Henry Cowell Club Sandwich. YUM!!! (Sorry, I ate the other half before taking the photo)
Andrew F.

I love this market, and it's my go-to stop for beverages and occasional sandwiches when out and about on my motorcycle near BC. I'm finally writing a review because I stopped there last week and I was starving. I walked to the back deli counter and checked out the menu on the wall of their specialty sandwiches. The Henry Cowell Club jumped out at me and it was perfect. I didn't need to change a thing, and I ordered one from the friendly young lady who helped me. After ordering, I walked up to the beverage case and grabbed something to drink, then returned to retrieve my order, which was damn near done and ready when I got back there. That was fast! (*they weren't busy) I thanked the sandwich master and went to the front to pay for my stuff. The cashier was equally friendly, as were the other customers. A woman was in front of me with a cart full of items and she allowed me to go ahead of her. Very kind. I paid. I thanked. I departed for the coast where I was going to eat this masterpiece. When I got there and unwrapped the sandwich, all I could smell was bacon and fresh bread. It looked delicious, and it tasted even better. Fresh soft bread, thick bacon, tender turkey, crispy fresh produce, and just the right amount of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich as I sat on the rocks overlooking Waddell Creek Beach. Looking forward to trying one of their other specialty sammies next time! Store is VERY clean and welcoming. The only thing I knock them for is the prices could be a bit lower. $10 for a sandwich is pretty steep, and it didn't have very much turkey in it for that price. Either lower the price, or add a couple more slices of meat.

the sandwiches are super yummy and the sushi is fresh. I go for lunch all the time and they have a lot of other healthy options!

Best deli sandwiches ever!!!!! Here is a pic of my rainbow chicken salad sandwich on toasted gluten free bread. The staff is wonderful and takes COVID seriously and I feel safer shopping here than at Felton Wild Roots. Thanks y'all!!!

I went in last Wednesday and got this custom sandwich. Audrey and Dustin provided the best customer service, fast, efficient & delicious. Will definitely visit this location again. 10/10

Expect more, pay more. It's nice not having to drive into Santa Cruz for organics. Wish the vegetables (lettuce) was fresher.

Good selection of vegan and plant-based goods! There's also some prepared foods, including a case with sushi and sandwiches.

As you enter, you'll see the produce section, which is neat and very fresh looking. I bought a pack of avocados and each one was perfect. There are the usual market items (like meats, seafoods, chips, etc.), but few (if any) national brands. They also have some dinnerware, like bowls and such, made by local artisans. They looked really nice, and I was tempted to buy some but resisted. The star, though, is their deli. There's a good selection of premade sandwiches, salads, sushi, baked goods, and some hot food items. You can also have sandwiches made to order. They have a few "signature" sandwiches, but you can also build your own. My only small complaint is they only have vegan mayo. It's not bad, and not very noticeable, but it lacks the creaminess and flavor of real mayo. What we ordered: + Roaring Camp signature sandwich - this is turkey with cranberry relish on your choice of bread (I chose sliced sourdough). It was excellent. + Custom sandwich on sourdough roll - the roll was fantastic; slightly soft and chewy. Sandwich was excellent. + Potato salad - this was very dill heavy and a little runny (vegan mayo?), but after a few bites, it really grew on us. By the end, we were loving it. Everyone we encountered was very chill and friendly.

Outstanding local market in tiny Felton…read more This has a great crunchy vibe. Natural and healthy foods and loads of craft beer ( if you are feeling crafty). Organic all the way for many products here. I got a sandwich for a picnic. What a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and efficient. They don't add a lot of salt and pepper on the same, so feel free to pick up some packets if you are feeling particularly salty.

I like to come here for a quick meal when I'm running out of time to dine in somewhere. The staff are friendly, my mom brings her store coupons to use that come through the U.S. mail. Sign up here with your info to hear about their weekly ads and specials. The staff always seem to know where items are located when I ask. The store is very organized and clean. Parking is available outside of the store.

I've came here on two different occasions. Yesterday and 1 week ago…read more First, the açaí bowl I got last Sunday was completely wrong. I ordered their tropical blue crush bowl. They did not have any blue chia pudding because no one made it that morning, they didn't have any mango chutney, AND they didn't even add granola in my bowl like the description stated. Highly disappointing. Second, I got their tropical smoothie (don't remember exact name) which has orange juice, passion, and other fruits I can't remember plus a swirl of coconut cream lined on the cup... The drink was not aesthetically pleasing. Didn't see a coconut cream swirled. The drink tasted just like straight orange juice only but blended with ice. I always go to New Leaf in Capitola on 41st Avenue whenever I visit and they've never messed up on my orders (except for once when they didn't have mango chutney either). But the drinks they've made for me and the açaí bowls were yummy and good looking. The workers at the juice/coffee/açaí bar here just seemed very lazy and I've been here 5+ times.

Constantly scolding the kind cashiers in front of customers for very minor transgressions which is not a good look. Very disrespectful atmosphere. No wonder turnover rate seems high. Little containers of fudge at checkout covered in fuzzy white mold. Frozen goods are icy/freezerburnt and seem like they've been defrosted several times. Prices are consistently high. They recently added a self check that has not been turned on/usable a single time in the few dozen times I've been here, what's the point? I go here because it's 15 minutes closer than Felton Safeway, but the "convenience" is heavily outweighed by other factors.

It's not that hard to detect fruits and veggies past their prime. Packaged food literally has the date printed on it. If you're buying stuff like packaged blueberries, open the packaging and inspect the blueberries quickly, you'll find out in a matter of a few seconds if things are good. Fresh blueberries have a kind of frost sheen and are very firm. For fish, a quick eye test will tell you if there's anything wrong with it, and you can always ask the fishmonger for a quick sniff too. I liked this market quite a bit in particular because I found a brand of potato chips which I hadn't seen before. Made by an Irish company, they cut the potatoes thick with the skins on for maximum texture and earthiness. The flavor I chose was Black Truffle with Butter and oh my was it difficult to put down the bag. So smooth with balanced truffle aromas and a hint of black pepper to make things interesting. I am going to try to find this brand in the stores closer to me because Ben Lomond is one hell of a drive from South Bay...
