First of all this place is open on major holidays. We were missing a few things for Christmas dinner and just love that we can just hope to our local market to get everything we needed. They offer much more of a selection than when they first opened. They definitely have a variety of many different ethnic foods and ingredients at a reasonable price for most of it. For some things their pricing is similar to Safeway, others more like Whole Foods, but for the most part they are reasonable. Especially for a local neighborhood market. I love that the market is open and that they have an amazing selection. Way more than a normal corner store. This store has my support and I shop there often hoping that my little bit helps keep them open and profitable. read more

It's a convenient local grocery market in the neighborhood. It looks small but it seems like they have pretty much everything you need for a quick shop. They have pretty good selections of Asian products and middle eastern snacks as well. They just expanded their produce section outside too and always sell fresh items. Well worth a visit! read more

What a gem of a little market! Actually, not so little. They have everything you could need. The shelves are full, it's super clean and organized and well priced. My girlfriend raved about this market for so long that we finally went and she was 100% right. It's like the offerings were specifically picked for me. See my photos because there's so, so much, but specifically they carry great quality products like Eonoke canned smoked oysters and mussels (try the lemon pepper smoked oysters - they're a whole meal in a tiny can), and ice creams like McConnell's out of Santa Barbara and Marianne's out of Santa Cruz, along with Jeni's and all the usual high premium suspects. They have all the ingredients you need to make any Dubai-chocolate dessert, like frozen shredded Kataifi and jars of pistachio cream, as well as DuFour frozen puff pastry which is made with BUTTER which makes a HUGE difference in your recipes...the other brands are margarine and DuFour can be hard to find. They've packed a ton of products into a small space. There's even a deli situation in the back. Plus produce. Is it pricy? Absolutely. So you're not doing your weekly bulk grocery shopping here. But it has the fun items you've found that you like plus you'll discover more. Also, very convenient location IF you're a hiker or dog walker or biker, as it's on my way back from trails. read more

I'm really glad to see this store in the neighborhood. It's only been been there for a week or so and seems to have a lot of happy customers. The market down the road - a Safeway - was on the list for upgrading, but it didn't happen - so it's probably the scrawiest Safeway in the East Bay. This is a real good place, lots of interesting merch, fresh vegetables and fruits, good prices. They say they're going to be adding meat and fish soon. Check it out. read more

Watch out for expired products! I've bought a few expired things without checking the dates because I assumed they'd be on top of it. And I'm not talking a few days expired, several weeks expired. I want to like and trust this place but got burned too many times and now I check the dates of everything because they do have a good selection and are very convenient for my neighborhood. What compelled me to write this review is that the bbq sauce I got from them a month ago had expired in 2024... smh. read more

I'm really glad there's a family-friendly community market here! There's a great selection of fresh produce (organic and not), snacks, frozen goods, pantry staples (incl. salt-free canned goods, Asian sauces, baking supplies, etc.), nonalcoholic drinks (incl. hop water), and household goods. I'm especially appreciative of the healthier snack options, international treats, and allergy friendly options including vegan baked goods, almond and cashew butters, and gluten free items. The store is really well stocked and clean, and even has little shopping carts for kids. So far it doesn't seem very crowded but that might change as more people discover how wonderful it is. Great place when they are on point. This would be a 4-5star review but it seems like they can't get the pricing right on items that have no pricing. I chose to purchase chips from them and they priced it at $6. These were small bagged chips. They didn't have it priced until I went to the counter. Next week I came there and same thing happened. I told them it was $6 last time I came and they priced it at $7. After the third time this happened, I stopped coming. Places who do this really bum me out. Great selection but it seems they choose to not price certain things and they price it at whatever they feel like which doesn't make for a great consistent experience. read more

Other than location, this place is okay. Too pricey to do a big shop and annoyingly out of the little things that I needed, like whole milk and plain yogurt, but they had just about every kind of sheep and goat dairy you could even want! Maybe just got them on an off day, Their wines in the $20 - $30 range didn't impress me much - a lot of unknowns and cheaper labels you'd find at half the cost elsewhere. Not a huge fan of New Zealand and Australian wines. Keller Market does a better job in that department. read more

