Tried and true local market. Slightly more expensive than a big box grocery store but it makes up for it with its quaint mountain town vibes. They have great gifts in the front of the store and a banging cheese and meat section for all your charcuterie board needs. Seriously there's like nine different types of olives... it's pretty impressive. I've never ordered a sandwich but it has been on my to do list. I don't normally like grocery store sushi but theirs is surprisingly tasty and good for a quick lunch. I've tried quite a few of their "ben lomond market" house brands - from Bloody Mary mix to marinades to spicy olive juice (they apparently really like their olives!) and all have been great. I've always had great service from the cashiers - my only comment is it'd be nice to see more people throughout the store if you need to ask a question. All in all, I almost always find what I need and then some!

He took the time to answer my questions, offered helpful suggestions, and made sure our order was exactly right. What impressed me most was that Rhys was working the deli department by himself, yet he remained patient, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout the entire interaction. Despite being busy, he never made me feel rushed and treated every customer with professionalism and care. It's clear that Rhys takes great pride in his work and understands the importance of creating a positive customer experience. Employees like him are the reason customers return and recommend a business to others. Thank you, Rhys, for making our visit such a pleasant one!

As you enter, you'll see the produce section, which is neat and very fresh looking. I bought a pack of avocados and each one was perfect. There are the usual market items (like meats, seafoods, chips, etc.), but few (if any) national brands. They also have some dinnerware, like bowls and such, made by local artisans. They looked really nice, and I was tempted to buy some but resisted. The star, though, is their deli. There's a good selection of premade sandwiches, salads, sushi, baked goods, and some hot food items. You can also have sandwiches made to order. They have a few "signature" sandwiches, but you can also build your own. My only small complaint is they only have vegan mayo. It's not bad, and not very noticeable, but it lacks the creaminess and flavor of real mayo. What we ordered: + Roaring Camp signature sandwich - this is turkey with cranberry relish on your choice of bread (I chose sliced sourdough). It was excellent. + Custom sandwich on sourdough roll - the roll was fantastic; slightly soft and chewy. Sandwich was excellent. + Potato salad - this was very dill heavy and a little runny (vegan mayo?), but after a few bites, it really grew on us. By the end, we were loving it. Everyone we encountered was very chill and friendly.

Organic all the way for many products here. I got a sandwich for a picnic. What a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and efficient. They don't add a lot of salt and pepper on the same, so feel free to pick up some packets if you are feeling particularly salty.

Pretty unique flavors that aren't that easy to find elsewhere. It's right next to Johnnie's Super, so you can park your car in either location and check out both stores at the same time. Pretty convenient! Honestly, almost everything in the town of Boulder Creek is all in that one clump. You could totally grab a drink at Wild Roots or Johnnie's and sip away while checking out antiques at Boulder Creek Antiques nearby. Wild Roots does seem to be a chain as I noticed another one in neighboring Felton. For me personally that's not an issue but if you're a stickler for "local" local then you might want to try other stores.
