What a fun little place! I adored the authentic village scenes, but I wish the clog maker would have slowed down and actually explained the process rather than continually looking at her watch. I especially liked the street organ and we did stay for the clogging demonstration. It was obvious they were missing a pair of cloggers, dancing with 3 couples rather than 4, and many times the dancers were "lost" on where they should be. The frustration was visible on their supervisor's face. We had lunch at the onsight restaurant. The service was slow but the food was good. What have I stumbled into? The best tiny amusement park in an outlet mall parking lot ever? Very possibly. They offer a massive gift shop, some kiddy rides that have "You just be shorter than this" signs to ride. Rustic little paths. And a giant self-playing organ. It's been more than a decade since the last time I was here. This time I had two young children in tow so it was neat to see it all through their eyes. There are rides, animals, gift shops, fudge making, Dutch goodies, and even see how wooden shoes are made. You can see Dutch Dancers perform in their authentic costumes and wooden shoes. This place is adorable. Plenty of rides and things to explore or learn about mixed with food and entertainment - and a great gift shop with all the things you need and want from a trip like this. We were here on opening weekend and although there was a good drive that let you in free with a donation, it wasn't overly crowded likely because of the overcast sky. Our party was 2 adults and no kids. From the reviews I thought it was worth a visit and was read the food was reasonable and good. We saved $2 per ticket by buying them online. There is a separate entrance for those that already have tickets. The line went smooth. I used apple wallet for my ticket. We asked for a map at the gate. We asked if there was an activity schedule and was told the Dutch dancing was just about to start and pointed us the way. We were thrilled as our main reason to come to see the Dutch dancing. The show was well done and they gave a short dance lesson at the end. It was better than we expected. After the dancing we sought after lunch. We had some trouble reading the map and we saw everything along the way. We watched a detailed demo on wooden shoe making. It was a very explicit lesson/demonstration. This was another thing on my list of what I wanted to see. It exceeded my expectations. Next we learned about the length of time/steps it takes to grow a tulip. I had no idea it was such a complicated/exact process. You can't just plant once and have a lifetime of tulips. Next we tasted dozen or so different types of cheese. I question how hygienic it was. You're supposed to use a new toothpick each time. The group in front of us used the same toothpick the whole time. We took the risk. Crossing our fingers we don't get sick. Next we went to the five factory and had the most amazing piece of walnut fudge. Finally we found lunch. I ordered #3. It was perfect. The pea soup was delicious. It had potatoes and sausage in the soup. It also came with an amazing roll and piece of Dutch cheese. It was even better dipped in the soup. It also came with an apple pastry. It was good, but there was so much food I couldn't finish it. The food was much better than expected and very reasonably priced. My husband has a flight of beer for only $10. It's a steal. I highly recommend visiting this place even if you aren't toting kids with you. We spent 3 hrs there and saw everything and had time to sit and relax too. read more

We came here on our last day in Michigan over July 4 weekend. Weather was cloudy and luckily didn't rain. Driving was fine and scenic to holland but on small roads since off highway away from Grand Rapids. Admission is cheaper online like others mentioned. Grounds are well kept and some areas closed for construction. My son loved the tractor ride and also water balloon fight with launching slingshots. We did the carousel which rotated with the swing ride since only staff member to run both rides. Also, water balloon fight only open when dancing not being performed. They had sign that they were dancing when nobody was around to man the booth. Ferris wheel was really large compare to other small carnivals so my son liked it alot. Staff wise you can tell they keep it lean probably to keep cost down for admission. But we didn't have to wait too long to do rides. Cheese tasting was highlight as well as making own stroopwafel with free ticket. Food was good and authentic but kids preferred their familiar Jersey Mike across the street. Overall we had good time and spent most of morning when it opened at 10. There is petting zoo that you can get a feed cone for a dollar. Also small playground for toddlers and another one of large wooden shoe for older kids. Several other exhibits like shoe making and others which we skipped. It is good do once for kids 5 and under but probably not to thrilling for older kids. read more

