love language that was appreciated! Salsa was fresh fresh and delicious. The coffee is very good! Much Better than Coffee Bar, I think! Oatmeal is instant stuff. Not enough hot water to stir it into warm comfort. (Hope they change to real oats- just cook it and keep it warm in a crock pot.) Turkey sandwich- I loved it. Chipotle mayo was a nice twist. Just a classic sandwich and it was cut if half. Baked goods are very good. Never got a chance to order the brownie with a marshmallow top. There was a meeting between the managers and an employee at one of the tables. I could hear most of it. Felt bad for the kid- employment mtgs shouldn't be done within earshot of customer. Didn't want to hear, but I did. Fantastic location near Donner Lake camping and next to a hotel. You could ride your bike from the campground to get coffee! It's so nice to have something so close. Tried to go through the drive through, but no one ever got on the microphone. Finally flagged someone down via the window to take our order, they were pleasant and helpful. We ordered a Blended Chai, a Mexican Hot Chocolate, and a couple other drinks. When the drinks came the Chai wasn't blended and the person who handed us the drink called the hot chocolate a mocha. We confirmed it was a hot chocolate with no coffee with the barista and left. Got on the highway and it actually was a mocha . Pretty good mocha, but not what we ordered. Chai was also good, but it would have been nice to get it blended as ordered. Would recommend if you want tasty drinks and are willing to roll the dice on what you actually get. read more

They didn't notice people were not staying to order food and changing orders to go. I asked them kindly to turn it down - reluctantly did. But this is a coffee shop and it's morning. Did not match the vibe of the decor at all. No public wifi. Did not find anyone friendly. Checking the boxes of serving coffee and baked stuff. Won't be back unless it's the only place open. First time to mountain brew. Went through the drive through and ordered a coffee with bagel and cream cheese. They fairly promptly handed over my coffee at the window. I sat there waiting, expecting my bagel to arrive shortly. Time went by and I was still there with no bagel wondering what the hold up might be. After 15 MINUTES someone finally opened the window asking if I needed something. I said I was still waiting for my bagel, and the server looked confused. No apology, just walked away without saying anything. After a couple more minutes of nothing I finally just got her attention and told her not to worry about it. Mountain brew can keep my bagel money as that'll be the first and last time I go there. 2 stars because I did get my coffee, but the lack of professionalism was astounding. I placed an online order and mistakenly selected the reusable cup option. When my son went in to pick it up, he was greeted by an angry worker. This was totally my fault, not his, yet he was treated as though he had done something wrong. Next time just ask him for the $.25 as he would have gladly paid it. This type of behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. This place has a lot of potential! It's a Coffee shop with a drive thru and extensive menu right off the freeway and really close to Donner Lake. The iced coffee was good. The turkey lasagna soup was delicious! The grilled cheese sandwiches were ok. I was really excited to see they had an egg salad sandwich on the menu so I got that but could not eat it. The egg salad was really chunky, sloppy, and too wet. Please update the recipe, there are so many incredible egg salads out there. I would definitely stop by again if in the area. read more
