Most things I bought turned out great. The tuna, however, turned brown when thawed. My family was supposed to come into town and circumstances prevented the visit so the Wild Fork 90 day refund policy had lapsed. However, the tuna stayed in the freezer the entire time. So, it was bad when they sent it. Not a bad experience overall, but I'll try to stay local or go elsewhere next time I need some fancy fish. read more

This review has been a long time coming. I'm a regular and love their products. As a home chef I love that their meats are good quality and clean so you save time and know prep is minimal. What prompted me to write this review is that I received such amazing service which I usually always get but "KHARR" which is coded on my receipt was so kind to go out of his way for several customers including myself to make sure we got what we came for. I saw that it easily resulted to 5 times the sale it could have been had he not bothered to look. Thanks so much for making my husband's Father's Day weekend by getting the Chimichurri skirt steak! Im sure the lady who bought 20 bags of plantains wasn't complaining about her experience either. I was so excited to try this place out.. the shrimp tasted so salty not what we expected! My husband said the steak was not good he was nervous about it being frozen to begin with, not doing that again either. We got a few side dishes, the sweet potato dish was also gross no flavor and even our teen who isn't picky said it wasn't good. 0-3 and not going back we tried sorry. read more

I do like their meats but NEVER order online meats that are by the pound... I ordered a ribeye roast approx 5lbs.. I picked up and it was 4.24lb when you are feeding a certain amount of people you can not have them pick an undersized than expected 3/4lb is a big difference. They also charged my acct up to a 7lb. I called it's been 48 hrs and they still haven't adjusted the price on what I actually picked up. Should have be $77 and that's what I charged on my card. The charge was $129. They said well we charge you for a 7 lb but it can be anywhere between a 4-7lb. That doesn't go over well! They said they will credit me $20 for the mix up but I'm in for a too small of a roast for Christmas. They said well we get people that want a smaller one and pick up a larger 7lb and get charged for it. They claim their online and in store are two separate entities.. really?! So if you order online for pick up at the store, you are stuck with the pick. read more

Recently bought a frozen turkey breast which was very good, but there were two annoying older dudes working the cash register arguing with me about why I should give them my email so they could send ads. They were like used car salesmen, and kept pushing it. When I told them I got too much junk email already they started throwing out lame suggestions like "unsubscribe" (doesn't really work) and delete old emails (thank you Einstein, I do that constantly). It was extremely annoying. I thought they were a frozen meat market. They should stick to selling meat and stop harassing customers. Nobody wants your junk email. read more

The date of this review is March 23, 2022. This review is for their Grass Fed Bone-In Leg Steaks. I am an avid lamb meat consumer being raised to eat lamb meat. When I saw an advertisement Wild Fork Food's lamb meat, I jumped on the opportunity. I decided to buy a package of their Grass Fed Bone-In Leg Steaks. The package arrived in a timely manner and was kept in frozen condition. The package came with two pieces. The pieces were not individually wrapped, so in order to use one piece, I had to thaw out both pieces in order to separate them. Once the pieces were thawed, I opted not to refreeze the unused one. I used one immediately and the other one a few days later. I grilled the lamb steaks over charcoal. Both pieces were very thin and I seasoned them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Each side was grilled for two minutes. I checked the thermometer until 140 degrees F. I let stand for 5 minutes under a tent. The meat was juicy but not tender. It was a bit tough and chewy. The taste was strong and gamey. Based on my experience, I prefer Colorado or Iowa lamb meat. It is more expensive but I am more satisfied. I don't think I will buy these Australian Lamb steaks again. read more

Ok so I have given this place a chance since it first opened. Secret chances actually. it's just not worth it. The last straw was a $15 chicken i literally had to pluck feathers from once defrosted. Without exception their prepared side dishes are bland. Meats are average on quality so not worth the markup. Desserts, same... Nice, friendly staff! I had one gentleman take me around the store and enthusiastically share some of their most popular products as well as explain in detail about their freezing technology. The prices are great, especially the grass fed ground beef. I love the angus burger slider patty's as well as the frozen ground beef in a bag (a lifesaver for last minute meals!). I could go on and on but basically this is where I purchase all of my meat now! You have to check them out! read more

