The experience we had over the 4th of July holiday was horrible and did not match the information on the web site or the claims of the rental company. To be blunt, the house was filthy with a large list of issues. We wanted out the first day but there was nothing available anywhere on that weekend. We therefore requested a full refund of the amounts paid, nearly $2000. As of this posting, the refund has not come through even though they said is would be coming. Here is a partial list of what we encountered. Oven did not work. Dishwasher did not work and smelled like a sewer. We were told to take the dishes two flights downstairs to wash them in a sink. Kitchen sink did not drain and smelled like sewer. Rodent poop on every counter in every room. Toilets were filthy with pubic hair and dirt. Spiders and cobwebs virtually everywhere. No internet as advertised. No TV as advertised. Hot tub was half full and smelled moldy. Damage to many areas in the house including walls and floors. The couch looked like dogs ripped it up. No garbage can or any way to dispose of garbage. We have many photos that document our findings. The elderly ladies who run the Wild Coast Vacations run a scam and should be shut down permanently. read more

I rented the exact same house as the shady A.D. reviewer before me , and do not share the same opinion as him. I figure he must be a disgruntled employee or just an unhappy person in general. I rented Seahouse Oceanfront Villa for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. There are no such inoperable doors, and no code violations. The beds are clean and comfy and the appliances are well up to date, We had plenty of smiles and memories made. Lovely nights watching the sunset from the hot tub, and being toasty by the fireplace. The team at WCV was only a phone call away, and was very responsive to even the littlest of requests. We will be back before summer is over to bring some family with us this time, and we wont stay with anyone but Wild Coast Vacations. read more

As mentioned below, this place has absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. My family had rented from this company in the past, and after this last instance of terrible customer service, we will never rent through them again! During our most recent instance, we were booking a home for our annual family reunion, and emailed them to reserve a place--well, it was booked so they asked us to look at other home options they offer. I looked, but was confused by pricing and what some of the homes offered, so I asked for help with a price comparison.... Instead I got an email back saying "Look at prices on our website." WELL NO KIDDING! I tried that, and obviously needed some additional help, which is exactly what I had said. Not helpful at all! Other issues: 1. If you ever try calling them, the likeliness of them calling you back is slim to no chance at all. I never received call backs--they only email, and are slow at that. 2. Two years ago we rented a house from them, and when we walked in, noticed it reeked of mold and moisture. We could not stand it, and called to let them know we wanted our money back--in full--and let them know we were very concerned with the condition of the home. A full day later, they got back to us and offered the refund. They were clearly not happy with the refund, but gave it to us (I guess that's a positive?) and offered us a new home, which ended up being mediocre. Needless to say our family reunion that year was not one of our favorites. I feel bad for all of the homeowners who have their homes sold through this company--they would probably get repeat customers and more business if they used another vacation company! I will not miss *trying* to work with this company in the future! read more

I have stayed at their rentals twice when in the area for business. I have found them to be responsive to issue we had with lighting at the Shore Bird. People need to understand this is a small rural coastal town and if your looking for 24 hour baby sitting go elsewhere. They have always returned calls and been very reasonable and kind. On my latest stay at the Sand Cliff - which is a super peaceful and private getaway - They worked with me on my arrival date, which changed several times and on my check out - even going so far as to offer several nights for free over the Holidays! Marsha is wonderful to deal with and it's true some of the details are not perfect - we had problems with the video player - they were super helpful and responsive. I could email, text or call and Marsha would get back promptly. No sure of the negative reviews on here - my experience was the complete opposite. read more

Similar to all of the reviewers, Wild Coast Vacations are an absolute nightmare and a disgrace to the rental profession. They rented out the Sea House Oceanfront "villa" without proper licensing with Curry County to us and many other families. they are not registered as a Short term rental with Curry County. The house is full of ADA violations. The house is full of fire and safety violations such as mold in bathrooms, inoperable doors providing egress points to the house during fire, outdated 20 year old appliances, broken garage door and the list goes on and on. They are responsive up to the point of your check in. Once final payment has been collected which is one week prior to arrival, that's when they get into their radio silence mode. Forget about getting any service during your stay. Certainly forget about any semblance of a response once you leave the property. PLEASE PLEASE STAY FROM RENTING ANY UNIT FROM THIS AGENCY. They have been reported to the county and have numerous violations you don't want to get tangled in. read more

