We love this dog park - there's always a bunch of parking in the parking lot across the dog park. They also separate it into two sections, one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Both sections have bench and table seating, as well as sand and fake grass/turf all around for the dogs to run around in and do their business on. They also have water bowls, tennis balls, and poop bags & trash cans all around. The parks are well maintained and we haven't had any issues at either park, other than little flies that fly around us during humid or warm weather. We also found that the small dog park has a little more shade than the large dog park. All in all, my dog loves it here, even though the dogs can be a little antisocial sometimes and just stick around their owners (like mine). read more

Large dog area - First, The Good: plenty of parking (street and lot), most people and dogs have been friendly, maintenance on par compared to what I've seen at other dog parks, and the turf isn't ideal but it's better than an all dust-land. Also, the small-dog area looks to be a bit nicer and offer more shade. Next, The Bad: across 2 visits within the same week I've seen at least one person each time, either watch or be told that their dog pooped and do absolutely nothing about it. Ironically enough, a different person talking to each the offending dog owners, went around picking up dog poop that wasn't their own dogs. Really weird extremes by patrons, ranging from "I don't care" to "I'll clean up after everyone." It'd be better if everyone just payed attention and did their part, or was at least receptive to others letting them know about it. Also, there's a clique-y vibe at certain times, so take that for what it's worth. read more

There are two separate dog parks under the Wildcatter's name, a big dog section and a small dog section. This review is strictly for the small dog park as I have a little guy under 20 lbs. Apparently this is the best dog park in the area but I really have no frame of reference since it's the only one I have been to. However, I have met people at the park who live in La Habra, Diamond Bar, West Covina and other cities so I'm sure it's pretty accurate. The park is spacious and is constructed well with an enclosed gate, astroturf, waste cans (including 2 for pet waste), park benches, a picnic table and water fountain. The majority of the people that frequent the dog park are great but there are a few who solely come to the park to create drama and engage in gossip so I would advise you to exercise caution when making friends or building connections. I try to keep in mind that I am here for my pup and the social aspect is secondary. I am also pretty picky about who I decide to talk to, I can spot a toxic person from a mile away. THE CONS: Horrible flies in the summer. The city does not supply poop bags for the park. Owners ignoring their dog especially their poop. owners ignoring their dog's terrible behavior and blaming other dogs for their own dog's behavior. Owners going as far as spreading lies on the Friends of Wildcatter's Facebook Page which is immature. Owners who treat their dogs horribly. Insufferable owners pointing out the park rules every time they see something they don't like (not everything needs to be said or said rudely). Rude owners busting into conversations because they are offended by the topic of conversation (if you don't like the conversation, walk to the other side of the park, my 1st amendment rights Trump your feelings!) THE PROS: it's a pretty clean park when responsible owners pick up their dog's poop. It allows dogs to get much needed exercise and socialization. I have the freedom to go to the other end of the park when terrible owners are acting out. You do meet some exceptional people who are kind and love dogs and I feel lucky to have met them. I say, ignore the various cons and check it out for yourself! read more

Very well-maintained dog park. Parking is across the street. Don't make the mistake I made and walk ALL around the park looking for the dog park after I parked my car. You have to cross the street. It's one park for all dog sizes. SO MAKE SURE YOUR DOG IS OKAY WITH ALL TYPES OF DOGS. I can see if it gets crowded, it gets chaotic. The landscaping is very nice though. Very green, clean, and the layout of the park is nice. Water fountains didn't seem to be working very well when I went, so owners were filling up bowls there and pails for the pups. My favorite dog park ever!! There is a separate play area for big and small dogs. I've never had any problems coming to this park, both with other dogs and owners. Everyone is very respectful and dogs are friendly. We go to the small dog park and there are lots of tennis balls and other chew toys for dogs to play with. There is also a water station to quench your dogs thirst after all the playing. The turf is very clean and our dog doesn't get as dirty compared to other dog parks. There is plenty of parking across the street and have never seen the lot full. Definitely would recommend to any dog owners!! Great for socialization. read more

