The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. They guided us through the daunting task of designing our menu and beverage program, as well as assisted in our furniture and linen rentals. We always felt like we were in good hands. We ended up going with BBQ, Asian, and fall seasonal stations, in addition to an assortment of fun appetizers, plus gourmet donuts for dessert. Kristin from Capers COMPLETELY made everything so easy. She was so responsive and answered any and all random questions. She helped us with a timeline and diagrammed how the room would be set up and she was on top of EVERYTHING. It was great to have someone I could completely trust so I could worry about other things. Then, Catherine took over for the dinner itself and she was amazing too! At the end of the night, Catherine even gave up a bag of leftovers, which was amazingly sweet. The day could not have gone better and it was really thanks to Capers that everything went so well. The subs were outstanding. The best part was talking to the two people that work there I assume husband wife??? So kind and down to earth it turns out they lived in the same city as my mother growing up. Apparently, they're known for their Tripe. My 89 year old mother loves it. I'll be there next Thursday when they have the Tripe and can't wait to talk to my new friends again.