Pretty small and kind of randomly located among busy streets, but it's cute, especially for kids, and has a handful of fun photo spots. Seems to be staffed largely by local high school kids? Several of the staffers we saw throughout were part of the dance performance and that's when they mentioned they were from the local high school. Did think the dance performance was cute, and enjoyed seeing the baby goats on a little petting farm they had during our visit. Oh, also enjoyed sampling some Dutch cheeses which were pretty good! I saw the Dutch Village a few years ago when I was in Holland but it wasn't open at the time. This trip we made it a point to stop in and it didn't disappoint. We had a group of 6 adults and 1 child and everyone had a great time. There were rides, a petting zoo, wooden shoe carving demonstration , dancing, excellent fudge & cheese shops, huge Dutch gift shop, and much more. The food at the Hungry Dutchman Cafe was good and reasonably priced. The Thirsty Dutchman had some unique flights and they had several Dutch and craft beers available. A perfect spot for families, so much for kids to see and do. As two adults we felt it was primarily geared toward the families of young children so we didn't spend much time here. We absolutely loved interacting with the animals (bring a $1 for a cone of feed to give them) and playing the ring toss game! We also got to watch the wooden shoe dancers and were very impressed with their skill! We had such a fantastic experience at Dutch Village in Holland, and it was made even better by one amazing ride operator -- Mel. Mel runs the Flying Swings, and he went above and beyond for our family. My two sons, Davis and Derick, are in their 20s and have a few challenges. Mel welcomed them with such respect and kindness, letting them enjoy multiple trips on the ride so they could really soak in the fun. He made sure they were safe, happy, and having a great time, and that kind of genuine care is rare these days. We can't thank him enough for making their day so special. We also tried the banana pudding, which was fantastic -- creamy, flavorful, and worth every bite. There was a gentleman named Morty who seemed very eager for us to wave at him (we're still not sure why!), but it didn't take away from the great time we had. One of our favorite moments was visiting the Shoe House. It reminded all of us of the "Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe" story our beloved Grandma Shirley used to read to us when we were kids. That little nostalgic moment was the perfect touch to an already wonderful visit. Dutch Village is full of charm, but it's the people like Mel who make it truly special. We'll be back! read more

There is so much for kids to do. You can ride the rides as much as you want. My kids like the swing ride the most. They are always trying to add more things to do. There is also a petting zoo, which the kids love. Their cafe has nice options for a meal, there is a small bar with interesting drinks, and their fudge is delicious. Holland, MI is well-known for showing off the rich Dutch culture. Nelis' Dutch Village is the perfect little attraction to stop at, have fun, and learn a little something. It was pouring down rain when we came, and thankfully it stopped, otherwise I probably wouldn't have deemed it as worth it since most of it is outside.It is $14 for an adult, which wasn't too bad since we did everything the park offers. You can think of it as an outdoor museum with animals, rides, food tastings and the cutest of gift shops. I recommend doing a cheese tasting, which is free for a couple samples or $1 for 6. It's not your ordinary type of cheese you can just find anywhere! If you go in the gift shop, you can get your own wooden clogs fitted, and even get your name carved in them. I wasn't expecting to learn so much before coming here, but you really get a good feel of Dutch history. It's pretty awesome. Nelis' is one of those tourist destinations that you shouldn't miss out on. read more

We took our 1.5 & 2.5 boys here during our vacation to Michigan. This was such a wonderful park. Our young toddlers could do almost every activity. Spent the afternoon in this quaint village with my kids in Holland Michigan. At first, I thought the village was very small but it just kept going and going. Enjoy the carousel, water balloon toss contraption, merry go round and a swing ride. You can tell that the equipment is outdated with rust and imperfections but it was nice that it was not crowded as we went on a Monday. Petting zoo has lots of fur babies to pet and animal food was only $1 which came in a waffle cone. The highlight was the llama and the rooster in the petting zoo. While enjoying the rides, you can also learn about the history of Holland by visiting the walk in museums. I looking at the website, it looked like the grounds were pristine with landscaped areas but various parts of the park was under construction and landscaping was not well maintained. Overall, it was a very laid back hands on experience. Don't forget to stop by building 37 to make your own stroopwafel! read more

