I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and safety at Wild River in Central Point, Oregon. My daughter was hired and then left unattended by her supervisor, resulting in her receiving a first-degree burn on her wrist. Not only were other employees drinking on the job, but they were also handling food without washing their hands. On top of all that, my daughter was not given any breaks to use the restroom. I strongly advise against anyone working or eating at this establishment and believe it should be shut down. read more

Went in for the Brunch on Sunday: What a horrible experience for $15.00 per plate Biscuits were OK but sausage gravy was from a can, eggs were horrible, then only fries, salad and pizza. What a joke. Be sure to ask questions before choosing your meal. Not only did the staff not know the answers to simple questions, their menu was completely wrong. Many food items were not available on Sundays. Also the large sign outside advertising Sundays 15.00 buffet was not available due to an electrical issue. Floors sticky all over and many of the tables were dirty. After trying the one in GP I was excited that we had gone closer to where we live, but I have to admit, as soon as we walked in I knew it would not be the same. Completely different vibe, way more lax and I honestly just wasn't feeling it. No one greeted us when we walked in, you have to read signs to figure out how the ordering process works. I GET IT, some places try to make it easier and I'm sure it's better to not have as much weight staff but you order at the counter and then take a number and wait. We decided to sit at the bar and the bar tender was on her phone most of the time and just didn't seem to enjoy being there. The prices are alright. The food was decent. Our family has been going to this Wild River for over 20 years, but stopped going because of how downhill it had been getting. We decided to give it a try because our son that lives out of state wanted to go. He loved this place when he lived here. Holy cow!! I cannot believe how disgusting this place has gotten. Even worse than the time before, which was about 6 months ago. From the outside, the lights that used to look so nice are now hanging down, almost all burned out anyway. Inside is dirty, dirty, dirty!! No food menus. No beer menus with descriptions. Fountain drink machine covered in who knows what? Food on the clean dishes. (I uploaded photos) So very sad this has happened. I feel they are trying everything they can to keep the doors open, but this is not it! The ordering process was a pain, the waitress charged us for 4 ranches when we only wanted one. The food took forever to get. The chicken is now so generic - my kids couldn't even finish their chicken nuggets. And now the only chicken sandwich on the menu is made of the same gross chicken nuggets. They downgraded their breads to super generic. No flavor in the sandwich. The pizza size was smaller. The fries are literally DRENCHED in oil. And it's not cheap at all. I think we found a new goto spot in medford. Their house made pastas are impressive. You get a product that is usually reserved for gourmet restaurants and it is responsible priced. I have had two of their sauces and they are full of flavor. The salads that come with the pasta are also large with quality ingredients. On top of that the service is great. read more

I remember when this place was black dress pants and a button up, it has grown more casual in recent years but my goodness, this is too casual for us. Hope y'all change it soon. Thursday evening, 5:30, not overly crowded (besides the 2 of us, there were guests at 2 other tables). The food was good enough but the really off-putting thing was the bathrooms were FILTHY! I'm not talking about a little messy, I mean disgusting. 3 of the 4 toilet stalls were clogged with paper and poo. The floor was wet and dirty. The sinks were leaking and had a half-full bucket underneath. There were paper towels strewn all over the sink and floor. The thing is, that shows how little the staff cares for cleanliness. Great pizza. I love their seasonal special pizzas. They also have great hamburgers. They have great beer with friendly staff. On my last visit there was plastic in my sons soda and on the pizza. Some sort of packaging plastic. I did tell the waitress and she just apologized for it. I do think they need to clean their walls and fix some of the booths. Overall though I have had great experiences here and we love to stop by when we are in town. read more

Do not recommend this place for food or drink. Our group meet there for a meeting and they put us in the back room where the Arcade machines are and kids were playing the games which made it hard to hear what was going on at our meeting. They had a pizza bar for 15.00 pizza and salad, I looked at the bar and the salad toppings where splashed all over the place not cover over them so hair and spital to spread anywhere. I ordered a Pasta Salad and was told they no longer have it on the menu. I was told they are different than Grants Pass. Cave Junction and Brookings are run like their restaurants. Basiclally a serve yourself. So I ordered a Taylor Sausage Boat with spicy mustard. Thinking a sausage in a bun. When my order came it was a small bowl with a cup of mustand and the over cooked sausage around the cup. Also I ordered a Raspberry Ice Tea. He said go to the bar and she will bet you one. I went to the bar and the gal brought out two bottles. One peach syrup and raspberry. She said just squirt some in a cup. I said I have never done this before, h, ow much syrup? She said it was very sweet so not a lot. Then she said if you don't like it, dump it and start again. I went around where the soda and ice was and got ice then looked for the tea, seeing one that looked like tea I put it in my cup which was like a squirt, so I dumped it and went back to the bar and go more raspberry and as I returned noticed the tea beside the lemonade. So put the tea in but it came out very weak. When the meeting was over I asked the other folks how their meal was, then hearing from several that the vegetable on the pizza was not cooked, it was crunchy. I suggested next time we do a meeting lets go to the Grants Pass Wild River Pizza it is very clean and they have servers and the food is excellent. read more

Pizza is good, but we do NOT like the new order-at-the-counter/bar experience. No one checked on us to make sure everything was ok after our food was delivered. The bartender wasn't busy at all. Hope nobody expected more than a 15% tip, cause it ain't happening. (And even that felt generous for the level of service provided) There are too many other good pizza places that have full service. They have changed the menu. The pizza doesn't seem to be the same and now you have to order from the front of restaurant.

