I went to Sections Deli yesterday to pick up sandwiches that I had already called in. I only needed to pay and grab my order, but owner Ryan told me he was going to ring up two other customers first. I didn't mind waiting, but it felt like he was intentionally taking his time. When it was finally my turn, he asked me to meet him on the other side of the store, handed me my bag, and said I looked mad and could have the sandwiches for free. I told him I was happy to pay, and he responded by telling me to "fuck off." I was shocked and asked if he had really just said that, and he doubled down and told me to get going. I've been a regular customer for years, but after being treated like that by the owner, I won't be back. Highly recommend love buying high-quality food here I've so far got the grass fed grass finished ribeyes & thinly sliced brisket Shabu style (if you love Korean barbecue, you know what I'm talking about), I even saw some Korean short ribs that I'm sure they can slice up for you without marinade,, pasture raised no corn no soy eggs in the color of green and brown, grass-fed grass finished oxtail, the freshest spring mix of lettuce ever that I loved. Service and staff are very friendly and helpful. We had their version of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. (I've attached a photo) At 1st glance we were underwhelmed, especially after all the 5 star reviews, it just looked average. However after the first bite we both said Wow. So they redeemed themselves with outstanding flavor and a great staff experience. Just wish there was more meat especially at the bread ends. read more

They don't offer sandwiches on gluten free bread but they do get shipments of gluten free bread in weekly-seems like they sell out quickly though. Stopped here today for the first time and will definitely be back. I love that this butcher sources excellent local meat, chicken, pork, etc. They also have fresh fish. Everyone was super friendly, even the customers, which was shocking. I've been to the Butchery down the road multiple times and always felt like they didn't really care about their customers ... I can tell you that is definitely not the case here at Sections. They took time to explain everything to you and you can tell that the staff enjoys working there. We will definitely be back! Finest butcher shop in all of Orange County! Love that they have grass-finished steaks, as well as pastrami and beef-bacon. My favorite cuts are their bone-in ones, particularly porterhouses and rib-eyes, often grass-finished. I've loved every steak I've purchased from here. Unfortunately I have not had a good experience here, and it's been every single time I go in. There are many people behind the counter but they don't ask if you need assistance. In fact I feel as though I'm bothering them when I ask for something behind the counter. Thought it was just me but my husband had the same experience. This place made me realize I like meat. Quality is literally 100/10. I'm super sketched out by grocery store meat and will only buy from this place. It's an hour from my house but I would walk five hundred miles and I would walk five hundred more to avoid ever eating a grocery store bleach dipped frozen chicken breast (that's mostly tendon) again. I have had been wanting to try Sections for months and finally took my mom with me today. When we walked in there were so many employees and not a single one greeted us or acknowledged us. We wanted to place our sandwhich order before shopping in the mini market. There were 2 girls standing at the register and when my mom and I walked over to it they still didn't acknowledge us. It was so awkward. Finally after staring at them for a while one of the girls asked if I was trying to order. After placing the order I shopped around and spent almost $100 on groceries then walked over to the other side of the counter to pick up my sandwhich. My mom and I waited at the counter for about 10-15 minutes while every single employee looked at us and continued to ignore us. It was not busy. Finally after asking - an employee handed me a bag that had been sitting somewhere behind the counter the entire time. I am super disappointed because I really enjoy the market selection but the experience makes me not want to go back or give them my money again. read more

Nicely laid out old school butchery with fresh and dry aged meats. Come here for the good stuff when Whole Foods just isn't enough. It's not quite on the level of say a beef palace like in Huntington, it's more of a curated experience than what beef palace offers.