Positives: 1) Added Beer, wine, & hard liquor. 2) Basics as far as meats (Mary's raw chicken selection, ground beef, bacon, sausage, lunch meats) 3) Eclectic variety of sauces and international items. 4) Good dairy section. 5) Decent frozen section and vegetarian/vegan selections. Negatives: 1) Twice now, they've missed putting something in my bag (including this afternoon - Bag of Tillamook shredded cheese). I tried calling once I got back home and saw the item on the receipt wasn't in the bag. Phone rang 10 times with no answer. Tried again 5 minutes later and same thing. Out 6 bucks. 2) Produce is very hit and miss. Today's example: when bell peppers are that wrinkly and rotten, throw them out versus hiding the new bells behind the nasty ones. I get putting the new dairy or dry good behind the older items (as long as older items aren't expired) but rotting fruit and veggies don't work that way. 3) Pricing is hit and miss too. Many items have no price so you're kind of rolling the dice at checkout. 4) CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE (because they don't). I've had baked goods, candy and tortillas sold to me that were well past the BB/expiration date. Bottom line, I wish them success and will continue to return when I need a few items quickly (and don't want to deal with Safeway)... But they need to get more focused on some of these basics. In the meantime, you and I need to be more attentive shoppers from checking dates through checkout pricing and bagging if giving them business. read more

I can't believe I've forgotten to give this place the five star review they deserve! I am so happy that this market came into my neighborhood. Not only does it have an amazing selection for being a fairly small market but it has a lot of boutique type of foods as well. A lot of great healthy options And an excellent selection of greeting cards from a local Oakland artist! The staff here is as nice as can be and the convenience of the store cannot be beat. I literally can park directly in front of the front door every time and walk straight in and be out again in under five minutes sometimes it is just a couple minutes. I can be at Safeway in 2 minutes, if you can park, or I can turn the opposite direction and in 2 minutes be at the skyline community market. Parking is a breeze and they have a good variety of products. A huge bonus is no long lines to wait in. I choose the market every time. They are friendly and answer my needs. This is a great community market with a lot to choose from, safe area, plenty of parking. So what's the downside if any: I've noticed as of late that a handful of items are past their expiration date. This is something that I have to look at on almost every item I buy now. There's a new grocery store!! It's close to the corner of Skyline and Redwood Road, it's a bit set back, but there is a lovely welcoming sign. I stopped by after a hike this morning to check it out. Turns out, they just opened yesterday. I decided to go all in and support this new neighborhood market by getting my week's groceries here. They had nice looking produce, a substantial condiment and pantry section with items from around the world, a good selection of vegan products, though they don't shy away from meat either, and an ample snacks and sweets section. They carry our favorite frozen soup dumplings! And a few of my favorite chocolate brands! Eek! I'm so excited and will definitively be back. Staff were super friendly, asked for requests re: items to carry in the future. My favorite was seeing the neighborhood roll in and gasp with delight. read more

Delightful selection of international foods. They have a Slavic section for all your borscht, smoked sprats & pickle needs. A middle eastern section with a fab selection of hard to find canned veggies & and beans. Small but excellent cheese selection including a difficult to find Swiss (from Switzerland) shaved hard cheese. Multiple Asian sections - Japanese, Thai, Chinese... With a wall and aisle devoted to wines, and many products appropriate for curated gift/picnic baskets- one is left feeling it is a place for a certain "community" where money is no object- and prefers to deflect other communities where it is read more

Didn't know what the neighborhood was missing until this popped up! They fulfill my grocery needs, except for meats unfortunately, but otherwise the selection is terrific. I love that they have an entire probiotics section which I've recently gotten into, which according to...science...has tons of benefits. Prices aren't necessarily any cheaper than what you'd find at Safeway/Lucky, but it certainly feels better to support a local store than a big-chain. read more
