I had never been inside a wild fork before, but we decided we were gonna go in there because we wanted to try to find a couple unique cuts of meat at a reasonable price. we were also interested in potentially what they have in terms of seafood. I am not sure what I was expecting (maybe like a grocery store refrigerated and freezer section,) but I was surprised at how it was laid out. It was three aisles of the lower banks of freezers, with full wall freezer along two walls, and a few dry goods which makes sense because everything that they have is frozen at ideally the peak of freshness. It was very clean, looked a bit futuristic and was well coded. With different color signage to indicate where the poultry, beef, pork, seafood and prepared foods were. Easy to head to the section you were looking for. We looked around the store a lot and the folks who work there were very attentive. They asked us a number of times if we needed any help, answered any questions that we had, and even gave us some suggestions and background on certain cuts. We ended up going with some picanha, a couple other types of steaks, and a couple options of seafood. All the pricing was all very reasonable and now we have a fully stocked freezer. read more

Omg! We bought a Wagyu picanha and it was amazing. We've had their normal prime picanha but when I went this time, one of the sales associate told me that their Wagyu picanha was half off. I checked it and it was a huge 4lb picanha, the expiration date was coming due (hence discount) which was perfect bc we were going to eat it in the next couple days. We thawed it out and it was beautifully marbled. We cooked it and yes it was so buttery and rich, really tasted that Wagyu in it. It was tasty. However, super rich, so make sure your stomach is prepared for it! We'll be back to get more picanha!! So tasty. read more

Well, it's grilling season and even though Wild Fork doesn't carry my bacon wrapped shrimp anymore I still had to go in and see what was new. We had steaks at home so didn't need that but we needed some interesting appetizers so I started to look and I will tell you the amount of stock they have at this store is truly amazing and different. Everything here is frozen everything from beef tenderloin to beef brisket, beef flap steak and inside round steaks, organic chicken, organic chicken breast, wide variety of chicken and seafood. Seafood varies from frozen cod, Dungeness, crab, crab legs, scallops, shrimp and more they also have game frozen meats from venison, bison, rabbit, whole ducks, and more. Their frozen prepared meals are pretty impressive from Asian to Mexican empanadas, chicken tacos, chicken, empanadas, pork Carnitas tacos, and other Indian specialty foods. They also have an impressive shelfstable selection of condiments from ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauces, marinades, and more. Prices are very reasonable but again how long is it gonna take to defrost a 6 pound frozen pork shoulder? Then barbecue it so it's convenient for some meats but I kind of question the frozen larger cuts of meat. It is reasonable but just a hassle to defrost. It would probably take at least 3+ days and then entire day of smoking. Service I only noticed one employee who was either helping other customers and then manning the cash register so very efficient operation. Service was nice. He asked everyone how they were doing and if they were finding everything. I never found the six dollar duck breast so maybe our Encinitas wild fork didn't have it. Stopped in to the local Wild Fork to pick up some steaks while visiting my parents in Encinitas & it did not disappoint!! The staff were very friendly and helpful - they helped my husband find some ancestral blend chicken & me find the Argentinian/Brazilian steaks - and the prices were VERY reasonable for the area. The store was very clean and organized, and they seemed well stocked in every area. Hopefully we will have a chance to come back to Wild Fork again during our visit! read more

The storefront is very clean and organized! Meats are displyed in their own organized stations! Oxtails, an assortment of different types of meatballs, pre-marinated chicken breasts, frozen cheese bread, key lime pie and crème brûlée was everything that fit in my personal grocery bag. I'm a creature of habit and get some of the exact products and then make a poiny to include something different to try as well. Currently they have afordable pricing wich keeps us coming back here! We signed up our emails, and we were told by the cashier that they are going to host a future buisness anniversary event. So to look out for that email. Well organized meat store! They had a great selection of allllll the proteins. Unfortunately for me, I was looking for something to cook that night and everything is frozennnnn here. BUT! It's freezer air tight meaning it keeps the integrity of the meat. We for a decently size picahna that was already seasoned for $40!!! A deal for this kind of cut of meat. We also got some ribeye. From what I saw, the meat quality here is top notch. They also have other frozen apps that would complement any meal. I think this is a great option to get your meats at instead of the markets IF you don't need thawed meat to cook right away. Great addition to the community! read more

We first tried Wild Fork in Los Angeles, and we were happy to learn that there's this Wild Fork in Encinitas. Much closer to home. It's smaller than the LA store but seems to have the same inventory, at least the items that interest us. The store is bright, airy and welcoming. Meats and seafood are mostly flash frozen and cryrovac'ed. There's beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal, and game meats, plus seafood. Some frozen vegetables and desserts can also be found here. Prices are competitive. Service is very good. Every associate we encountered was friendly and helpful. No problem parking close to the store in a shared parking lot. Easy access to/from Leucadia Blvd with a traffic light. read more