This was one of our favorite places when visiting Holland. The venue was not massive and there were little things to do for a variety of age groups. It was a plus to have some animals (e.g. chickens, llamas, goats). If you are kids are a little bit older (e.g. 2~3), they will enjoy it more yet given that our daughter was 1.5, she still enjoyed it. Good choice of design (the huge wooden clog) along with a small store that was sort of like a mini museum about cheese making, if I am not mistaken. It's also a plus that you can get some snacks/lunch while there. I could easily recommend this for families with kids. read more

It's pretty neat that once you pay the entrance fee, there's nothing else inside that's extra except for food and drinks. This is also a surprisingly large area to walk and take in the sights. We actually drove out of our way to check this place out and I'm so happy we did! My kids (13, 7, and 3) loved it! My older two really enjoyed the Ferris wheel and the swings. My youngest was obsessed with the carousel. We all enjoyed watching the dancers in the wooden shoes and the fact they invited the audience to join in at the end. The place was is also set up nice and pretty and felt like you were in another country. All the shops had cute tourist stuff and the cafe had pretty decent food. With a name like Dutch Village and the promise of tulips, I had envisioned something a bit different than what this place is in reality. I guess I kind of thought it would be in a rural area? The reality is, they're pretty much located in a strip mall parking lot. That said, they do offer tons of fun for smaller kids. With your entry ticket, you pretty much have access to everything inside the village for no extra cost. There's a ferris wheel, some games, and an occasional performance. Oh! And, farm animals (goats, pigs, rabbits). It's definitely a spot I'd recommend for a fun little outing with small kiddos if you happen to be in the area. It looks like it might be cool to check out during their tulip fest (again, the location isn't as charming as one would expect for a tulip festival--just to be clear on expectations). I wouldn't drive a distance for it though, and wouldn't really recommend for older kids. read more

Visiting in Holland, cooler day and wanted to do something different with the kiddos. This was suggested, I was in at Stroopwafel. Perfect for kids. They loved the Ferris wheel, swing ride and petting zoo. For unlimited rides the price of admission was about what we have spent on rides only at carnival/festival type events. Parents & grandparents loved it too. I'm not a ride type and was coerced on the swings and had a lot of fun riding them. It's kitschy in the right way and i loved all of its charm. Lots of insta moments with all the Dutch inspired houses, flowers and backdrops. A lot of the demonstrations have been stopped due to COVID and they were taking care with wiping down surfaces between riders. I'm pretty confused as to why this place is so expensive, but it was quite an enjoyable stop. My mother was looking for Speculoose Cookie molds. After asking around town at quite a few different shops, this place was recommended. And it was a success!! I'm sure most people buy these molds to hang on their wall for decoration. But my awesome mom will actually use them to make delicious cookies. There was actually a decent selection of these molds! I would have been surprised if they'd only offered one or two. But there were actually several to choose from. Mom bought three on our first visit and then returned the next day for two more! While she was shopping, I really enjoyed walking around. I got some great pictures of my baby girl by their colorful wooden tulip display! We also looked at the wooden shoes, blue and white china, cuckoo clocks, t-shirts and sampled some delicious cheese! I'm not sure that I'm in a rush to pay for a return visit, but it a pretty cool place! read more

A cute little theme park for families that offer small rides and an area to shoot water balloons at one another. It is located just off the highway so it is not all that inviting from the street but there are a good amount of things to occupy yourself once you are inside. Is it worth the money? Maybe.
