Owner awsome person ! Food great. Drinks great! LBeen coming to this restaurant many years and not once she has treated me me or my family kindly! It shameful be because the owner is a very nice person and caring about her customers! If people are unhappy with their lives or angry about things, they should not be in that position you dine out to have an experience and an enjoyment of your day or evening! Some people are more sensitive than others, but kindness is something that should be shown to everyone! Overall, it's a great restaurant and well run! Be nice. Yes nice!

We visited on Friday for lunch with a party of three and it was a nice experience. We arrived and were seated right away, the dining area is relatively small and has garage type, roll down windows, which made it a little cold due to the nasty weather. We started with a few appetizers; oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, and lobster mac & cheese. All were quite fresh and tasty, the chowder was served luke warm. After that we went with warm lobster rolls. The rolls had portions of lobster chunks and were excellent. The service was great, the waitress kept up with our needs while the place filled up. Overall, an excellent place for seafood, a bit pricey.

Went on another date last night, Sunday September 7th. It is right on the wharf. It is a fish market with what seems like a small restaurant attached. There appeared to be some outside seating as well. It's right on the Manasquan River. You can catch a nice sunset there. I must say the fried calamari is the best I've ever had. It was lightly battered, not overcooked, very tender, couldn't ask for better. My date ordered it but I think I ate most of it! I usually never order this appetizer as it usually is not good. She also ordered the crab cake sandwich with fries, she seemed to really enjoy it. I had the seared salmon tacos off the specials menu. They were served with tortilla chips. The chips seemed homemade, a good side. My tacos were delicious. I don't usually like salmon in a fish taco, but the way they were dressed, the pico and red onion, the flavor and texture just worked perfectly. Our server was excellent as well. Will definitely be back!

So good! I devoured it within minutes haha. The lobster tasted fresh and flavorful and the bread was soft.

Been craving for lobster roll for a while and finally got to satisfied my cravings. The calamari was very fresh but could use more seasoning. The lobster roll was really fresh and juicy and I loved the sweet potato fries! My husband got the fish taco and said it was okay. The waitress was really nice and attentive. The staffs were all very friendly.

Service is awesome and the food is delicious, try the tuna nachos if you're a fan of raw tuna, the specials are great once got a shrimp salad on a roll it was delicious. Also the lobster bisque is amazing but you kinda figured that already. 10/10

We recently celebrated my daughters birthday at Point Lobster. Not only were the staff helpful in setting us up at a big table, but they even stored our cake and brought it out at the precise time! Great people, fantastic service, delicious and extensive seafood menu. We will absolutely be back!

The perfect way to end a beach day!!! The coconut crusted shrimp was sooooo flaky and delicious. The lobster chunks in the bisque and roll were HUGE which I loved. I honestly could've ordered the lobster roll without the salad bc I was already stuffed The wait was short (Sunday ~1:30PM), very clean seating area, and there is a parking lot available :)

This has been my go to lobster roll spot in Jersey Shore. The service is always great and the food is always amazing. Their "indoor" seating is the patio which is very comfortable, especially on a hot summer day. Would recommend coming here if you are in Point Pleasant or just craving a lobster roll. I drove 90 minutes for this!

I thought about gate keeping this one but it's too good not to share. Great early dinner deal $23 from 2-4pm and byob. What's better than that? Three course meal. Soup or salad entree and dessert. I started with the lobster bisque soup. It was very creamy and had plenty of lobster in it it. Flounder franchise was very good but Flounder was very thin. It was served over rice. Honestly I did not care for the rice it was very starchy and not very flavorful. IMO This dish would be better with side of seasonal vegetables. The chocolate mouse cake was redeeming. lol. Very creamy and delicious. All in all not bad for $22 just think they can improve on the sides offered.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. We were looking for seafood in the area and found it on Google Maps so we stopped in around 4pm. Very cute place, service was awesome, the staff were so fast and friendly and the food....Absolutely DELICIOUS and great prices (we were in from Indiana and we definitely don't have anything like this at these prices anywhere around so we bought two lobster meals). By the time we walked out the line of people waiting to be seated was quite large, appears to be a popular place in the area. Highly recommend!!

