I've been a customer for close to three years. My regular order has been fifteen pounds every six weeks. The product has been very consistent, but their customer service has been less than I consider professional. This last month I received an email that looked a great deal like a college essay. It took the better part of ten full minutes to read. It was a long drawn out explanation of why they had to increase their rates. It honestly did NOT bother me that they were doing this. It happens. What I had a problem with is that at the end of the email they said I would see the price increase when my next order was shipped. What this means is, I would not be given a chance to cancel my subscription if I could not afford the new cost. I immediately replied to this email explaining that this was a terribly rude way to handle things and I would greatly appreciate knowing what my new rate would be BEFORE the order was placed. I received no answer. I then wrote two more emails over the next week stating the same thing. I got no answer. I have since canceled my subscription entirely. I will not do business with people who operate this way. I have to believe they did this to their entire customer base. It is grossly disrespectful. I cannot imagine anybody thinking this was acceptable. read more

I had a subscription for over a year. Probably 2 years. It seems to me that they purchase lower quality items farmers are trying to get rid of. I stopped ordering bacon because it was clearly end cut cast offs that were unevenly sliced (so you couldn't really cook them well due to one end being 4-5mm thick and the other end 1 mm thick. Also they were 95% fat, nearly all white. The ground meat was the next issue: most of the packages had faulty sealing. So when you defrost it, it leaks all over. They said it was from freezing and thawing but I've switched to purchasing ground lamb at the farmers market and there are no seal deficiencies. Third, they didn't always include enough dry ice to keep the package frozen until I got home. They say pull into your house immediately, but I can't do that if I'm at work. Hamburger was full of grizzle and fat. No way was it 90% lean as ordered. Spitting out pieces of grizzle and white veins or something in the connective tissue category besides meat. It was gross and threw the meal out. Sausage is salty, fatty and grizzly and bit into a bone. Not lying. The bacon was extremely salty and tough lines grizzle through it. The roast looks tough but have not had it yet. Cod fish was not very fresh and the dark line in center was like salt cod hard and dehydrated. Gross. Have not eaten the whole chicken yet. The fajita meat is full of fat and grizzle lines and had to dissect it before cooking and then it was still not good tasting meat. This company is a scam. Tried to cancel my subscription and the website says my e mail name and password cannot be found. Sent email to the customer service because could not get into my account and they sent email back to me saying to go into my account and follow directions to cancel. REALLY! I just told them I can't get into my account!! SCAM. Now I have to call my credit card company and put a stop on them. read more

I have tried several meat delivery services. This one was particularly interesting because they are free range and grass fed and organic and non-GMO. These were things that were all very positive to me. But unlike all of the other services, I have tried this company provides pieces of meats stacked and presented as one steak. I ordered four ribeye steaks, and each one of them was really a combination of cuts that looked great frozen, but were actually multiple small pieces of meat. Unacceptable. read more

Really enjoying the ease of this. Would love a lower fat content option on the ground products. I typically buy a 7% fat content or so because, of course, cooked animal fat goes where you really don't want it. A goal to work towards perhaps. In terms of the comment form Brian, yeah, the website could use some triage. Honestly, you can pretty much go to Chat or Grok and this point and ask the scary AI gods to write it for you. I haven't run into packaging issues yet, but appreciate the input and will watch for that. I read through the other reviews and there are certainly some concerning ones there. Thinking it would help to see some pics of the facility, maybe a vi or two showing their general process and QC process, and some discussion about the issues folks have raised here. Proper prep of packaging and shipping is paramount so I would certainly want to know the food is being packaged, stored, and shipped appropriately. I certainly wouldn't want to worry about checking to be sure the food is safe to eat or doesn't have contents that aren't appropriate. Hopefully all of this is addressed in a website rewrite. read more

Really wanted to like this service. I'm a huge proponent of making regenerative meat more accessible and affordable, but the quality just wasn't great. Some cuts were ok, but the ground meat had an extremely large proportion of fat (even though it said 80/20) and I often found bits of cartilage. The bacon was primarily fat which was unfortunately a consistent let down. Some of the meat was grayish and just generally didn't look too good. I kept going back to the website and their posts to see if others felt the same way, but the reviews on Facebook and instagram were suspiciously positive. Like overwhelmingly positive. Maybe I'm missing something here but the quality is just poor in my opinion. Luckily customer service was responsive and I was easily able to cancel my subscription and delete my account. Hope to find a better source of regenerative meat. read more

Have to agree with the other reviewers, this company uses low quality meat and relies on facebook advertising and paying for reviews on food websites to sell it to unsuspecting consumers. The large ribeyes were actually 2 smaller cuts of meat jammed and frozen together, couldn't believe this.. The meat is extremely tough and gristly, actually worse than steaks from the local Walmart. It's edible but definitely not worth the price or wait to get it. Their website is full of dark patterns to keep you subscribed, there is NO WAY to remove your payment method after you cancel or delete your account, you have to email support to remove your card info to protect from when this company gets hacked and even they said they don't know if an account can be deleted and they'd have to ask IT. Look elsewhere, this ain't it. read more

