She completely enthralled our group of two adults and two teens. The ride was so peaceful. We booked the first slot and the horses were alert and ready to work. My beautiful horse, Winter, listened well and took very good care of me. Even though my guys liked their horses, they were so jealous that I got to ride her. It's cash only and please tip your guide. She/he will make or break your experience. The prices are very affordable. You won't regret booking Wild West Ranch. Fun tip: if you get Lisa, tell her you read great reviews about her on Yelp. Mackayla was a lovely guide to our intimate group of four through the beautiful 80 acres of winding trails through woods. They warned me Tangled might try to be a bitch, but she was sweet as could be. Whole staff was a hoot. Can't wait to go back! read more

An Amazing adventure in the middle of God's country. I wanted to take my mom for the first time ever horseback riding. When I called, the owner answered all my questions and assured me they would accommodate my 75 year old mom, who has never been on a horse, with whatever she needed. This 80 Acer venue is filled with trails upon trails where you are led on horse back through the woods for approximately one hour. Our lead Lisa was a blast! She kept the ride interesting and I loved her charismatic personality. Everyone there from the moment we arrived was friendly and had wonderful customer service! I will definitely be back. read more

Worth the half hour drive from Saugatuck to saddle up and hit the trails. We rode Oscar and Meyer (they don't have a horse named Weiner, I asked) and did an hour and a half ride with our guide, Alexis. The horses were well trained and easy to lead and although the first part of the ride was mostly on a dirt road, the second half was through a lovely wooded area. Helmets are available. Bring bug spray in the summer, as the mosquitos and flies were rampant. read more

These people were super rude from the initial phone call. They act like we're forcing them into giving us a horse ride. They were so condescending and pretty much declined service without checking the availability they had. Oh and if you're going there make sure you have a list of how many pounds all your friends weigh so when they ask you rudely you'll know what to say Instead of being caught of guard like me. There's a way of saying things to customers and they definitely have no talent with the way they treat people. read more

She was knowledgeable and friendly and even quick enough to snatch a horsefly right out of the air who had been bugging our horses. My wife's first experience riding a horse had not been good (before she knew me!), so I was hoping that this place could do a better job -and they definitely pulled through. The owners seemed a bit rough and short both on the phone and in person, but apparently they were smart enough to assign someone with good people skills as a guide -we rode with Cheryl and highly recommend her for beginners. They have a great stable and had horses both for my small & light wife (she rode "Trouble," whose character couldn't have been further from his name; I rode Ashley) and myself (I'm rather heavy), and the ride was very agreeable and relaxing (don't forget your sunscreen if it's summertime, though). Note: They don't provide helmets (must be the "Wild West" part). Interestingly enough, I hadn't been on a horse since my teenagehood, and had learned to ride in France (we had a hot-tea-loving horse). I thought I was going slightly crazy, but just confirmed with a friend that I actually remembered things correctly and that the riding styles, saddles, reins, etc. were very different Western/French. (I guess it goes without saying that this is a "Western" riding experience.) read more

We visited the ranch last weekend, and had a great experience! It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We did the one hour tour, which started out walking down the dirt road and helped us get comfortable riding. I have had very little experience riding and my fiancé had never ridden before. Then we walked through a path in the woods and trotted a little. The scenery was great and we had so much fun! We would definitely g back. The tour guide was very chatty and answered all of our questions. They also had two dogs on the ranch who greet you as soon as you show up! Super friendly an cute! We loved the golden retriever, Charlie, he was so sweet! It's worth a trip out there! read more