This is prob my fav dog park. I prefer the turf (fake grass) vs real grass (and MUD!!!) because it's way easier to clean up and wipe my dog. Both times we came here the dogs and owners are very friendly and they watch their dogs closely. There are some poop here and there but I try to make sure my dog doesn't sniff/eat/step on the poop. Overall the park is pretty clean. My dog had the time of her life running around and meeting new doggos and hoomans. Parking is street parking and the park entrance is kinda hidden so I got kinda lost the first time coming here. I like that this dog park is very clean, looks new, and separates large dogs (greater than 25 lbs) from small dogs. Parking is easy and just across the street in a lot next to a large field. The crosswalk leads directly to the large dog park, which is on top of a hill and accessible by stairs or a ramp. My dog is a small Jack Russell/Shih tzu mix, and we had difficulty finding the small dog park. Most dog parks I've been to have the large dog area connected to the small dog area in some way - usually they share a fence and may have a gate connecting the two. This is not the case with Wildcatters Dog Park. The small dog area was completely separate and hidden from view by trees. After crossing the street from the parking lot, you want to turn right, walk along the sidewalk maybe 100 feet and you'll find some stairs leading down into the small dog park. We circled the whole large dog park trying to find it, and only spotted it when we saw some people leaving. I think this could easily be solved by putting up a sign or two pointing toward it. Besides that issue, we really liked the amount of space, the access to water bowls, and plenty of seating for pawrents. Be sure to bring your own poop bags because they provided none (at least not when we were there). Other reviews mentioned there are poop scoops, but I didn't see any in the small dog park. read more

I moved to brea about a month ago, and this park is a very close - my dog and I throughly enjoy this park. Definitely one of my favorite. BUT this review is to alert other owners of a certain dog and it's owner. The dog just so happens to be a white pit bull with a few dark spots on his coat, name is bambam, and is usually accompanied (hardly supervised) by his male owner. Long story short, my dog is extremely friendly and he did not like the other dog at all. The dog kept playing aggressively with my dog. At one point he kept mounting my dog, growling at him and then what seemed was the other dog attempting to nip my dog. The other dog was no longer playing, but being aggressive with mine. I go to retrieve my dog and reach for his harness, attempting to pull my 40lb dog away from the other, weighing 60lb+. The other dog ends up biting my hand on the progress. While his owner was casually, taking him time to walk over me. Eventually he got his dog and left immediately, without an apology. I saw him 2 days later, and confronted him about it after his dog went after mine yet again. When I told him his dog bit my hand, and showed him the marks he replied kindly with "was your hand near his mouth". No apologies, no sign of remorse, and completely rude. When the man with his dog left, the other people at the park agreed that the other dog was behaving aggressive, and even suggested that I should've called someone such as animal control (to get the dog banned from going to the park for 10 days). read more

We absolutely LOOOVE this park. Yes, SOME owners don't pick up the dog poop but when we go we try to walk around picking up poop. Get some extra steps in and help out the park. We come on the weekdays when everyone else is at work so it's never been crowded for us. Our dog Nova loves to sprint at full speed after her ball so this is the perfect place for that. read more

Most folks clean up after their dogs. However, I've grown tired of the social commentary and political discussion that I as a proud AA liberal am not interested in hearing. This place isn't bad. Ample parking on the street and a private lot just across the ways. Large dog side is pretty big after the renovations. Overall clean, could use some upkeep. Other dog owners were responsible with cleaning. Could not find where the small dog side was though. I like the large football field too! Great place to run around as well. read more

This dog park is so nice. It's in a quiet part of town there is tons of street parking and parking at the lot across the street. There isn't too much dirt and it's clean and pleasant. We enjoy our visits :) it's very big too! And there isn't someone kicking us out right when they close like at the hacienda heights one. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some doggy play time for our dog and he had a great time! We accidentally went to the big dog side and was so surprised to see how large the park was. A kind lady told us the small dog park side was on the right so we took our dog over. We were surprised to see how clean the park was and of course how busy it was! Which was great because our boy loves to play with other dogs. He always starts off a little shy but as soon as he found a friend he was running his circles. People were very friendly and chatty. Very attentive to keep an eye on their dogs. We also loved that there was turf, so in case of the rare rainy weather, there won't be crazy mud. I don't know about under the trees where the benches were put, but when we were there the dirt was dry. We will be sure to come back to play when we make the trip out :) read more