We live in Venice, Florida and are renting a cabin in Gold Beach for the Summer. Wasn't sure how to get a good rental so we went with Wild Coast Vacations and so glad we did. Marsha made it easy, simple and had plenty of pics of the unit and has been very helpful through the entire process. Thanks to Carol who helped put a tourist info pack together for us and even mailed it to our home. It's been enjoyable working with the whole team there. Very knowledgeable. Horrible. Horrible. Did I say horrible? Do not rent from these people! The homes were run down. Not stocked. We had 4 glasses in a 4 bedroom house! The toilet broke constantly and the house was in disrepair. The pictures from the internet were either 20 years old or seriously photoshopped. The customer service was nearly nonexistent, except for the one lady who yelled at us. I've learned my lesson. Please learn from my mistake. Do not rent from here. It's truly sad. Gold Beach is beautiful place to see, but this last visit - it was a ghost town. And why? Because if you have to go through Wild Coast Vacations to rent a place - you're never coming back. The Hilltop Wonder is a great place for a comfy business retreat. We all loved the views and reconnected on business matters and personally in a deeper way than on any of our other yearly retreats. We have rented homes many times for vacations and have always had great experiences with the rental companies or owners. We recently rented a home from Wild Coast Vacations property management company and feel their business practices are unprofessional and dishonest. They mailed us a refund check of our deposit that was not for the full amount with no explanation as to why. Only an enclosed flier for their business was with the check. When I called the office to inquire about the reduced amount, the lady Beth stated she would not discuss my inquiry over the phone. They only correspond with customers via email. So I hung up, sent the email and heard back from them that the hot tub at the home was not clean when we left and they charged us to clean it. I explained that I completely disagreed with their findings and that we took careful measures to follow the detailed directions left for us in regards to use of the hot tub. They then went on to tell us how they should have charged us so much more for many others things we did wrong to the house. But they were giving us a discount for those charges. My family is extremely careful and considerate when we rent properties. I have never rented anything and not received a full deposit back. The company will "nickel and dime" you for extra charges after paying your rental fees and then argue with you when you question them about it. That is wrong and results in the loss of future business for them. read more

We stayed at the Hilltop Wander Wonder in Gold Beach Oregon 8/19 through 8/24/15, and there were 4 of us and two Greyhounds. If I were rating just on the view (stupendous!), the house (spacious and comfortable), and location (private and serene!) I would give this property 5+ stars! But...let's talk cleanliness....this place wasn't. In the master suite there were urine stains all around the base of the toilet with pubic hair stuck in the dried urine. The middle bathroom with the shower had so much black mildew growing in it that we refused to use it. The 3rd bathroom with a tub only was the only clean bathroom - probably doesn't get used much. Bring your own toilette paper - the stuff they provide is horrible, single ply that dissolves in your hand...yuk. We had to rewash the dishes and utensils before we used them, they literally looked like they'd been ran through the dishwasher without soap. There were nasty ear wax encrusted ear plugs in the windowsill of the middle bedroom from a past tenant.. Light fixtures were full of dead bugs, and there were cobwebs everywhere inside and out. I don't have a fear of spiders, but one could see it had been months since windows, and porch lights had the webs swept from them - the property appears neglected when it comes to cleaning. In the afternoon when the sun hit the windows, it was amazing how dirty they were. A cleaning crew needs to spend a day here cleaning before it is rented again! But the views are incredible, I simply couldn't ask for a better vista! And from every single room! Just be prepared to clean! read more

We stayed at the Pacific Beach Sands and the Sea Shadows Beach house so my review will only include info about those two homes. The Pacific Beach Sands is very nice and what you would expect for the price. The hot tub is an issue and it's retarded that they won't allow a normal hot tub temperature. You might as well just not have one. 90 degrees is not a hot tub. It's just not. That being said, everything else about that house including the view, the rooms and the location are wonderful. The Sea Shadows Beach house you'd be better not even wasting your time with. This house looks like you went back into the 80's. I'm guessing when you have a large place you would assume that families stay but not in this house. The moment I walked in I was thinking "ok, my kid can break everything I'm looking at now". There are a tone of Georgia O'Keefe pictures on the walls top to bottom. It's just poorly decorated and over decorated with things that are are useless. The game room is a joke and the basement smells. I don't know what it smells like, but it isn't good. This house is advertised as the largest but just don't bother because it looks tacky and your kids will want to smash everything made out of glass. I wanted to smash it too. Overall I can't give it a one star because they were accommodating and the first house was great but you aren't getting what you pay for with the second. The hot tubs don't work. Just don't bother with it and stay out of the house from the 80's. It's horrible and ugly and I didn't feel comfortable in it and neither did my family. They need to redecorate it completely. If you saw it, you would think "what a waste of a large house". read more

