Oh my goodness what an experience this was today. First I walk in to pick up three subs I ordered. I've never heard of this place and never been there. You had me at hello Marcos. The subs were outstanding. The best part was talking to the two people that work there I assume husband wife??? So kind and down to earth it turns out they lived in the same city as my mother growing up. Apparently, they're known for their Tripe. My 89 year old mother loves it. I'll be there next Thursday when they have the Tripe and can't wait to talk to my new friends again. read more

Terrific stop for lunch! Main Street in Woburn Sandwiches are awesome. I have had both Roast Beef and Turkey sandwiches, as well as a slice or two of pizza. Service is top-notch. Great place to sit and eat after placing your order. They will bring your sandwich to your table. Coke products along with Dasani water are available to drink. Prices are reasonable. Catering is available, but I have never ordered. I imagine if it is anything like the lunch sandwich, it would be a great choice! read more

Great local Italian shop with wide selection. I came a few days before a holiday and I was still able to get a couple trays of Eggplant and lasagna when no one else could accommodate. I am so glad they couldn't because the food was so great. The service was quick enough considering that it was right before holiday and a "small" shop. Thanks to yelp I found this amazing deli! I ordered the Marcos special and a meatball grinder to go for the kids. The Marcos special was fantastic. The picture doesn't do it any justice! The eggplant is terrific! I would highly recommend ordering it I wouldn't change a thing! You can even buy a large pan of it frozen. Also, the people that work there are so friendly and personable it makes you feel right at home. They even sell a great mix of other frozen items(soup & ravioli) and some key Italian goodies. I stopped in today to check this place out and it resembles a little Italian Bar, a place to grab a snack, coffee or espresso, and to browse the shelves of imported Italian pantry staples which include olive oil, quality vinegars, bread sticks, pastas, coffee, and so forth. The lunch/ sandwich menu looked great and very reasonable prices. Today I just came in to browse, had a quick espresso, and purchased some fagoli pasta. Popped in yesterday in need of a quick lunch. Checked in based on awesome yelp reviews, as I may not have noticed this little place before. Glad I found it! I got Marco's Special: sopressata, prosciutto, mortadella and provolone...but I swapped out the provolone for fresh mozzarella. Do this! I also added balsamic which really made it awesome. They've got small, medium, and large subs -- I got the small and half of it was perfect for lunch though I was really tempted to eat the whole thing. Great bread, great meats. Yelpers! You've led me astray. My brother and I were going to get lunch but 30 mins before our planned time, he asked if I could just pick him up something quick because work was hectic. I yelped food places jn the area and this place seemed like a no brainer: 4.5 stars, great Italian subs, pasta and meatballs. The shop itself is cute, very old school Italian with a few tables. There were a few older gentlemen sipping on coffees but most people got take-out. I did the same and ordered a large Italian sub and spaghetti and meatball entree. My brother and I split the Italian and he ate the spaghetti and meatballs. The Italian sandwich had the basics: meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, diced onions, oil, and balsamic. I really liked the bread, soft and chewy but overall taste was ok, nothing special. My brother agreed and said the same about his spaghetti and meatball. He was impressed that it came with garlic bread but disappointed there was only one small meatball. Service was quick and prices were very reasonable but I probably won't be back. read more

Ordered a large meatball sub with extra sauce and toasted. $10 and change. It took 10 minutes to be ready - which seemed reasonable for them to make the sub and toast it. I work less than 10 mins away (sub-shop to truck to desk chair and first bite). Results: Sub was cold, meatballs even colder :( Cheese kinda melted, means they did not toasted less than 2mins Sub was dry, means they ignored my request for extra sauce Flavor was not-bad when I got 1 or 2 bites with actual sauce Overall - won't be back - plenty of other options in the area read more

I originally came upon Marco's by chance..I worked down the street and my boss seemed to be in love with the "soup of the day" and pelligrino (and by in love i mean, i literally walked down every day to get it) Now I'm probably one of the most picky individuals on the planet when it comes to food & therefore pretty much always HATE going anywhere new, but when you're already there getting lunch for everyone else you eventually think "what the hell" I ordered an "Italian Sub" but with "Salami as the only meat" (told you I was picky!) Without a doubt, the closest thing to my grand mom's sauce and meatballs I have ever had. I know this place is known for being more of a deli, but oh man, talk about amazing pasta dishes; even know there isn't a wide range. Marco's gives me a reason to visit my parents in my hometown. It is THE reason for me to visit Woburn Center. Their chicken cutlets are top notch. I have been eating lunch from Marcos for the last few days while doing some work out in Woburn and so far everything I have had is fantastic. When I first walked into the store that smell of fresh Italain food almost knocked me over I was in heaven it reminded me of the store in the North End back when I was a kid. I recommend the Marcos Special sub (Sopressata, Prossiuto, Mortadella and Provolone) if that is too much for you the Regular Italian is great as well. Being Italian I am very fussy about Italian food and Marcos is top notch. The cold cuts are great, all imported stuff that tastes amazing. I can't find anything bad to say except it's not closer to me house! So far I have had the Italian, Marcos Special, Meatball, Sausage subs, Pasta and the Beef Bracciole. After having four bad meals in a row I was desperately looking for some good food. It was lunch time and I didn't want anything heavy. You would think a sandwich would be hard to mess up but quality of products has a lot to do with it. This place was VERY GOOD. I got the turkey sandwich and my husband got a ham and cheese. Even the "Roll" was HUGE. Two rolls, two teas, two bags of chips and some hot peppers and it was only 17.00 What a bargain considering lunch the day before was 25.00 and not even edible from another place. I had a 2 day work meeting in Woburn and found Marco's on Yelp. Tullio, the owner, worked with me on the budget and the amount of food to make sure we had enough and offered quite a bit at a very reasonable price. Day 1 was a cold cut platter with condiments, veggies and 2 types of bread. I asked for soda and cookies which were also provided. He offers plates/flatware/napkins which I let him know we didn't need. Everyone in the meeting was commenting on "the spread" and how impressive it looked. It was laid out very nicely; everything was packed in a neat and appetizing way. Day 2 was the showstopper: chicken parm, sausage and peppers and pasta salad. The chicken parm is one of the best I've had at a take out place besides mom's. Red sauce is hard thing to get right, but this was gooooooood! Nearly everyone went for seconds and finished off the chicken parm. The cookie platter this time included some traditional Italian cookie favorites mixed in with choc. chip/oatmeal/chocolate cookies. The sodas were different too which was a nice change up. Marco's was a great find in a town where we needed to feed a group of people for 2 days. Definitely beats the chain places for boxed lunches. I made sure to leave Tullio's menus and cards with the office to make sure he gets call the next time we have a meeting here. read more

I have had the Veal Parm Sub, very tender, tasty sauce and good amount of melted mozzarella.
