I went to Mission Seafood for Lobsterand crab legs. Valentines day dinner for my Husband and I. I ended up buying salmon and seabass too. The crab legs came out in crumbly little pieces, were tough and flavorless. The lobster tails were at best ok. The seabass was very good. The salmon had a awful smell of being old. I will NOT be going back to Mission Seafood anytime soon!!! Worst seafood market EVER!!! read more

Found this place searching for somewhere to buy snow crab legs.. they are a little hole in the wall family-owned spot with tons of fresh seafood options! The crab we got was so good and not salty and shriveled like what you'd find at Albertsons or Ralphs. The crab legs were sweet and meaty, and fresh! Love this store and their owners. I'm very particular about the salmon I consume as Atlantic salmon is not healthy. They carry not only a fresh, healthy salmon (believe Scottish), but it is also sushi grade and priced less than you will find anywhere else. Owners are extremely nice and helpful. read more

THANK GOD I found this place b4 New Years Eve... The lobsters were very good, the Ahi was an actual piece of fish.... (unlike FFarms that has become below average...) The Sashimi Grade Salmon was very good and the same price as FFarms... DO NOT SHOP HERE. This place sold me 15 pounds of overpriced and dead crawfish. When calling back they blamed me and refused to even speak to me then started raising their voice as to how they went through everyone of them to make sure they were alive. I boil 600-700 pounds of crawfish a year for catering - I'm glad I only started with a small batch. They will loose every bit of business from me and my catering colleagues. read more

I'm so very happy I found this awesome seafood market. I needed Dungeness crab for our traditional Christmas Eve meal. All of my usual sources were completely out of stock. They have live crab and lobster. They were kind enough to cook it on request. When I picked it up they had also cleaned it! That really is great customer service! A few months before this lockdown went into effect, my wife decided she wanted to try her hand at making sushi at home. Starting simple, we had California Rolls and homemade Poke Bowls a few times before making the decision of adding Salmon to the mix. Looking nearby for places that sold it sashimi grade, we found Mission Seafood Market. Small and unassuming, this place is tucked into a strip mall on the side of Mission Avenue, near Highway 76, down in the valley. It was a bit far to get to, but decent Yelp reviews and a cost we could accept sent us out to the coast to pick up what we needed. And when we got there, we found a great selection behind a well-kept counter, with just about anything we could hope for to make our planned sushi dinner a rousing success. The shop had a good handle on that overly strong fishy smell you expect from fish markets that have had some cuts out a bit too long. The salmon we got was nice and pink, held together very well, and had been frozen and defrosted pretty perfectly to give it that safe sashimi taste and look. My lady love was able to cut it into thick slices that held up well in and on every roll she made. In the multiple times we've been back, I haven't had any issues with quality or taste. About the only problem I've ever had with getting fish here is that sometimes they'll cut the skin off the salmon for you, saving you a couple of bucks in unwanted / unused bits, while other times they don't, and you end up getting much less usable fish for your money. Other than that, with crab meat and premade shrimp tempura in the freezer, live crabs in buckets by the door, and a myriad of tuna and ahi behind the counter, this has been a great place to come back to again and again. They've earned our trust with their quality, they've earned our loyalty with their flavors, and they've earned our repeat business with their selection and good prices. We'll keep making great tasting sushi at home and we'll be coming back here for the top notch ingredients to make it. read more

Just came here a little over an hour ago because I read they had sushi grade fish I walk in the shop and it smells VERY fishy but, it's a fish market so I try to not think twice. I go to get what was SUPPOSED to be "sushi grade" salmon... it was in the window labeled "sashimi grade" but looked very suspect. I asked the clerk twice if it was actually sushi grade and he reassured me "oh yea man dont worry". I live 4 minutes away so I went home right away, and take it out of the package and it smells very fishy... not a good sign. Cut all the skin and scales off, still smells fishy. I take one bite and it was absolutely not sushi grade in the slightest. VERY fishy taste which immediately tells me it is well overdue and not sushi grade whatsoever... cant believe I just wasted all that money. DISGUSTING. read more

Great freshness (deliveries daily) and less expensive than other fish markets. The halibut fillets looked awesome and salmon filets were super fresh.
