A fun shop with lots of books, swag and random fun items as gifts. It is a fun space in the first floor of an old house. We went with friends as they sponsor a lot of author talks, and the author books were very heavily prominent. It was fun to see staff picks and their comments which were hanging on cards above bookshelves. We had a fun browse and I'd go back anytime as a local bookstore is a fun space for a browse. I did also find some great fun cards for an event and little gems of items for presents. A definite fun spot to visit! read more

Visited on a very rainy day for the first time. I've been wanted to pop in for ages because I've seen all of the incredible author events they posted! They bring in some really incredible authors and it just makes me so happy to see. The bookshop itself was smaller than I imagined but with a really phenomenal selection. They also had some really fun merch/stickers and such as well! Also, there's a super cute covered porch you can read on! The staff was very friendly as well. This is such a cute shop set up in a lovely older home in downtown Franklin, Indiana. The layout is very nice and it's so inviting. I found a book and some stickers and also purchased a birthday gift card. The staff were friendly and helpful. My husband had dropped me off to run another errand so I took advantage of their welcoming front porch to start my book and wait. Thank goodness I do not live any closer to this bookstore, because whew the selection is top tier! It is a quick walk over from the courthouse which is pretty convenient and there are a few restaurants and coffee shops nearby too. Since they have so many author events, they have so many signed copies of books in store even if you missed the event! The booksellers are so nice and helpful too! read more

I love this bookstore! I was introduced to them when I went to a book signing they were hosting at the Historic Artcraft Theater. It is a house turned bookstore and they have a great selection of books, stickers, candles, bags, cups, and just about everything else you want from a book store at a reasonable price. This is a quaint little book store. On the table in front of me, as I walked in, were Girl Scout Cookies for sale. This building used to be a house obviously, so the front room on the right is dedicated to children. The front room on the left is for the adults. Don't forget to check out the back room on the left because you may not notice it until you check out like I did. I was a little surprised to find an AUTOGRAPHED COPY of a Jack Carr novel, "In The Blood" with his Navy SEAL James Reece character. If you have Amazon Prime and have watched "The Terminal List," then you are familiar with the James Reece character played by Chris Pratt in that TV series. "In The Blood" is the fifth book penned by Jack Carr featuring James Reece. I had not seen this book featured in any of the other five bookstores I have visited this week in their Current Publications section. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this book and it is autographed; a bonus for me. I did find a street parking spot in the same block on a Saturday but it was the last one. When I came out though there were two available spaces plus the one I was giving up. The next block was completely empty so there was plenty of parking, just not right by the front door. read more

Wild Geese is quintessential downtown Franklin. It feels like home (pun fully intended - it's a converted house) and every room is stacked with books. Staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is incredible, and they have a great selection to choose from. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than shopping online, but that's not really what supporting this small business is about. Absolutely worth checking out if you're a bookworm and in Franklin! I can always find something there that I have to buy! The events they host are some of the best I've been to, and they always do a great job of selecting great authors! An adorable converted house turned into a magical bookstore. Everything about this place makes you want to stay a while. There are 4 different rooms, including a children's books room and more of a crafty goods / knick knacks rooms. They offer both new reads and classic favorites. One aspect I loved was that several books around the shop were featured as "staff picks" so you could read about why the staff recommended these books. I was really impressed by the sales associate working there: she made it appoint to talk to everyone & had a great way of making connections & relating to everyone. It's enjoyable shopping in a place where workers genuinely enjoy their job. It's not a cheap shop though and there is no discount book section, so you might leave empty handed like me, but it was still extremely enjoyable! read more

Wild Geese is such a lovely little bookshop! Don't be fooled by the size of the space. The shop has a wide selection of books, including a variety of books by BIPOC and local authors, that spans many genres and audiences. They have gift items in addition to books, like local treats, enamel pins for book lovers, and super cute greeting cards. COVID safety note: they're only allowing five people inside at a time to allow for social distancing. I'm really looking forward to visiting again the future! read more

This is a charming little bookstore located a block off the main square in downtown historic Franklin. You'll find a mix to top sellers, recipe books, small clever gifts and a children's section in the back of the shop. It's a fairly small bookstore but they're able to place orders for you if something is not in their current inventory. My friend was able to pick out a quirky historic book as a Christmas gift. Prices seemed reasonable and in line with other independent shops (which are hard to come by in central Indiana). The children's section in the back is quaint but charming. It only would make sense that cozy and sweet Franklin would have an independently owned bookstore. Looking forward to future visits when I'm in town. read more

Even though it's a small space, the selection is very good and they have lots of the latest titles. There are also great gift items and a huge selection of literary pins! I've been in Wild Geese Bookshop before. It's cutest bookstore. Right in downtown Franklin. I actually ordered a puzzle! Yes, a puzzle. The owner was so nice on the phone making sure that was the exact puzzle I wanted. They have joy boxes that you can ship to anywhere. You can have one shipped to your house it doesn't matters. They have a website and you can choose between different types of boxes or you can order other items. It was fast shipping and it was nice to open the box and see a handwritten note saying thank you and be well! It's small touches that make a difference. Lovely little independent bookstore in downtown Franklin - definitely worth the drive from Indy. The spacious front porch is lined with comfy chairs, and there is a window seat inside lined with pillows (book print pillows!) in case you want to sit down to read a bit before purchasing your books. The selection is fairly small, but they offer a wide variety of books. There is also a separate room for children's books and some toys. After choosing your books, head over to one of the (several) nearby coffee shops to round out your Franklin experience. read more

Oh my god, have I found my new favorite bookshop? This is one of the cutest businesses I've ever been to! So comfy and cozy and they truly know their target audience. Somehow, every available surface is covered in such a unique collection of books yet the shop is spacious and bright! Everyone was incredibly kind and informative and I felt right at home. While buzzing around Franklin, I happened across this small bookstore about a block southeast of the courthouse. It looks like a cool cottage that seems warm and enticing on a cold winter day, so I stopped in. The space is rather compact with almost all the books in the main room. It is lined with bookshelves from floor to near the ceiling and arranged by book type. There are a few accessories/home decor items as well as books, but because of space, there isn't room for much other than the latest editions of novels in series, or the latest novels that are trending. However, that doesn't mean you are limited here. The woman who was working that day greeted me and asked what type (s) of books I liked and the more I talked, the more suggestions she came up with. I was impressed by the diversity of her knowledge! And, if I was looking for anything that wasn't on the shelves, she assured me she could get it within a few days. Customer service! The only negative for me was that I like to browse and see book covers (I know you can't always tell a book by its cover!), so the limitation on space made it necessary for most books to show only their spines which takes away from some of the enjoyment of shopping for a new book. But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my time browsing and chatting with the staff. If you like books and know what you want, stop in here and support local! Review #2078 read more

Wild Geese Bookshop is one of my favorite parts of Franklin. You'll find me pursuing and meandering slowly, soaking up that new book smell and hunting for the next book club read (there's actually an entire book club section so the hunting doesn't need to be hard). Recently relocated to a new location across from The Willard, this little shop has something for every reader. Delightful and diverse are the first two words that come to mind. I was grateful for the variety of books in different genres and diversity among authors. If you aren't sure what you're looking for, you will find staff picks and descriptions thoughtfully placed throughout the store. I appreciated the small town collaboration with a section of books that were adapted into films playing soon at The Art Craft.
