I went on a Saturday and it was Karaoke night. Lots of people, so lively and fun Had an absolute blast there with the Boyfriend and friends. Will definitely go back again. Drinks are average price nothing crazy about the same at every bar I have been too lol

With a ton of beers on tap, knowledgeable staff, and good bar food the Gypsy is our favorite little bar in Medford.

We started with the deep-fried pickles, which were a letdown. They tasted like basic bottled pickle slices lightly dipped in flour with minimal seasoning--nothing special. Dinner didn't improve much. The menu items sound really appealing, but once they arrived, the flavors were bland. We ordered the Irish stew, and the meat was very tough. Tried cutting it in really small pieces so I could chew it, but it wasn't worth the effort. Had a few pieces with gristle and fat. I ended up picking the meat out and just eating the carrots and potatoes. We also tried the famous meatloaf, which was the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed it, though the portion could have been a bit larger. The gravy was tasty, and it came with peas and mashed potatoes. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were great, the dishes lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what was served.

The ambiance, was classic pub throughout, and we enjoyed this quite a bit having just returned from Ireland few weeks ago. The food was properly done though I felt that the chowder, which was delicious, was a bit tepid and could have been a bit warmer.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a cozy little restaurant inside with a lot of cool pictures from the early 1900s. I wish I would have taken pictures of the decor but it was a long day of driving and I didn't think about it. All the food was really good. My husband had a French dip, my daughter got a cheeseburger, and I went with the chicken quesadilla. The avocado didn't work for me but being a California girl, I get it. My daughter's French fries were the absolute best restaurant fries I've had in a loooong time. My husband enjoyed a local beer and I went with my standard white Russian, which was nice and strong. They had a really interesting cocktail menu, but I wasn't feeling adventurous there. As for service, outstanding. Our server was so friendly, attentive, and helpful with all of our questions and requests. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future road trips now that we will be driving though from time to time! I tried to add more pictures but they don't seem to be uploading ‍

You HAVE to make a reservation or you don't get through the door. The door actually takes you into a barbershop at Tinseltown and then (with a password) behind it, recreating a speakeasy experience from the days of Prohibition. And they ask you to dress up--no jeans. That's kind of fun, but it's really all about the food. INCREDIBLE FOOD. Four of us had 2 different beef steaks, rack of lamb and swordfish steak. ALL done perfectly and tasty, as well as various sides. No one regretted their choices. The service was impeccable--attentive but not intrusive. And then there were the deserts: the four of us shared 3 different deserts and all were to die for. I'm a longtime baker with varied experience here and in Europe and never had better deserts anywhere. Not a place for kids--no one under 21. Mocktails as well as wine and. cocktails. And fairly expensive but well worth it--we were celebrating a birthday and when they found out delivered the deserts with a huge wonderful sparkler. They have special event nights with live music and they also have burlesque nights--so ask. But you can go to just relax, enjoy and eat well.

Our friend called at the front door and explained the situation, my husband was in a soccer shirt (clean and well fitting) the reply, "get a shirt at TJ Max." WTF! None of us have ever been treated so rudely at a restaurant. Clearly they don't need business. Thank goodness there are so many good restaurants to choose from, we certainly won't bother with butterfly club again. Good luck to them.

The front of house was a little confused and strategically out-of-line with the location next to the movie theater. I came for dinner and a movie on a Friday night, 90 minutes before showtime. The place looked at half capacity with loads of open tables inside and outside, but they were reporting a 30 minute wait to be seated. If I had not come super early, it probably wouldn't have comfortably worked out. If the business had the right mindset, I'd probably be back for dinner and a movie all the time, but the front of house didn't seem charged to get people through. A strategic miss!