The orders have been complete and correct. The meat is not fresh. The beef is very bloody and does not have firm texture. The sirloin steak is 1/4 inch thick on one side and an inch on the other. The chicken thighs have been larger than a fryer thigh and tough. I love the concept but this is not quality. read more

Quality has gone down since demand has increased. Since adding in more farms to supply demand, quality is inconsistent and lacking. When the meat was labeled from the main Boulder location, everything tasted great and looked great. Now ground beef lacks color and flavor and chicken wings are terrible. They changed labeling so you don't know what farm is supplying it. Packaging is terrible too. Rips, tears, whole package full of air upon defrosting. I've been getting boxes from Wild Pastures monthly for about a year. The meat is always tasty and delicious. Since the animals are not grain-finished, the beef steaks can be tough, but they still have fantastic flavor. read more

I've been subscribed to Wild Pastures for at least a year, with delivery every few weeks. I order pastured chicken thighs, which are always good. I also get a lot of ground beef and ground pork. The tenderloins that I've received so far were thick and delicious. I'm not a big fan of the pork chops and bacon, but I get them anyway because they provide some variety to a diet based mostly on beef. I also get chuck roasts, which are usually just fine. I've never had the experience of steaks coming in pieces, like someone else mentioned. One sticking point for me is that some of the labels are marked with the farm names, addresses, and other details, while others are only marked with "product of USA". There is no mention of "grass fed and grass finished", or "pastured", or "humanely raised", or anything else. I am always suspicious of any meat that says "product of USA" without further detail, because it could technically come from anywhere. read more

I have had nothing but problems with their ground beef - either it's brown or it's under weight or it's just too full of gristle. And then I just noticed that I do NOT get 15lbs of meat if I substitute; especially the whole chicken. So I thought I was paying for 15lbs, but really it was 13lbs this whole time. I figured out I'm better off buying 1/4 cow and actually getting steaks, roast, ground beef, etc. than I am buying basically 11lbs of ground beef and 1 brisket from them. I feel very ripped off by their deceitful tactics. However, I will say their customer service is amazing. read more

A really scammy company with subpar products. 3/4 of the meat packages we received would leak in the fridge when thawing- they clearly weren't sealed properly. And every delivery would have at least one rancid package of chicken that we would just have to chuck. The final straw was when I tried to cancel an order by sending a message on their contact form on their website and never received a reply. The order shipped out three business days later. read more

Underwhelming in every sense of the word. The price is good but you get exactly what you pay for. The cuts of steak were all extremely tuff making them almost inedible. Ground beef has the consistency of mush and smells/tastes rancid. It's 80:20 and the rancid flavor/smell most likely comes from high levels of linoleic acid in the meat. I have had a lot of regenerative beef and this is hands down the worst quality of ever had. I seriously question if this is even actually regenerative beef. Current customer (new). We've had: Pork Roast, Whole chicken, pork chops, bacon, pork breakfast sausage, and NY Strip steaks so far and EVERYTHING has been AMAZING. First, their customer service is friendly and attentive. The box was packaged very well, we live in Florida and although the dry ice had evaporated (it doesn't actually "melt"), everything was still frozen solid when we received our box. Today, I'm going to use the ground beef we bought and I'm looking forward to using the beef stew meat. I tell everyone who will listen that the pork roast was the best pork roast I've ever eaten! It was divine. The chicken looked a little strange (because we're used to over-processed and freakishly pale store bought birds). It roasted up moist and tender, though and we ate every last bit. Unfortunately, I over-cooked the steaks, but they were still delicious. Great flavor and mostly tender, just a little drier than I like but that's entirely my fault. The pork chops turned out extremely well. I pan-seared them in a hot skillet, and seared the fat as well. No need to cut the fat off when eating, it was crispy delicious - another perfect meal. I also overcooked the breakfast sausage a little because I was expecting it to be like store-bought and full of fat. It's leaner than store-bought so it doesn't need to be cooked as hot or as long. (Learning opportunity). I cooked the bacon today and... amazing! The rendered fat is clear with a slight brown tinge from the bacon itself - it's not grey and weird looking like even "premium" store-bought bacon renders. Knowing that everything is coming from small, United States farms who practice regenerative farming makes me happy. I don't like supporting Chinese-owned farm enterprises (Smithyfield) or even US Conglomerates (Monsanto...). Overall, I 100% recommend Wild Pastures, I've already set up my second delivery and look forward to trying new cuts. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They take your money on Thursday for the following week's box and it takes over a week for delivery. All customer service has to say is "we can't do anything its 100% management decision". What a copout. Don't use this service unless you have plenty of time to waste and if you don't mind giving them money. read more

I have had a great experience with this company. Steaks look like steaks and chicken looks like chicken. We found the ribeye steak and the New York steak chewy. It is because it is grass fed beef and that is to be expected. We won't order those cuts again and we will only eat steaks from cornfed cows. We don't eat steak often so its not a deal breaker because they have substitutes u can order instead along with add ons. Customer service is great and answered my question the same day I asked. If u have a problem with ur meat message them. The pork chops are thick and delicious and the bacon is so good too! I have no other complaints about their beef, poultry and pork. I did deduct 1 star because of the steaks. read more