I hated it!! I was expecting butchers behind the counter cutting up my fresh meats!!! Huge shocker!!!! You walk in the store and it's very sterile!!! Cold decor and unwelcoming. I also did NOT like the color of many of the vacuumed packed meats!!! Not many organic items either! Which at this point doesn't matter, because frozen is not my thing for most shopping items!! Never heard of most of the brands they had!!! Completely disappointed!!! I will add that I LOVE grocery shopping, because I LOVE to cook!! I've been using other food delivery / frozen meat services for a couple years, and decided to try Wild Fork after seeing they were in town (I live in RSM). Their selection and wide variety attracted me to them. Ive ordered from them on 3 separate occasions, two delivered to home and one I went to pick up in store. Ive probably ordered about 35 lbs of meat across the 3 different occasions which included shrimp, scallops, ground beef, chicken thighs, chicken breast, whole chicken, chorizo, top sirloin steaks. In general the pricing here seems to be higher per LB, which wouldn't be an issue if the quality was there but it's not. Scallops being the exception, I was generally unhappy with the quality of all other meats due to lack of flavor, having to remove feathers from the chicken, weird coloration on the meat, or seemingly old/stale meat. The scallops were really good but unfortunately this will not be our normal meat store. I tried it 3x, hoping a bad experience was an anomaly rather than the rule, but my 3 experiences there have also produced consistently bad/unhappy experiences. If you're looking for a high quality, fresh flash frozen meat, I'd probably look elsewhere. read more

I don't go to the freezer section of a grocery store to get fresh meat or fish, so don't buy the hype that"frozen is better"! Like others I was super excited to go here only to find rows and rows of freezer racks of prepackaged meat and fish, not a butcher and a display of fresh meat. A sign said friendly butchers at your service. I asked where are the butchers, and I was told they are in Riverside! So I thought I would give it a chance, and we got the scallop and shrimp skewers, only to find out that they had been frozen over six months ago and they tasted as old as that at least. 80% sodium content for one bag of preseasoned frozen chicken. 20% per serving. Being the fat American I am, I'm eating the whole bag, but will need new kidneys soon. Same with there preseasoned ribs. The best part about the preseasoned ribs was that it didn't include any sauce, which means more sodium after adding sauce. Not really sure what they're going for here. Does more salt mean more flavor? I'd rather drink ocean water. Inedible. Can't even feed your dogs unless you want to get them new kidneys. Imagine this being the first time experience at this store. Now if you have some neighbors you really hate or someone you want to get a kidney transplant, I couldn't recommend their fine selection of preseasoned meats more. read more

I got a prime grade whole beef tenderloin roast here and made it for Thanksgiving. OMG, it was so, so delicious. Nearly everything in the store is flash frozen but don't be put off by that. They have a wide variety of meats, meat substitutes, vegetables, and side dishes. Some are cook from frozen and some you need to defrost before cooking. I've also gotten some good side dishes. I'll definitely go back. Worth checking out IMO. read more

My co-worker told me about this new meat market place in my area. I walked in and I felt like a kid in a candy store. This place has exotic meats you can't find anywhere else. I used to go to El Toro meat market for my brisket, Picanha and beef ribs that I smoke at home. This place is hands down much better! I recently bought their dry aged brisket, beef tongue and Picanha and it was high quality. I can't wait to try their suckling pig next. read more

I decided to check this place out after a friend tried their bacon. He said it was delicious so I made a quick stop to check it out. I was a bit surprised everything was frozen. At first I thought it was a bit unusual but when I did some research on their freezing methods my paradigm on frozen foods shifted. Starting with the bacon, absolutely delicious. The frozen side items were also very delicious. Almost too good. The quality that's kept in their freezing method actually works and I now prefer my meats from this place than other typical grocery stores. Some things I really want to try next is the bison and deer meat. Pretty exotic. Everything else we purchased has been really good and the frozen method doesn't disappoint. The goal of this place is to obtain freshness from the source to you. I appreciate this and I hope they stick around for a long time. read more

