3 years ago, Wilder Tree Company trimmed our large live oaks, so I called them a second time for another trim. Not only did they do a great job (again!), but they sent Neal to give us an estimate.. and Neal knows his trees. I learned a lot just from walking around the property with him. You can tell he *genuinely* cares about trees, and that is an individual (or indirectly, a company) that I will never regret spending money with. The passion, sense of urgency, and expertise were impressive. The crew showed up after we approved the estimate and they also did a terrific job. Had a dying and potentially dangerous Hackberry beside our house, which had already caused some minor roof damage. I contacted at least six different vendors for bids. Wilder set a firm appointment time, which they kept. Their proposal included some additional work which they included at no additional charge. When I had a question regarding the scope of work, the person who answered the phone expedited things and was a pleasure to work with. I regret that I didn't write down her name, but she was both professional and pleasant to work with. (And, all of this is happening around 5:00 on a Friday night!) Their process involved only a 10% deposit, and their on-line form made the process very easy. (One firm, whose bid was substantially more wanted 50% down.) Wilder's bid was next to the lowest, but their attention to detail and professionalism made the decision easy. Once awarded the contract I was scheduled for the following Monday! I want to give a shout out to the foreman Josh, and to his crew for doing a great job of not only removing the dead tree, but doing a careful job of trimming the other threes and shrubs, including removing some small volunteer Hackberry trees from a couple of locations. During the violent thunderstorm Friday evening, August 1, a large ash tree split and came down in my backyard, breaking the fence and resting on the roof. I mad several calls Saturday morning and got no answers until I reached a real, helpful person at Wilder. Not only did they answer the phone, but they had an estimator out before 1 p.m. and a crew with chainsaws and a chipper on site by 4 p.m. In two days, the tree, both the massive fallen portion and the dangerous piece still standing, were removed. Eddie was my on-the-ground guy today overseeing the job and made sure I was satisfied with their work. This was my first time using this company and I will probably will use them again. They trimmed trees in the front and back yard and removed branches from my neighbors trees that were touching my roof. They were fast and efficient and cleaned up my yard when they were finished. I wish I had before and after pictures of our property to share here, but trust me when I say what a beautiful difference Eric and his crew made in our yard. The crew was professional in their trimming and very thorough in their cleanup. Eric himself is so incredibly knowledgeable regarding tree growth patterns and how the overall tree structure affects its future strength. He developed a strategic plan to selectively prune several of our two-trunked trees over the course of the next five years to maintain and improve their integrity and prevent property destruction by falling branches. He was also able to identify hypoxylon cankers on two of our red oaks and, in addition to removing the affected limbs, recommended a microbial tea that he makes in-house to improve the trees' health and immunity against hypoxylon, oak wilt, and other stressors. In case you don't know this already, soil health and diversity is the key to happy plants, so I really appreciate an arborist who recognizes soil quality's impact on trees, too! I truly hate leaving unkind reviews but I was approached by the Wilder Tree Company as they were working on my neighbors tree and they wanted to clean up ours too. They were paid for tree trimming and stump grinding. They completed the tree trimming as expected and let me know they would be back around the following week with the stump grinder. It has been several months with phone conversations, text messages, and every attempt made to get their team back in for the stump, but we have been met with radio silence and an unfinished job. I'm so disappointed by the unprofessional behavior, especially since they have been paid for work that is incomplete. Be warned if you employee this company for a two step job. read more

I've used Wilder Tree service twice now and intend to use them for now on. (I have also used other arborists in Austin who were fine, but I am particularly impressed with Wilder.) The certified arborist at Wilder Tree came and assessed my trees that needed trimming. Then the professional crew came and trimmed the trees as he had indicated. They lowered larger limbs very carefully to the ground, and cleaned the grounds and my driveway well before leaving. In the spring, I also had the organic fertilizing service, which feeds the soil and trees. This is an excellent way to replenish the soil life and strengthen the trees. I will use this service again, as well. The price for these services is fair, reasonable, and competitive. read more

These folks stopped by after noticing some low branches from our oak tree out front. We had them give a quote for grinding a stump that was creating drainage problems by our house; removing 2 dead/dying trees; removing landscaping bushes gone wrong; and more. The quote seemed reasonable and their reviews were great so we went for it. They spent all afternoon out there getting it done and cleaned up so well after! A wire got destroyed in the stump grinding process due to its location and they came back and fixed that, no problem at all. They're super communicative, professional, nice, and just plain good at what they do. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back again! read more
