I absolutely love this bar. I visit my family every summer for a few weeks and always look forward to coming to Gypsy. I love sitting outside on their patio, it's so much fun and very chill. It's a dive bar, not a lot you can say about that. When I was there, a handful of "locals" chatting amongst themselves, while I was at the bar waiting for a drink but I was not to worried seeing how it's a dive bar. Unfortunately there was a homeless man who was able to purchase a drink and he was sitting right next to me, I had to make sure to watch my surroudings seeing how the bartender did not seem that worried he was in there. This did not discourage me from not going back, when and if I have time to grab a quick good cheap cocktail I will return. read more

The weakest poor in Oregon for a jack and coke. Went to 7 different establishments for a jack and cokes and here we were tasting each others to see if you could taste the jack. Don't know if she forgot to add the liquor but we won't be back. If your not a local don't expect great service as they only care about locals. read more

This is a weird one. The tap list is outstanding, the staff is super nice, but it's just kind of.... Weird. The lights are far too bright, and outside of the one wall that looks like a bar, the decor is incredibly sterile. Also: how can you have a place called a "blues bar" that has literally no music playing? The sky blue walls and ceilings coupled with the silence of no music kind of makes me feel like I'm drinking beer on a corporate sales floor. A corporate office with a slot machine that keeps playing the same scale over and over and over. This is Hell. Lower the lights (like, a LOT,) change the wall and ceiling colors (or add some wood to make them match the bar top,) and play some music so we don't only hear the slot machine and the music from the kitchen staff, and this place will probably rule. I'm still giving it 4 stars because of the potential, and I hope that they take this as constructive criticism rather than just me slamming them. read more

Stopped in for a drink on my birthday, and was highly disappointed. Two ladies sitting at the bar were exceptionally rude to me, I was standing a good 5 feet away and they yelled at me for not being 6 feet because they hadn't received their covid vaccinations. I, a caring citizen, have received my vaccination and attempted to move further away when the bartender yelled at me and said I would need to go across the room. My friend and I proceeded to do as instructed, enjoying ourselves and laughing when we were threatened to be kicked out by the bartender for being "too intoxicated". Our first drink of the night wouldn't have done that and we should be able to lightly joke around and enjoy ourselves without being reprimanded. I felt the interior of the bar was trashy, the drink wasn't properly mixed, and the rudeness of the staff and her friends were uncalled for. Would not recommend. read more

It was fun until the bartender started screaming at people. Me and my friends went up to the bar and ordered drinks (we all ordered them separately) and the guy rubbed his forehead and then screamed, "NO, it's $32 someone give me a card for that amount right fucking now," By far the worst service and the bartender screamed at multiple people who were simply trying to order drinks. If he doesn't like being there he should probably find another job. read more

The only bar we frequent, the gypsy blue is quaint with a slightly sexy ambiance and good beers on tap. We moved here from Portland, so finding a bar that wasn't full of video poker (granted, gypsy blue DOES have video poker, it isn't overwhelming) and old alcoholics crowding the bar, was a challenge. The hardest thing about moving to a new town is finding a new bar. Seriously--bars are so difficult to get right and as anti-bar as I am these days (since the non-smoking thing happened), It's been a long time since I've been happy with one. Especially here in Medford. I'm happy to announce that The Gypsy Blues has made it's way into my heart. Thanks to fellows Yelpers the old man and I stopped in last night because of the supposed beer selection. Robin was bartending and she was very cool. She suggested the best beer for me (Longboard Lager) and guided us on the best appetizers, along with the best dipping sauces. I have to say that the lasagna bites ARE out of this world. The corn nibblets and fried green beans were great too-although not homemade. We also tried the fried mac and chili dog, which my hubby gobbled up in no time. The vibe is laid back and Robin was even sure to let me know her name as we were departing. The next time we get a chance, we'll be back!!! read more

The Gypsy has been a long time favorite of mine. The staff here really are great and work their asses off to get the job done. There is a healthy selection of tap brews (30?) as well as bottles (to go even!) to choose from which are generally as cheap or cheaper than going to the market. The food is really well done with large portions and they have some healthy options and vegan items. Pool table, lottery and a rotating selection of pinball games. In the middle of one booth is even an old school pacman game that is a table. Jukebox, karaoke and live music which are all great. This bar caters to more of the alt crowd and during the day is a great place to meet up with friends or just relax with the tenders and friends. People feel right at home here and is a regular social space for many. Keep it up guys! read more

This place has the most beers on tap of anywhere in the Rogue Valley, including four on nitro. It is a laid back "locals" style place where you can usually meet one of the owners, Clay and Robin. It feels almost dive bar-ish but is cleaner and nicer. It's definitely a nice place to get a pint, and with a full bar and decent bar food, there's something for everyone. This place has a "well kept secret" feel to it. If you're having a night out in Medford this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

Favorite bar to hang out in so far in Medford. Pool table, juke box with some abnormal tracks, cheap drinks, dim lighting, and there is usually some cannabis related literature laying around somewhere. This place isn't trying to be anything but a comfy bar, and I'll take that over all of the other businesses trying way too hard and making you pay for it. The bartender was pretty friendly but did ignore me for a few minutes when I first approached the bar. Also, he put half a lime in a short glass for my Moscow mule. It was so sour and acidic I could barely drink it. My friend ordered a ginger beer so I used some of his to balance my drink. On the second round i asked for a tall glass hoping to fix the problem. This time he put the juice of an entire lime. Agh. He stepped out to smoke and I grabbed the rest of the ginger beer he left on the bar to correct my drink. Bar stools broken felt like I was sitting on a balance board... told the owners ( nice people ) year later same broken bar stools. Said they had WiFi but even the owners never gave me a password that worked. Bartender drew me a pint the beer was off asked to get comped and try another... The answer no way buy another... walked out never been back... Maybe it was just me... NOT! read more

My boyfriend and I love going here when we want a low key night of fun away from the typical bars downtown. It's a small space, which is only a problem when karaoke is going on because it's impossible to talk to the person you are with, but still fun. I love this little place right downtown Medford! The service is extremely fast and I actually have really good food which took me by surprise. They have slot machines in a pool table for entertainment as well as a state of the art jukebox. I was very surprised that you could slide your debit card to add credits to the jukebox. That was very cool. Every Saturday they do karaoke and it's a blast. read more