Dog parks are always a little funny to me. It always seems like a social club where people get together and talk about their dogs. "How long have you had him?" , "What breed is he?" Of course people are just being nice. I'm always nice too, and I find myself asking the same questions as them. There's just a lot of small talk involved when you go to a dog park. Maybe dog parks should serve beer. Anyway, catch this dog park after 4 pm or on weekends for maximum dog participation and endless amount of friendly talk about dogs. If your dog is less than 25 lbs, go to the small dogs park on the right. It's a nice area with benches and a drinking fountain, but it is all dirt. I would call ahead to see if it's open the day after a rainy day. It can look like a mud run. Who am I kidding. It stopped raining here in Southern California years ago. By the way, there is a large dogs park too, but I don't go to that one. My small dog would be offended. read more

BEWARE OF THIS WOMAN!! Don't get me wrong, I love this park. But I'm posting to warn others of the lady in the picture. She has a large white and black dog that she can not control. They attacked my dog who did not instigate or pay any attention to them whatsoever. Her white dog bit him on the ear and had him by the neck while the other dog bit my dog's leg. We talked after and I was trying to be calm and nice but she kept coming back with her dogs (which I've respectfully asked her to keep away) and tried to justify that it's normal for dogs to fight. I disagreed and didn't like her irrelevant comment that my dog is a bully breed and aggressive. Her dog 100% attacked mine on their own accord and she acknowledged it was their fault. She then went on to make racial slurs to others and myself. She said she's a racist and proud of it. She threatened me while not controlling her dogs. She's lucky I didn't call animal control because the cut in the picture is from one of her dogs as well. If you see her, beware! read more

My partner and I have been going to Wildcatters Dog Park (small dog side) since July 2020. Due to COVID-19, we were having a hard time regularly socializing our puppy and were recommended to check out the newly renovated dog park in Brea. When we first started going, our puppy was super shy and stayed close to us but warmed up and starting playing with other dogs after going every day for a full week. It was so exciting to watch her social development and also helped us humans build community as new residents of OC. Pros: The park itself is beautifully designed and has a good community of people and dogs alike. We went every day in the evenings around 6pm due to work and heat during the summer (we're on pause right now because our puppy is getting spayed this week). People are welcoming and respectful of cleaning up after their pets. Some folks bring extra balls for the dogs to play with and the park has a water fountain but many people bring their own water and bowls. Cons: The park closes at sunset and doesn't have evening lights, which makes it hard to utilize if you work a 9-5. Additionally, mask wearing is not highly prioritized by everyone there. Also, bring bug spray! Sometimes there are mosquitos and they can get annoying. Hopefully they can install some lights so we can enjoy the park more! read more

My pup and I, truly enjoy and love this dog park. We stay on the large dog park area mostly. We have been to the Small dog park area as well and it is just as nice looking and actually has more shaded areas and benches. Parking is convenient, the crosswalk sign is garbage! Drivers usually go 50 mph plus on Santa Fe. And ignore the crosswalk signal. Be safe and wait till no cars are present to cross the street. The Brea PD is aware but have yet to make any changes to the speed limit! The city of Brea does not provide poo bags... be prepared and bring your own. They also do not provide water bowls. It's ok I donate water bowls every month since the park reopened after the pandemic! The weekdays are the safest for new pups at the dog park... if you go on the weekend it will most likely be packed early morning and late evening, with dogs full of energy and aggression for not being out all week, respectfully since their owners had work or school and cannot bring them during the week. Overall this is a great dog park, mostly friendly people and well behaved dogs. Clean bathroom across the street, and close to downtown Brea and other restaurants that are dog friendly. read more