I stopped in and picked up a four pack of sirloin medallions, two chicken breasts, a pork tenderloin, pound of ground chuck, empanadas, frozen veggies, and a skirt steak I will be marinating in my homemade chimichurri. I bought ground elk, chicken sausage, and yellowfin tuna. Everything comes frozen, so keep that in mind. There are so many options for wild game meat, it's heaven lol. I've never bought USDA Prime Beef before. But I wanted to try it. I purchased a 2 1/2 lb. Picanha roast and cut it for steaks. I looked at a ton of videos first, because I didn't want to screw it up. We do not have the physical stores in Michigan so I've purchased via the delivery service in the past. The prices per portion are, for most items, very high. But I can get fits that aren't available here through Wild Fork FOODS. Until today the delivery was acceptable. The frozen foods were packed in a Styrofoam cooler with ice packs. This order has a delivery window between 9am and noon. I was given a link to track my purchase. Wild Fork Foods has started using a service called "Roadie" that has just anyone pick up items and drive them in their personal vehicles. The person who got my order started in Detroit. I live Lansing, nearly 2 hours away. Instead of the food being delivered between 9am and noon, this person showed up at 1:15 pm. She dumped a paper bag on the porch. She did not knock or ring the doorbell. My frozen food was cold but clearly starting to thaw. I called Wild Fork Foods and they told me they're only using Roadie now. I imagine because this half-assed service is dirty cheap for them. They don't give an option for a different service. Unless Wild Fork Foods decides its customers matter, I'm done with them. read more

We shopped here for a holiday meal for two and thoroughly enjoyed window shopping the WIDE variety of meats and cuts. They offered pretty much anything under the sun. I did not look for gator, but I suspect there is a chance they offer it. Regardless, we had a delectable rib-eye and since the wife is a fantastic steak chef it was "game on". I opted for a garlicky couscous for a side. We also grabbed a couple of the mini key lime cheese cakes to finish our meal off. They were quite tasty. Given the on-again, off-again pandemic issues and dining I hope a place like this flourishes so we can drop in periodically for a gourmet meal experience at home. I'm a new customer and am giving them 5 stars as everything was perfect. FEDEX delivered the 5 lb boneless leg of lamb with 1 pound of jumbo shrimp, all very frozen when I opened the insulated box. The pricing was amazing (far less than I pay at a butcher shop here). The meat was perfect quality - 5 lbs of tasty tender lamb and the shrimp delicious A constructive comment: might they use overnight FEDEX vs the elongated service as the box was a tad soggy on the bottom and dry ice had diminished inside BUT foods were totally frozen. Sooo my biggest complaint is that they send your meat in a bag. In the bag there is a brown bag of dry ice, this looked like regular ice to me so I chucked it in the sink. A few mintues later when I ran the water it started fogging everywhere and I quickly realized this was dry ice AND NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DISSPOSED IN THE SINK. BIG ISSUE. Really wish they would put a warning label on their bag as this is a huge hazard for pipes. read more