RENTER BEWARE! Hopefully our post will be the last one for this "rental company". We took our 3 grandkids on vacation this summer and stayed in the "Shore Bird". The pictures and description on line are beautiful. DON'T go by them. And all the comments about not being able to get a hold of the company, trust them. We arrived about an hour after their office closed so they left the key under the front door mat. When you walk through the door you really are blown away by the view. It's beautiful. But, it's the ONLY thing you're paying for. This rental advertised "bbq grill, movies and games". NO grill, and one dinner was planned to be bbq'd. We did find what I'm sure THEY called a bbq grill in the "laundry room" adjacent to a house right next door. The grill was absolutely filthy and useless. This room is also the designated "trash can". By that we mean the rental only has a small curb side trash can that was full when we got there and stayed full our whole 4 days. We met someone cleaning the rental attached to this laundry room and they said to just put our bags of trash in the laundry room. So we did. The plastic outdoor furniture was so dirty and stained and there were only 2 chairs, so we took 2 from the place next door. No movies. And the "games" were 4 jigsaw puzzles and an old ratty (i think) backgammon. 3 of the puzzles were not little kid friendly(1,000 tiny pieces) and the only kid one had 3 pieces missing. The magazines (about 8) were dated 2006-2012 and I think there was one 2013. I do have to say they were all kid friendly. We actually stayed an extra day. Not because the house was great but because we live in the desert and weren't ready to go home to the heat. And when we couldn't get a hold of them by phone(all day) to see if it was ok we went to their office the next day. The door was locked and it was mid afternoon. Someone inside saw me and opened up. The office was filthy and cluttered with piles of papers and folders. Dirt and dust everywhere. When we got home and they sent our deposit check it was MINUS $25.00. We called and they said, really, really, rudely, "you broke a remote" and "that's why we say to let us know if anythng's wrong when you get there." There were 3 remotes in this place. 1 for the tv. 1 for the dvd. And 1 for a vcr that wasn't even in there. We noticed the broken one but didn't have to use it so we thought it was no big deal. And there were soooo many things wrong and mis-advertised in this house we would have wasted a whole day of our vacation writing them all down. So, if you do decide to stay here, or in any of this companies rentals go through and write EVERYthing down that's wrong. Better yet, try to get there when they can walk in with you. But we figure that's why they never answer their phone, so the renter will be responsible for whatever's wrong with it or for what they can get away with charging you for. No telling how many guests were charged for "replacing" this same remote. read more

We have rented man vacation rentals over the years in various parts of the country and abroad. We are happy to recommend Wild Coast Vacations in Gold Beach, Oregon as as a company that exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our home was a lovely beach front villa with hot tub overlooking the ocean. Our hosts, Marsha and Beth, provided us with not only what would be expected of a luxury sea side home, but also went the extra mile. They were accessible at almost any time, prompt, cheerful and helpful. their attention to personal details such as fresh flowers and hand made cards made our stay that much more memorable. We will assuredly be looking forward to returning next time with friends in tow next year. We came at the end of August this year and were told that the weather is just as nice in September and October as in the summer months. We are retired with grown children so are able to choose any time of the year for our getaways and adventures. Customer is NOT always right! Wish I would have visited Yelp before booking with Wild Coast Vacations! Beware they will keep a portion of your security deposit which they require weeks before you arrive. They will also argue with you over the phone during and after your vacation accusing you of lying and being dumb. Not to mention we had to purchase paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags; oh and I hope you like doing laundry on your vacation because there were only about 6 bath towels for 4 adults and 4 kids to use... We rented the Sand Cliffs "cottage" in Gold Beach, OR for a weekend and paid a good deal of money for a place that was poorly maintained, had a dirty/sticky kitchen floor, the carpet was full of cat hair, dishes were dirty and needed to be washed before safe use, the house smelled of mildew, the stove was so poorly cleaned that cooking on it resulted in burning the food left on the aluminum foil stove covers by the prior users! The frig door didn't seal properly and all our food went bad. When I complained to the company about the door not sealing, they were nasty about it and claimed it was my fault the door didn't close! I sent an email about these problems to the company and they completely ignored my concerns and were nasty about it. Beware if you rent this place you are paying for the view only and not the conditions! It's a dump! read more

This was NOT a good experience at ALL!!! My family and another used this company for a trip we had been planning for 6 months and they really made it less than satisfactory. When we arrived we turned the hot tub from 100 degrees to 104 which is where we prefer it. When we went out to use it, it was now 91 degrees and flashing a code. When we called to get it fixed they scolded us for turning up the heat and told there were instructions not to turn the heat up (was not anywhere on the form). The following day when they finally got a repair man out to look at it he immediately had an attitude and accused us of "pushing all of the buttons" like we were idiots. My friend then brought out the directions sheet for the hot tub after he also accused us of not reading it and asked the guy to find where it said not to adjust the heat, "Well, its somewhere in there, maybe on another one!" and then he stomped off. We were able to use it ONE TIME that evening and were sure not to "Push all of the buttons" or any for that matter. When we awoke our 3rd and final day we decided to use it before breakfast and low and behold...error code flashing and no hot tub. I was ready to ask for a discount for not being able to enjoy the hot tub but here was the best part....they sent me an email saying we were losing a portion of our deposit due to the service call???? unreal. Anyway we did lose a portion of the deposit check they cashed in advance but i will make sure and tell everyone i know never to use them and i will never be using them in the future...RENTER BEWARE. read more