Thanks fellow Yelpers for getting me to this dog park! The low reviews had me a little spooked about bring my mini Schnauzer " Hazel" to this park. I'm so glad we took time to check it out. I believe the low reviews were before the park had went thru a make over. Plenty of parking and a wonderful array of beautiful flowers welcome you. This park is ADA compliant and accessible. It is nice that there are two completely separate areas for large and small dogs. We went into the small dog area where the rules are posted at the gate, your pretty standard double gate set up and we were pleased to see smiling dog owners greeting us as we came in and all the dogs were getting to know each other. This park has a lot of artificial turf, some sandy gravel areas , shade trees and a great sitting area where the local owners were interested in where we were from. Very friendly people and very friendly dogs made for a great time at this park. There are no poop bags here, there is a scooper and broom . We carry bags so it was no big deal. It did get pretty warm in the mid afternoon, I will come earlier next time. We felt very welcome here. When we left we walked over and checked out the bog dog park and it was equally as nice and also ADA compliant. We did not see any restrooms but did not need them or ask, so I'm not sure there. Met a friend here for a dog date. Would totally come back! LOCATION: Nestled in a nice residential area. The yelp address stops you just shy of where you need to be (at least for me it did). Continue going straight ahead and you'll see it on your right side. It's across the far end of the football field on the opposite side of the street. Park along the street-there is no lot. LAYOUT: There are two fenced in areas. The one on your right will be for smaller dogs and the left is for bigger dogs. Both are quite big area wise. Big plus for the smaller dog area-usually they get a tiny space. No grass in either area, but who has grass in California nowadays haha! ATMOSPHERE: I spent time at both areas. Overall well kept and the owners who brought their dogs are all really nice. Everyone is a dog lover and is considerate of others. I really appreciate that whenever I visit different dog parks. We've been going here since about Fall of 2020. Our dog was born in July 2019, so by the time we were redy to socialize her, we were more or less home bound. We started coming here when it re-opened and it has helped. I have been warned about rattlesnakes along the border fencing, but have nbever ecncountered any myself. I just keep my eyes peeled and walk the fenceline every now and then. There is one regular who comes as a family of 6 or 7. They always hold both gates open to let their elderly mother enter all the way instead of entering in groups with one gate closed at a time. The daughter is extremely rude when asked to close one of the gates and just tells everyone to mind their own business (as if our dogs escaping isn't our business?). It seems like more and more people are standig up to them when they come, but just a head's up. I've seen them twice, and it is just past lunchtime on Sundays. read more

This is the closest dog park to where I live so I've brought my pooch here a few times now. Here's what I can tell you: The grass needs a little TLC. And it gets a little muddy in the center. There have been at least five other dogs there each time I've taken my Chihuahua. I can only really speak of the little dog side - but there are definitely two separate parks. The people we're friendly here and seemed like common visitors of this dog park that were familiar with the people that came and went. Was friendly and spoke to us easily and met their dogs and got along really well. Even a kind lady told us to bring a spray bottle with us Incase dogs get too wild and need to spray them to calm them down. It's good advice. Love how clean it is also without spotting any poop on the floor. Clean and comfortable with a water fountain available for dogs. I would have loved to give this place more than a one star review because the first time we went it was amazing! The people were friendly and the dogs were friendly. However, my last visit this weekend on July 30, 2022 was not so cool. There were a lot of dogs. My dog is a 15 month old black lab and very sociable. Most of the dogs were friendly albeit trying to mount him at some times and the owners only said something to their dog when I started to approach their dog. In any case a gentleman came in with his pit bull and again, I usually don't have a problem with the breed as I have owned pit bulls before, but I really should have known better. At one point a lady threw a ball and her retriever went after it and my dog chased after the retriever. Well of course the pit bull came from the other side running and then bit my dog. I checked my dog and didn't see anything even though the yelped and was whining. Most of the people said it was because he was startled, which my dog barely makes a noise, bark or whine unless it's something, but again I didn't see anything at the time. The owner of the pit never came up to me, but I went up to him and he told me his dog is into "nipping" lately. Well...my dog now has to have surgery and I have no way to tell this dog owner that he has to do better. His dog needs to be trained, he needs to be in control of his dog and he need to start the socialization with a muzzle on his dog. Lesson learned. My dog will never be going back there again. read more

If I could I'd leave 0 stars. We have lived in the area for two years now. And it is not our first time at a dog park as we go weekly but this was our first time at this one. Within less than 30 minutes my dog was attacked (only 8 months old.. she's a service dog so she's very kind and loves to play) The dog was growling even before he came through the gates. The owner just continued to say "you're ok you're ok" and just walked away. Not even a minute out the gates he rushed my pup trampled her and began attacking her. She pulled her dog away very harshly, and yet the dog began fighting another dog immediately. The people there are the absolute worst. Do not care for their dogs, they just watched my dog get attacked and started pointing at us. Will never come back here again. read more