What happened here nobody seats you when you walk in, you go find a table look at your menu then walk back up to the front to place your order. The staff does not carry them selves well like they use to no uniforms. In this county with the limited dine out options this use to be a nice place with great service. this place use to be personable and a nice establishment and a great experience and it was worth the price. It's sad to see the condition of it now seems like they have really went down hill. For a pizza place this use to be top tier and now it feels like mountain mikes with over priced food. read more

We were looking for some really good pizza on our way down to California and stopped by Wild River Brewing in Medford. While the service was friendly and attentive, the pizzaleft something to be desired. The pies and the onion rings were a bit bland and the crust didn't really have much of a crunch. That being said, the atmosphere was pleasant enough, and there were some interesting menu options to choose from. While we weren't blown away by our experience, it might still be worth giving Wild River Brewing a try if you're in the area and looking for a casual dining spot. read more

Such a disappointment... I use to go to Wild RIver in Medford quite a bit for their Chinese Chicken Salad.... Stopped by yesterday and they had changed their menu .... for the worse. We are traveling to Texas and our first night stop was in Central Point. The wife had a hankering for pizza so I looked up pizza on Yelp as well as Google and this place popped up on both. It looked good, so we gave it a try. Wow, am I glad we did!!! This is the best pizza I've ever eaten. And I'm kind of a pizza snob. First off, they make their own dough in house. Secondly it's wood fired. Thirdly, they do not skimp on the toppings which are really, really high quality, locally sourced ingredients. I ordered a small Spirit of America which is a thin crust pizza, topped with a nice base of sauce and some great mozzarella. Then come the meats - Canadian bacon, pepperoni and linguica. Lots of meat. I also added black olives because the wife likes them. The crust had a nice crunchy bite followed by a bit of chew; the perfect tandem in my opinion. I also ordered a side salad which was nice fresh greens, some red onion, tomato, crunchy croutons and grated parmesan cheese. Plus a couple slices of cucumber. Ranch dressing was served on the side. They also served some house made crusty bread with house made garlic butter. The wife ordered the house battered fish and chips served with jalapeño tartar sauce. She selected sweet potato fries. This came with a coleslaw that she actual liked. I had a lot of pizza left so I wrapped it in foil for a lunch tomorrow. I WISH this place was in the Rio Grande Valley where we spend winters. read more

Well, someone clearly is aiming to close this place. It had great food (some still good) but they eliminated servers! You now have to order at the counter and they bring you your food. And, no regular bartender, but one "is usually behind the counter". You get your own drinks at a fast food soda machine (and have to walk to get them and refills). No silverware provided at all (apparently the dishwasher was canned as well). When our pizza came, it is cut up into little geometric pieces??? WTF? Who does this? Wood Fired Nirvana! I have had great pizza from all over the United States. However, whenever I visit Grants Pass I usually stop at the Wild River, even before I go to my relatives! I started eating these diamond shape cut pizzas in the 1970's in Cave Juction, right by my grandma Hazel's house. Being from California, I knew nothing about dipping pizza (and fries) in ranch dressing. I've been doing since the 90's, adding 200-300 calories to every meal It's like bacon, everything is better with ranch. The pizza is what I would call American Style. Medium crust thickness and toppings to the edge. Nothing really stands out: the crust, the cheese, sauce, and the toppings are all playing beautifully together in a symphony of exquisite taste. I think I can detect the smokiness of the wood fired oven. My wife does not agree, she says it's from the meats that I have on the pizza. This is the place where I learned to eat some thing other than a plain pepperoni pizza. The Spirit of America has pepperoni, linguiça, and Canadian bacon. I always ask for it well done because the small crispy diamond shapes on the edge of the pizza are like candy (or crack) with their caramelized edges. I heard that all of the meats are sourced locally and I can tell you that they are all very high-quality. Bonus: The fries are coated in fried chicken batter and are one of them best foods in the entire world. Zero Exaggeration! You could literally build a restaurant just around the fries!! I have had pizza from all five of the locations, all deserve 5 stars. If I ever get caught up and they give me the electric chair, Wild River Pizza will be my last meal. Truth. read more

We came by tonight for pizza and pasta. We found out they have made big changes. They no longer have wait staff or pasta. Mostly just pizza. We had to order at the counter. Then we found our own seats after getting our own drinks. When our pizza was brought to us we had to ask about plates. She told us where to look but there were none. I found some elsewhere. The pizza is still very good. But they no longer check on us or ask about dessert. Wild river had the best pasta in Medford. For some reason they have taken all pasta off of the menu. 50 percent of the time we go for pizza and the other 50 percent we go for pasta. So they just lost half of our business. With the new changes it is hardly worth going there now. read more

Last April apparently Wild River quit providing table service in the bar. You now have to go up to the computer to order food and the person behind the bar enters your order. We had to ask for menus and when our pizza was delivered they didn't even bring us plates. If I wanted a do it yourself dinner, I would have stayed home. I sure do miss customer service! Will not go back. My family waited nearly two hours for our food and the only reason it came when it did was because I finally walked to the front desk to remind them we existed two separate times. Came here for dinner and ordered a large toco pizza and they gave me what looks like a medium cheese pizza in a large box with all my toco things in a bag to put on myself which you shouldn't have to do! Had to walk up to high counter and order, then go to bar to get our drink which were sitting where a server would pickup, then seat ourselves and get our own Togo boxes. What a joke. After a 45 min wait for a small pizza it was like warm. And they didn't provide any plates or silverware. I was taking my partner here to give it a chance because they hadn't really been in the restaurant but once, and I was talking up the pasta dishes. Unfortunately most of the non-pizza stuff is gone and so is the wait staff. The AC wasn't working either, and we couldn't stand to be in the building, so we left. :( I get that they are trying to simplify things and cut costs, but the self serve cafeteria vibe just isn't it. read more
