I've encountered this with others before, but he always has a terrible attitude. Any customer asking a question is a huge problem, apparently. Example: Self checkout. Discount is applied at the end, I get it. When you get to the end, it seems like you've finalized everything, are about to pay and they discount hasn't been applied. you're going to ask about it. Now, as Jesse, you can answer in a friendly way or just bark "YOU GOTTA HIT THE THING AGAIN!" in a real dick way. Based on his terrible tone, this happens frequently, and if that's the case, maybe it's your checkout system. At the very least, total hatred for the customer is not a good way to go - not the first time here or with him. Good news... There are so many places to shop nearby... Trader Joes, Sprouts, Stater Bros (I won't shop at Ralphs). They don't seem angry at the people giving them a job.

I left to find a worker and didn't see any so I went to self-checkout to see if the young lady there may have a had a walkie or something to help. Behind an organizer of reusable bags I could see a worker just standing there. David. The young lady asked if he could help me since she could not leave her post and he said he had a customer. He didn't. He then opted to call someone to the front who didn't come. He behaved this way all thinking I did not see him. I walked over to his checkout lane and looked directly at him to which he looked down. The young lady then came to help me as self-checkout was empty. It was fairly quick. Less than 2 minutes. She told me it'd be at the front. I know at this location, I can purchase liquor with an employee at self-checkout but I purposely went to David's lane. He couldn't say "Hello," look at us directly, or say "Thank you have a good night." while checking us out despite doing just that to the person in front of us and behind. Hmmmmmm? Interesting yes? I loudly thanked the young lady for helping us and leaving her post to do so while remarking on David not helping her or us. I wish I had asked for her name. She did not have on her name tag or it was on her pant loop. I didn't get to see it. This interaction will not stop me from going to this store necessarily, but I will not forget the interaction. To be that purposely evasive so loudly is poor work ethic and customer service.

A few months ago, I noticed Cotija cheese on the back shelf that was moldy and well past its expiration date, which I immediately reported to the cashier. Then just two days ago, my son purchased bacon that turned out to be two months expired. This doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, and it appears expired items are not being removed from the shelves consistently. I hope management takes this seriously and improves their inventory checks, as this is a food safety concern.

Only one person ahead of me at the register, so it moved pretty quick, all in all. Second time around I purchased a few items from the produce again (cherries and corn on the cob) as well as an indoor plant. I never noticed their plants the first time around, but they had a nice selection of plants both for indoor and out. You can see a little of their collection in my photos. This time around there were two workers in the front who appeared to be chatty and looking shoppers up and down as if judging them. I felt eyes on myself as well as I perused through their plants. Anyway, the checkout process took much longer as they had only one line open with 3 shoppers ahead of me and a few behind me as well. Well, the produce this time around was not as impressive. The cherries were an excellent price at $1.99 vs the $7.99 that I had just paid at another grocery store, but every cherry had a little shriveled dried piece connected to them that you'd have to peel off while cleaning them before serving them. The corn we had that evening was also very thick and meaty, but not a good meaty, if that makes any sense. I think I'll only come back if in the shopping center to browse their plants, otherwise skip on over across the street at Stater Bros instead.

My cashier was friendly, and, the cashier from the cashier stand behind her jumped in to bag my items, carefully placing the lighter items on top of the eggs I bought into one bag, and everything else into the other, all packed neatly.
