After the fire, you could find ZANI set up at community markets in Flagstaff. Unfortunately, with a…read morebooth they were limited on items. They had a booth at the Sleigh Winter Market, and I'm so happy I asked if they had opened back up! Yes, they are back in business full-time! ZANI always has had a great variety of cards, but they are so much more! I love their jewelry, especially! I popped in for some last minute, holiday gifts, and they even boxed them up with a festive bow. I should've taken a picture before my friends unwrapped their gifts, which they loved by the way. I am going back this week for a switch plate that I fell in love with! Everyone is always helpful and they have a diverse selection of items, so you're sure to find that perfect item for yourself, or for a gift. The prices are fair, and this is a wonderful local business to support! Parking is a breeze, as they share the parking lot with Beaver Street Brewery and Fratelli Pizza. Free parking is always nice! The next time you're looking for something special without the hassle, you won't be disappointed with ZANI.

Clearly priced, the way items were grouped together made sense, and really pretty products. The sales woman was friendly and available but not pushy at all. And she offered to gift wrap! It was a joy to be here and I found some great gifts! Can't wait to go back!

During our weekend…read moregetaway, we stopped by twice for their refreshing drinks - I had the Peachy Palmer which was a nice balance between tea and the tart, sweet lemonade. My husband had the Rastamon Lemonade which was a mix of lemonade and citrus blend tea. We enjoyed the drinks so much that we ordered them again. The lounge offers a variety of seating, some cushioned seats in the window and some tables inside the lounge. We will be back the next time we're in Flagstaff!

Also no (they do have tea lattes) Hot chocolate? Technically yes... but even that comes with Earl Grey tea inside. These folks are deeply, passionately committed to one thing: dried leaves steeped in hot water. And honestly, they do it well. If you're a tea lover, this place is your Disneyland. The selection is impressive, the vibe is relaxed, and the people behind the counter clearly care about what they're doing. There's a real enthusiasm here for the craft of tea, and that kind of passion is always fun to see. That said, my one issue was a pretty important one on a cold Flagstaff day... My tea showed up lukewarm. Now normally I'm a pretty forgiving person... but when it's 40 degrees outside and tea is the entire business model, this feels like a pretty big detail. When tea is the whole menu, temperature isn't a detail... it's the headliner. I like the concept. I respect the passion. It's just a bit limiting for my taste, and the execution missed slightly on the most important note. Three stars. A cool idea... that just needed to be a little hotter.

We were looking for some food souvenirs to purchase as gifts and came across the Sweet Shoppe Candy…read moreStore. This is a candy shop that's small in size but bursting with a ton of different confections from all over the country. They have the Goo Goo Clusters from Nashville, Moose Munch from Medford, Hammonds from Denver, Claeys from South Bend, etc. It's certainly an eclectic selection, well appreciated for variety, but we were looking for locally made items that could keep well in the Arizona heat. We ended up purchasing some prickly pear cactus candy and their in house made mountain bark. Mountain Bark ($5.25 per square) - This is essentially an improved rice crispy treat crossed with fudge. There are tons of crispy popped rice bits interspersed with soft gooey marshmallows, some chewier melted white chocolate bits, and plenty of peanut butter flavor. It's a denser cake vs. a light and fluffy rice crispy treat, but is, dare I say, more delicious. (4/5) With such a wide variety of delicious treats, Sweet Shoppe Candy Store is definitely a great place to pick up some candy.