Wild Fork is a quickly growing specialty grocery store that specializes in all varieties of exotic meat and seafood. I recently attended a grand opening celebration at this location. Local chefs were onsite showcasing their creations and giving generous samples as well. I purchased a bag of Texas shrimp, some Brazilian cheese puff balls and buns and the prices are reasonable. Everything in the store is frozen and many items are ready to heat and eat. Crowds packed the store on opening day and my family members enjoyed the samples they received. I think that Wild fork will be wildly successful because of it's convenient location and easy to prepare food. I may return in the future, however I am not the target customer for meat and frozen foods. read more

Alright I may not live in Encinitas but this store will definitely be one of my go to spots to go to for frozen groceries and some specialty items. The first time I came I ended up buying a wagyu beef tri tip and my goodness it was such a good deal for wagyu and it was super delicious. It is definitely something we will buy again. We also ended up getting some burgers and hot dogs because the pricing is truly incredible and saves you so much from your standard store. Just opened up near me in Encinitas. Was very quiet when I went in but lady working was very helpful. I wanted seafood and a rib eye. Also friend said chicken pot pie was good. Got a thick 1 inch plus prime rib eye, a pot pie and some shrimp, calamari and scallops. Pot pie good although gravy was bit salty The rib eye very good but need to learn to cook frozen. I went to the event Wednesday evening and loved the Wild Fork so much I took my daughter back last night to pick up some more groceries. The chocolate filled waffles are so good. We also picked up some more cheese rolls and garlic bread. So far everything we've picked up has been great! I bought my son a bacon wrapped filet and some small hassleback potatoes and he can't wait to cook then. The employees are amazing, welcoming and helpful. Store seems small but has a lot of great options and very well priced. We've been twice in one week and are looking forward to heading back again soon! read more

I love Wild Fork! I first found this store when visiting South Florida. I saw that one was supposed to open in PB but it kept getting delayed so was excited to see this location was open while visiting. I love their meat and side selections. They have all types of meats including chicken, pork, beef, other poultry, seafood, game meats and fun cuts that aren't always easy to find like Pichana and tomahawk. They also sell lots of prepared sides, desserts and also have seasonings and random items such as beef tallow. I love their sausages and beef. Definitely sign up for their emails as they run great deals that they send out weekly. The staff area always up for giving suggestions or talking about recipes. Be aware that pretty much all items are frozen and for me that is great but you may want to think about it if you are looking for same day meals. I'm big into bbq'ing and very particular in my meats. Often order prime steaks from Snake River or Creekstone and buy locally from Costco, Siesels, Butchery, etc. Wild Fork offers near Costco prices but more selection of premium cuts. Have tried their cowboy rib eye and tomahawk steaks and found them close to restaurant quality. Pricing is 50-60% of conventional stores. Highly recommended. read more

Wild Fork is a great addition to North San Diego County! This store is a carnivore paradise. The store is small but packed with high quality meats, appetizers and frozen vegetables and fish at a reasonable cost. Wild Fork is one of the few places to get pichana and plate ribs in San Diego and they have choice, prime and wagyu cuts to choose from. Wild Fork does deliver but experiencing this in person is much more impressive. Recipe cards are available as is spices and sauces. Great find and worth the visit. read more

What a horrible experience. I needed to make cat food for my cat because the only brand he eats is reformulating & unavailable. I purchased their most expensive organic pork, but in research needed to find out how long it was frozen and at what temp to kill parasites and what temp its kept at.....the store dosn't answer it's phone, called their head office..the jerk wasted 25 min of time I didn't have to waste, kept me on hold, I gave him the bar code, the expiration date, he kept asking me to provide a batch # when I told him several times there is NONE. then he wanted me to take a picture of the package to email to him? Why there is nothing left to see that I didn't tell him. Doing so would waste even more time (taking the pictures, downloading them to my pc, opening photoshop to format, then emailing it to him) doing something totally useless. I am so angry at them for this incredibly shoddy treatment and not knowing now, if I can make my cats food for him safely or not. read more

I have been very curious and excited about that place since I'm a bit g meat and seafood eater, but not so much anymore. I have a bad taste in my mouth. We purchased lamb,liver and ground beef Wich was 6$/pound not so cheap for frozen meat but it tasted awful, I wouldn't give it to my dog. The service was good, and the store very clean,but the first impression and taste that I have of the meat was horrible. Again I still have that bad taste in my mouth and won't go back. read more

Great addition for quality frozen seafood and meat in the neighborhood. Picked up their crawfish-tails, wild caught Chilean sea-bass and frozen plantains. We cooked the crawfish-tails for dinner tonight. Defrosted in vacuum sealed package in water then sautéed with butter and herbs and served over pasta with generous amount of fresh Parmesan. It was my first time trying crawfish-tails and I'd say the taste was very comparable to Argentinian shrimp. We enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to trying the sea-bass this week. Wish they had some fresh produce as well to make the shopping more convenient but that's not their business model. Prices are very comparable to other quality seafood markets. read more