For the other we tried a lobster taco that came with a choice of salad or hand cut fries. We went the fry route. They were great. Notes: it's a small place, they do not take reservations so you will wait for a table, however, they will text you when it's ready. They do sell wine or byob - your choice. They have a fish market and their own fishing boats and are proud to serve their own caught fish. This seems to be a local favorite in the Point Pleasant area. If you are coming later in the season, I would try to reserve. First up -- some nice slices of warm crusty Italian bread and butter. I ordered a cocktail special - the Kelle Belle (or similar) which reminded me of a Pimm's cup. La Portena had her usual Riesling -- no complaints. Lobster bisque was one of the hits, the typical rich broth, with the not so typical actual lobster meat - small bits to be sure, but so often there is no lobster at all. We also shared a lobster roll as a starter - it was good but I would have preferred larger chunks of meat - the roll was accompanied by some tasty tortilla chips. Next up, a complimentary salad - this was fine. I ordered soft shell crabs - they were perfectly fried meaty specimens but the french fries and cole slaw seemed like afterthoughts- the plating was haphazard. La Portena's flounder stuffed with crabmeat was a better plate overall. Two fresh small filets, stuffed with a savory filling and some good mashed potatoes. The glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc I chose to accompany the crab had the strongest grapefruit nose I have ever experienced. I know these always taste of grapefruit, but this wine was over the top. No room for dessert. Our server was warm and pleasant, and the entire experience transported me back to shore dinners with my parents in the 70s. I would return.

Is this the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to?…read more Actually, yes, it is. And I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants. The wait for a table was 45 minutes, but it was worth every minute. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We ended up being seated in a back patio room and though it was very hot outside (one of those 100 degree days last summer), it was actually very nice in there. The show started with someone asking for our drink order, then coming back with said drinks. After that she brought out some starts on the house, courtesy of chef and owner Joe. We were off to a great start! Soon after she returned to get our dinner order. After that, Chef Joe himself showed up to our table to thank us for visiting his restaurant and ask how we liked things so far. We let him know those starters were perfect...eggplant balls and a corn/tomato salad. Eventually our dinner came. Both dishes were waaaaaaaay more food than either of us expected. I had ordered chicken with mozzarella squares on top and drizzled in balsamic, which was a special created by Chef Joe's wife, according to the menu. My partner got eggplant parm...and wow, what a pile of food it was. Two huge eggplant pieces piled high with delicious sauce and served with some delectable pasta. Chef Joe came back to the dining room awhile later to ask people how their entrees were, and we let him know this was a great experience. I want to go back to Point Pleasant just to get here again. This time I will make a reservation.

The night started with Joe Spano, the owner, stopping at our table to bring several little dishes before we even had a chance to look at the menu. The meatballs (made with actually no meat but rather eggplant) were pure sorcery...like so good there aren't words. He noticed our wine bottle (it's BYOB so come prepared!), and by pure coincidence, it was his favorite bottle. Joe asked to show another costumer because they had been discussing wines earlier, and he wanted to make sure they got to see the label. If that wasn't personal enough, the walls are adorned with black and white framed photographs of family from back in the day to the present. The environment is clean, well-maintained, and cozy. Every bite we had was exceptional and the portions were huge! We left contently full but with plenty of leftovers. I'm quite sure every meal will exceed the expectations of even the pickiest of eaters. Our server, Brian (or Bryan) was new but attentive and informative. He spent time talking with his tables and being personable while also making sure everyone was taking care of. Overall, I highly recommend experiencing a meal at Spano's at least once....but after your first bite, you'll likely be making your next reservation before you leave (like we saw many people do)!