I am a HUGE fan of Wild Fork! I started ordering from them online over 6 months ago and was SO excited when I found out they were opening a physical store in my area. The quality and of meat and fish is superb. I've found it to be more flavorful and tender than what I used to buy. Sure, if I significantly overcook something it might be relatively tough or dry, but as someone who has a tendency to overcook, I've been very happily surprised at how much better everything turns out when I cook it using Wild Fork products. Even my husband notices a difference and he was very skeptical when I told him I wanted to try ordering from a place that flash-freezes their food. The thing is, there is a big difference between frozen and flash-frozen. Flash-frozen is basically "fresh" because the food is frozen quickly and immediately at the peak of freshness. It doesn't sit around and eventually be slowly brought to frozen. For that reason, it's more flavorful and nutritious. Even meat like chicken and ground turkey has a good flavor. It's not full of water either. When I buy, for example, chicken breast from most places, it drives me crazy that it shrinks to half its size during cooking. Not the case with Wild Fork chicken breast! And because their prices are so affordable, I can splurge on wild-caught fish and organic meats when I want to. I actually save money using Wild Fork. Better stuff for a lower cost? Yes please! I also love the convenience. I've bought some of their sides such as yukon potatoes, cauliflower rice mixes, French rolls, plantains/tostones, and desserts such as macarons. It's great being able to keep things in the freezer and easily be able to take out just what I want to use. And then there's the empanadas! Every time I go to the Wild Fork store, I buy at least one box. They are absolutely delicious and make a perfect, easy little lunch. The store itself is impeccably clean and easy to navigate with wide aisles and short freezers in the middle and tall ones along the wall, so you can pretty much see everything when you walk in. The employees are very friendly and helpful. They know the products and the store, and will even make recommendations if you ask. I first heard about Wild Fork from a coworker in Miami. Now we exchange recipes and give each other product recommendations. We joke that we're unofficial WF spokespeople, lol! I've gotten SO many compliments on meals I've made using WF products. I'll even be asked, "Where did you get this? It's SO good!" and I tell them all about WF. I love the variety too. Where else can you buy ostrich or alligator? Where else can you conveniently find SO many varieties of sausage from so many different regions? Although there is a store nearby, I'll probably keep my online membership as well. It's only $29/year for free shipping on orders of $35 or more, and I always get my order within 1 or 2 days (always within the time frame I chose, and I get frequent updates on where my order is). I cook for my dogs all the time so I order meat from here only since the price point is perfect (especially when you compare to chain grocery stores) for what I'm using the meats for and the variety is pretty awesome. So this review is strictly for online orders. I have been a memeber for about 3 months. Their food quality is great, the prices are affordable and cheaper then some of the stores here in Cali. The only issue is not with them but with shipping. They use UPS and out of the last 5 orders,4 have been delayed by a day or two. We would get one of the boxes but would be missing one. When i talked to wild fork they said there was a shipping delaye on UPS. Which doesnt make sense because they could deliver 1 package but not the second one which was shipped the same day and time. I Know its out of wild forks hands but they have the control to change who delivers and chose a carrier who is more reliable. Until they change from using UPS i will not reorder. I live 300 miles from their warehouse in sunny california, so the weather issue... its been 75 degrees and sunny all over. read more

Without even asking to touch my stuff I bring another cart from another store in there for a minute while I was waiting for my taxi because I have arthritis and I couldn't carry all my bags and she was taking all my stuff without even asking me and shoving me out it was weird . That was discrimination just because of the shopping carts I don't know but I am if I was a black person what would happen there. Before I had to walk a huge block to come over I called your # and nomatter what option I pressed no answer or return phone calls. I came for my first time. Didnt like how Your employee was telling me to not buy any wagyu and get some liver instead. I told him I need my iron up without my bad cholesterol to go up. He didnt understand wagyu as much as he knew about eating liver. I find your employees pushy to sell meet like there rushing to seel meet/fish. I have moderate arthritis in both hips and some other rare health problems. I walked with my service dog to check your facility out. Then the latin guy with a mean face told her to ask me to leave without a reason. Just please leave my store. I was in shock. I asked her sever times calmly why do I need to leave your store? Finally she saids were closed. The window sign and online say's 9 pm I was there less then 5 mins. at 8 pm. Then she says we didnt have any customers so were closing early. Well I told here I was thinking of buying something. Im a customer. Well my taxi finally shows up at front door and the women follows me like she was harrassing me to the taxi. Telling the taxi how to leave the parking lot. I told the lady to mind here on business and stop harrassing me into my taxi I called for to get home safetly With my Service dog ect.. I am a people oriented person and I would never tell someone out right to leave my store a pause to think of a bs reason to get a person out of a private business. Very bizzare. I read some other bad reveiews from a person like me who went out of there way to discuss the purchase he made from online. Very upset customer. Your meat and fish is a global product you can get from other people. I wont come here again dont worry and I will share this experience online for the humiliating moment I step foot into the store. They sell better then what you have except they dont have Wagyu yet. I still have no response. They hire anybody off the street I looked at the criteria for getting a job there.
