Scallops with pork belly added richness
    Lloyd M.

I was ready to give them four stars but the food definitely earned all five stars. I had not remembered but I actually had dined a year ago on a previous trip to Dublin. The fact I didn't remember it until I sat down did not give me a lot of confidence. It was also a very formal, hotel like setting, and I pictured potential disappointment. Luckily the food won me over. Started with nice bread service, a very interesting bread with incredibly soft butter. My first course was the scallops and pork belly; which was a great combination. The scallops were seared perfectly and the pork belly added richness and heft to the dish; very enjoyable. For a main, the sole menuire was perfect. The waiter did an excellent job filleting the fish, I am not someone who can deal with bones. The fish was tender and the sauce exactly what I expected. I also loved the cauliflower I got on the side, though it is a much stronger/Asian flavor and I ended up eating it after the fish as the fish was too delicate to eat together. I would still order both again, they were wonderful in their own right. Well done, Wilde, you earned five stars.

    Taste of Italy wine flight.
    Kristi G.

Great food, beautiful ambience and great wine selections. Service was mediocre considering the prices. A plus, they were knowledgeable about food allergies and able to accommodate. Our table got the taste of Italy wine flight and it was great! Everyone enjoyed their dinner; however, the hamburger was a bit overdone.

The best ambience you'll get. I frequent visit westbury and all its different sitting areas/restaurants for good quality food and a great vibe. The food at Wilde was really top notch. We started with the salad. For mains I had the truffle risotto and paired it with Champagne. For dessert I had Baked Alaska. I love this dessert so was happy to see it on the menu and it did not disappoint. My husband had the gluten free rigatoni pasta and loved it. The service was great as always.

The Wilde inside the Westbury is exactly what vacation dinner dreams are made of. I fell in love with every single inch of this restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. I even swooned over the complimentary bread service, it was that good! Definitely a couple $$ dollar sign $$ dinner price...but, when on vacay, treat yourself.

    Tuna tartare starter
    Michael K.

For the first night of our visit, we just dined in our hotel at the Wilde. A pleasant space on the first floor had plenty of room for us at 7pm on a Thursday night. We quickly discovered the sassy nature of our server but enjoyed it and played off of it. My wife and I both ordered the hangar steak and chips. My wife started with a tuna tartare which was the highlight of the meal for her. I started with a hot and chunky bowl of chicken soup. Our steaks were larger than I normally expect for a hanger steak but were a little tough. My wife's steak was cooked a little too rare for her liking but otherwise fine. For dessert the chocolate tart was lively and rich. A nice meal conveniently located on our first night.

    Our yummy dessert!

Food was decent. Beautiful, upscale restaurant. Service was very slow, so I wouldn't come here if you're in a hurry!

Menu has a good selection of Irish dishes from seafood chowder up to lamb stew and pies. We ordered the potato soup, seafood chowder, 'banjo' burger with onion rings. The soups arrived first and the seafood chowder was loaded with huge pieces of fish, potatoes (not many) with a creamy rich base. Flavor was incredible and in itself a full meal. Served in a large crock style bowl. The potato soup was minus any whole potatoes. It was a rich creamy base with plenty of flavor and very hearty. The burger was really a double cheeseburger with plenty of cheese, grilled onions, what appeared to be a mayonnaise based sauce on a soft hamburger roll. Really tall enough that it was tough getting your mouth around it. Very well seasoned burgers and the onions were a nice touch. The onion rings were huge and had a very light batter on them. They served in a metal bowl to keep them hot. For dessert the apple crumble was ordered which was served in a large dish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This could have been warmer but still was good.. The 5 star rating is for the chowder as it outshone the rest of the meal although the burger was definitely a close second. Definitely will return to try other dishes when we come back to the city.

The meat and veggies were plentiful, the portion generous, and it was tasty enough but maybe on the bland side? It was served with a side of braised red cabbage which we really liked: sweet but not sour like pickled cabbage. And house-made brown stout bread, also very good. The wife had a Guinness and I, thinking it too cliché to order Guinness as a tourist in Ireland, tried a different stout whose name I've forgotten from the ample selection. But comparing the two, so much better! The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Irish dishes, more than most of the similar pubs in the area. As well as the other expected pub type food: sandwiches, burgers, etc. As for desserts, if we were hungrier, the wife might have ordered the Irish Whiskey Bread & Butter Pudding. The hubby would probably get his dessert later, as the selection was limited and neither that nor the Apple Crumble appealed. Sitting at the bar we had a more personalized experience than were we at a table. The bartender offered to take a photo of me behind the bar which I of course accepted. We made the right choice in coming here.

Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

The mash was too thick and chunky, the bangers were bit overcooked. The mussels was disappointing, seafood chowder was ok. The restaurant is located on the second floor. We made a reservation, but was asked to wait while they cleaned up the table. Unfortunately, the table they wanted to seat us, the folks decided to have a long after dinner conversation, thus we ended up waiting longer than expected. Then they seated us at a larger table after waiting 15 minutes or so. The service was decent... wasn't fan of tipping request, EU needs to stop adopting USA's stupid system :)

My husband and I stopped by for dinner and I ordered a caesar salad and their fish chowder. The caesar was great but my gosh the fish chowder and accompanying brown bread rocked my socks. They do live music on occasion as well and so we were able to enjoy that while sipping our Guinness. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.
