After the fire, you could find ZANI set up at community markets in Flagstaff. Unfortunately, with a booth they were limited on items. They had a booth at the Sleigh Winter Market, and I'm so happy I asked if they had opened back up! Yes, they are back in business full-time! ZANI always has had a great variety of cards, but they are so much more! I love their jewelry, especially! I popped in for some last minute, holiday gifts, and they even boxed them up with a festive bow. I should've taken a picture before my friends unwrapped their gifts, which they loved by the way. I am going back this week for a switch plate that I fell in love with! Everyone is always helpful and they have a diverse selection of items, so you're sure to find that perfect item for yourself, or for a gift. The prices are fair, and this is a wonderful local business to support! Parking is a breeze, as they share the parking lot with Beaver Street Brewery and Fratelli Pizza. Free parking is always nice! I happened upon this place while gift shopping. What a find! They have a great selection that includes something for everyone. Love the variety and how neat and organized everything was. Clearly priced, the way items were grouped together made sense, and really pretty products. The sales woman was friendly and available but not pushy at all. And she offered to gift wrap! This is a jewel of a shop. The gift items are made by local artisans. The cards are different and very nice. They gift wrap free with lovely hand made paper. There is free parking in a lot reachable through a small alley right next to the parking kiosk. read more

The first place I go for gifting or a card! They have the BEST cards! Cards you won't find at Walgreens or CVS, these are hilarious. They will even wrap it or make me a nice looking gift bag so it's ready to go. Or if a friend is coming to town and needs a post card or local Flagstaff Arizona merch, I send them here. I loved Flagstaff and I loved the hippie (tie dye) earrings that I bought here for just ten bucks. In fact, I like them so much that I haven't worn any of the turquoise earrings that I bought in NM. I haven't taken off my bohemian earrings in almost two months! Some of the things in this store are overpriced (six bucks for a handmade greeting card...I'll pass) but the Jeff Caylor earrings were a rare find. read more

I was really impressed with this shop. When I visited, the owner told me she just took over Zani from the previous proprietor. Her enthusiasm for the shop and for Flagstaff was infectious, so much so that I ended up buying a lovely necklace. Cool! A necklace that incorporated watch parts! I love my necklace and ALWAYS get compliments on it when I wear it. Zani also has pretty greeting cards, paper, and unique gift items. It was fun to browse and chat with the owner. Visiting Zani is a nice experience. The tone is always very nice, the gifts in good taste, and the owners is often found in a playful mood. If you see a man behind the counter who looks like a hippy prophet monk, be sure to ask him some sort of slightly existential question about things to visit in the area. Dean's expertise in all things Flagstaff is like being hit in the face with a lovely logic infused custard pie made out of silk. read more

On my last trip to Flagstaff I started to panic when I couldn't find Zani in it's usual spot. I was relieved when I checked into my hostel and found it situated in it's new location across the street from my room! Zani is the perfect place for a fun and interesting find in Flagstaff. My aunt lives in Flagstaff, and we always stop in Zani's when I come to visit her. She also purchases my mom and I gifts from Zani's which we always love. The owner Alex is fantastic--she remembered me even though I come in at most once a year, and she's very friendly with my aunt. If she doesn't carry something in the store, she'll recommend where you can purchase it in town. The selection is very unique, but there are a few items in particular I always seek out: --The carved wooden night lights--we have one in our home, and have used them as gifts for friends as well. At $29 (last time I was there) they're a steal for being so unique. --Paintings by Dolores Ziegler. Alex always lets me know if she has additional pieces in the back too if I don't see anything that immediately catches my eye. --I've also purchased several cards, pieces of jewelry, pottery bowls, etc. Everything is priced fairly and I never feel I've broken by budget, but always feel I've found something precious. If you're in Flag for a few days and are out shopping, I absolutely recommend stopping by Zani's. It's not part of the 'downtown' shops but Flagstaff's so small, everything is a quick walk nearby. read more

I'm always as excited to give the cards as the gifts! The shop is full of handmade items by local artists. The new owner is always cheerful and helpful. Cute shop with a lot of hand-made gift items and leather journals. They seemed to specialize in paper as there were a tonne of different kinds in the back of the store. I don't get the 5-star reviews because the prices are up there and if you don't have mass amounts of disposable income, this isn't the type of store you'd frequent for any sort of item. Still, if you're looking for something for the avid writer or collector of quirky memorabilia and have deep pockets, this is a place to check out. read more
