Been there since I was a kid and same old greatness. Not the cheapest place on earth to get fresh seafood but the lobsters we purchased were VERY alive and rather feisty. Stopped here on the weekend of Xmas. What a zoo! We were one of the few people waiting in line outside in the rain who had not places an order for pick up. After about a 30 minute wait we were finally inside being waited on. Surprisingly they had many things we wanted available for purchase Despite the huge holiday crowds. We got crab claws that were So fresh And delicious the next day when we ate the. Also, the crab cakes were amazing. We bought fillet of flounder which we didn't prepare until a few days later and the fresh was still very fresh. I was working in the area and was looking for a place to eat. Not knowing it was more of a fish market than a deli. But I was hungry and saw there sign. From fresh fish to shrimp ,scallops , shrimp salad,lobster salad and soups. I tried there sea food minestrone and that was ok. But there seafood chili soup was amazing. OMG! You call them, order and pay over the phone, they tell you when to drive over and then meet you outside with your order with staff wearing full masks and gloves. Its bland as these items are to be expected and you can spice them up on your own which I do with some Lawry's Lemon Pepper, some 5 Pepper Blend, a toasted buttered English muffin and that's all she wrote. I couldnt get a 3lb female confirmation and it required a phone call the next morning to find out. Not a big deal but a little strange for a 'lobster' shop on the first day of summer. I was going to grab some crabcakes and crab filled items as they looked good but they didnt state what kind of crab it was....again strange for a 'lobster' shop. I asked 'is it Maryland crab or Asian" she said "its not Maryland". I said I dont want it if its Asian and she said she would go in the back and find out. Not a big deal but again strange for a 'lobster' shop. She came out and killed the rest of the sale by being honest and telling me it was indeed Asian crab. I am going to qualify this by telling you that I only come here for the Lobster salad. It is fresh , fairly priced ($35 @ lb.) ,and only consists of large chunks of tail and knuckle meat. If you are looking for lobster salad I highly recommend it. In fact I saw this same salad go for twice the price in East Hampton ,and , it looked old.I guess they are the cognoscenti out there so even crap tastes better. Give Lusty a try ! read more

Line was out the door for Christmas Eve! They were very accommodating and offered everyone waiting in line cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate. There was someone singing and playing piano outside the door. The service was amazing for the amount of customers (a lot!). I shop here often and am generally happy with my purrchase. I would give it four stars overall. Recently I responded to an email special for Empress Crab claws. They were anything but special. They were sold frozen in two pound bags and appeared to be frezzer burned or old and dry.. The meat stuck to the cartilege and you could not get it out without a struggle. For anyone who enjoys crab claws, this would be a disapointment. read more

I've been buying live Maine lobsters and steamers from a number of different lobster companies in the Maine area for years now. I learned about the Lusty Lobster from Facebook - where ELSE, right? I bought a half dozen live Maine lobsters from them and placed my order over the weekend for shipment on Wednesday. Sure enough, I got a call from them and they had my order ready and it was CHEAPER than they originally quoted online! That's right - I said CHEAPER! They arrived in the container - packed in seaweed, and just as alive as they could be. We steamed them up the next day and they were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend these folks down in the small Jersey town of Highlands, New Jersey for ALL of your fresh seafood items. Great service/Great price/ and they were delicious!! read more
