I'm not sure if I overpaid for them, as I'm not grossly aware of the crab cake market, but it seemed reasonable? If something is presented as an apology from the restaurant, it should not then appear on the bill. Being offered a dessert to make up for a poor dining experience, only to be charged for it afterward, is absurd and left a very bad impression. The kitchen's mistakes should not become the customer's responsibility. What was supposed to be a gesture of goodwill ended up feeling misleading and only added to our frustration. The one bright spot was the scallops my partner ordered--they were absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, by that point the overall experience had already been soured. We used to look forward to returning every year, but after this experience, we no longer have any desire to visit again.
