The food here is phenomenal. Would love to dine in sometime but haven't yet so my review is purely for take out. I have used their website to place pick up orders 4x and every time the food has been delicious. This most recent time, I did encounter an issue with the order timing and a few little mistakes with my order, however the manager Katie (I believe it is Katie I am horrible with names) contacted me and handled my issue quickly. The girls up front arent always the friendliest but I know it's busy and they have a lot going on so it's not a huge deal. Maybe it's different for dine in customers. My favorite breakfast place I have been to, not just Lexington. Amazing food, like truly crazy good. The menu is HUGE, and everything we have tried has been amazing. Service is quick and friendly. Expect a wait if on the weekends. The ONE thing we have a major issue with is the lack of call-ahead or reservations. I cannot take a star away because the place is legitimately just that good. Their iced lattes are not talked about enough, truly, so I suggest that. We have had OK service before, but its never BAD. First, let me begin by saying the greeters and the waitresses were on point when we visited Wild Eggs again today. They were friendly and made sure we had whatever we asked for in good time. However, we did have some issues with our food. My husband's omelet was dry, very little cheese, and his potatoes were under done (they had that raw, crunchy feel). The side of bacon was cooked beyond what we consider done. It crunched when you chewed it. My eggs Benedict only had the smallest hint of hollandaise sauce and the poached eggs were over done. Alas, no runny yolk for me. :( We both agreed that the best part of our meals were the everything and blueberry muffins that came with our meals. So, with a tag over $30, we will choose a different spot for our next Saturday morning breakfast. read more

Went on a Saturday late morning, so they were very busy, but the wait still didn't seem to be bad. I was lucky enough to get a seat at the counter right away, which is always a nice option. Service was good and attentive. Love that they give you the whole container of coffee so you can do your own refills. Wild Eggs is a great spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch! There are a few locations in Lexington & Louisville; I believe it is a small local chain. Admittedly I've solely ordered from the breakfast menu when I've dined here. The lunch items all sound delicious, but I have a hard time turning down breakfast food. I ordered the oatmeal- our waitress told me they were out of blueberries but they could substitute strawberries which I appreciated. Our food came out quickly which was great! Not as great was the check coming out very shortly thereafter. We were there super early so there was no wait for tables, and whenever the check is brought I always feel rushed. Showed up, put our name on the list for 8 people. They said the wait was 8-10 minutes Half the party was in another vehicle, avan which got a flat tire. I went to pick them up in my car. As I drove and my phone number was used on the wait list, a friend who stayed behind went to the counter, explained the situation and asked them to let a few tables go ahead. I picked up the rest of the party and returned to find I had missed text messages. Instead of reaching out to my friend who stayed behind, explained the situation and sat there on the bench by the hostess counter, they bumped us from the list altogether. Back with the full party we ask about getting the table. Instead of putting us next in line which seems it would be the courteous thing to do, they put us at the bottom and said it would be about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes went by we checked on the table and they had no words for us. After 45 minutes went by we checked again and they said they had a plan. After more than an hour, neighboring businesses were opening up so we had an excellent lunch next door at Malone's. Would highly recommend Malone's. read more

Passing through Lexington from Louisville on my way to Knoxville. Being an avid patron to the Wild Eggs locations in Louisville, I noted there was a location just off I-75 in Lexington, I decided to order carryout and have some brekkie on the road. It being a Friday morning, and a location I didnt know, I assumed there would be a wait to eat in and couldnt really afford the time. On arrival the restaurant had approximately 20% of the tables occupied. The hostess approached and I told her I was there for takeout, and expressed how I was a bit surprised that they werent busy. After some cordial chit chat, she offered to seat me, that there was plenty of room. I accepted. After being seated a guy, presumably with some authority came to my tableside, before food of drink or anything, and proceedded to lecture me about how you want order takeout and eat in the restaurant "and take up our tables." I pointed out that there were10+ empty tables and no one waiting, that I didnt ask to be seated, I was offered it, and I tipped 20% on a take out order. He continued his rude silly little the "law according to me" speech. Once I realized I would not receive the meal unless I bent the knee to the mouthy little booger, I requested a refund. Je said fine, and then proceeded to tell "dont talk. Have you ever been in a restaurant before?" This location needs to assess staffing issues. I understand why they have low patronage. read more

A waitress at Carson's said Wild Eggs was one of her personal favorite spots. I did find the value of the food at Wild Eggs to be on the same level as Carson's. I had an omelet and French toast, and while I would return, I certainly don't feel extremely compelled to return. Wear stretchy pants! Huge portions at a great price! I love coming to Wild Eggs when I am visiting Kentucky. Their food and service has been consistently been good whenever I have dined there. They offer free coffee while you are waiting for your table. Wait times for a table can be rather long depending on the time you visit. However, we were very lucky and only had to wait about 20 minutes for a group of 6 people at around 10:30 AM on Sunday. Great place for breakfast/brunch and to soak up all of the Kentucky bourbon if you're visiting the Bourbon Trail! For this visit, I ordered a Cinnamon roll topped with Cream Cheese frosting to share with everyone and Surfer Girl Omelette w/egg whites, potatoes, and an everything muffin for $10.49. I highly RECOMMEND ordering the Cinnamon roll! It is so flaky, soft, warm, and so satisfying with the cream cheese frosting. It is served in a cast iron and is definitely an item to share with friends. I probably could eat the whole thing but would not be able to order anything else off of the menu! The Surfer Girl Omelette was huge and pretty good. I loved the warm everything muffin. Don't expect a sweet muffin but rather a savory muffin filled with poppy seeds. Yum! My hubby ordered an omelette with a side of pancakes and the pancakes were literally the size of the plate. Super fluffy and tasty! Our server was wonderful and attentive! Was down in Lexington visiting my Wildcat for her birthday and she recommended we give this place a try. Wow is all I can say. Thank goodness we got there early. Our wonderful server was quick to serve us and upsold us very smoothly on a cinnamon roll for the table. Thank god she did. I missed getting a picture but conjure in your mind if you will a small iron skillet filled with an ooey gooey delight that is covered in amazing frosting and the skillet gives the cinnamon roll a delightful crunch. You must try. My daughter had a breakfast burrito that was beautifully plated and she loved it. I had the Mr. Potato Head skillet sans tomato and poblano peppers. It was to die for. Oh, and they serve a muffin or bread option so I chose the everything muffin. Think everything bagel meets cornbread. Such an odd combo but so good!! This place has been book marked since about a year when I thought I will stop by when I visit Lexington. Weekends wait time is anywhere between 45-60 minutes. But the strip has many other shops that you can check out while waiting. We went for OJ, surfer scramble, Benedict Florentine and a side of French toast. I was a big fan of this place on my first visit. I ordered eggs Benedict (a fancy kind, I can't remember the menu name for it) with a mexican twist. It was soooo good. My friend who I met there for lunch had the mushroom burger. She let me have a bite of it and I decided this is what I would order next time. It was so creamy and just melted in your mouth. I would compare this place to First Watch, but a step up. A big step up. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, and serve mostly breakfast foods with a few lunch type options. It is a little bit pricy for breakfast food, around the $10-13 range but it is worth a try. Everything was presented very nicely. And we had an excellent waitress. My colleague and I were tired of the typical breakfast at the hotels and decided to try something local. There were at least 2 Wild Eggs close by. We arrived and were immediately seated.
