Weston. Food was AMAZING. We had pulled pork sliders, 1/2 order of homemade potato salad,1/2 order of cucumber salad and a brownie. The service was pnenonminal, lady was very friendly and helpful. I had had trouble with the fb page and trying to order for a couple days. They finally helped me with giving out their own # to order from. You have to give a time when you r coming so it can be ready w no waiting. We picked noon they open at 1130. You walk under a tent pay, then they bring it to your vehicle to keep safe distancing. They have clambake and other fish items on saturdays. Sundays is barbecue. They also have a resturant for breakfast and lunch on Main st in Waltham center. During rest of week. The pulled pork sliders were very big , juicy and lots of meat. The salads were both homemade like from your own kitchen. Potato salad had just the right amount of mayo and seasonings. I really loved the cucumber salad. Its surprise ingredient was oranges. Wow such a shock. It didn't over power the rest of salad. It was light and very refreshing. It had lots of colorful ingredients. Like a rainbow of colors and flavors. I was a little disappointed in the brownie too dry for me. But everything else was a 10 plus and looking forward to going again and trying a different sandwich but will def get bigger salads for sure. read more

Everyone has that one memorable meal that every time you think about it, or talk about it, you can taste it. Often, it's a meal you know you will never have again, and, although you have had other meals just like it, it will never be the same as that ONE meal. When you talk about it, you make your audience want it too (rightfully). Well, it seems I am veering away from singling out one meal as being the sole trophy holder of my taste buds, and, leaning towards working on building a small list (if you will), because, Cricket Café has introduced me to the most delicious turkey sandwich I ever had in my life. I know, I know, it's a TURKEY sandwich, you got sandwich meat, bread, mayo, BOOM, lunch is served. Believe me you, I wrapped my head around this too, I even tried recreating it (came close) but, you just can't replicate perfection. Little did I know that when my company ordered lunch for a meeting that one sunny day in June, my lunch game would be changed forever. In fact, ALL of the sandwiches we had were such a hit in that small meeting of 8 that, a few weeks later, we ordered around 100+ lunchboxes (sandwich, chips, cookie) for our annual Hackathon attendees. Then, the unthinkable happened, I found them on GRUBHUB. Folks, looking for your favorite food spots on GrubHub is no different than food shopping when hungry or browsing Amazon when you can't sleep, it's good in theory BUT, in the end, you will have post-indulgence regret (which, we all know isn't really regret). Beautiful regret, on a full, satisfied tummy. I am not saying we have, I am not saying we haven't placed at least one order per week at Cricket Café since .. or a breakfast order (today). I placed an online order to pick up after the Waltham cafe was closed. When I got there two polite employees were waiting with my order. When I got it back to the office, I realized it was not what I thought I had purchased. I called and got the owner. He was very nice and immediately apologized. It was a misunderstanding on both our parts--what I thought I was getting and that the website didn't offer a lot of details. The owner immediately credited me back with part of the order. I was looking for a caterer for a milestone birthday party and spoke to Drew. As soon as I mentioned that I had to be budget conscious, he said that I should be most concerned with the experience of the guests. He was supposed to follow up with some ideas and NEVER DID! I guess understanding that some people have limited budgets did not appeal to him. He does, after all, do mostly big corporate events and may just not want to entertain a less profitable, low key event for 50 or so... Great place to stop by for breakfast! I love getting their breakfast burrito and they make it just the way you want. They have a small selection of coffee but I really enjoy them. Well brewed! On top of the food selection, the service there is extremely friendly. I've called ahead before to place an order so I can just walk in and pick it up. That's just for one item too so I think that just shows how friendly they really are. If you work around the area, you should definitely put this in your route! read more

I live in Seaport but work in Waltham and found this hidden gem a few years back. This review is well overdue, but Cricket Cafe just recently remodeled the entire cafe and I figured now is the time to share my experience. Let me start by saying that I find that the variety/quality of the food offered is easily the best in the area. Their staple items alone are enough to get me to return on a daily basis, but they offer even better specials everyday. I am 4 days into the calendar week and I have already had Filipino Chicken Adobo, Roast Beef Tenderloin, Curried Chicken and a Meatball Sub. I actually don't like wheat bread, so they tailored my Meatball Sub order into a wheat wrap and it was phenomenal. I know I mentioned a lot of meat dishes here, but note they do have a huge salad bar that changes on a daily basis as well. For ambiance, they have huge floor to ceiling windows that allow a ton of natural light to come in, they constantly have good music playing through modern and up to date ceiling speakers, and they are just about to open up their large patio that pours out onto Main Street. They offer packaged beverages, they are open for breakfast every morning, and carry a variety of baked goods as well. Parking is easy, they have an entire, covered garage so you don't have to fight with the crowded and packed roads of Waltham. Trust me, this is easily the best bang for your buck food in the area. The Executive Chef even caters. The owner of my company hired Drew for his holiday party and the food was a huge hit. Don't make the mistake of going to the chain restaurants around your home or office, come get food from an actual Chef with incredible food prepared on-site, daily. Where else can you get fresh, healthy sandwiches/salads or American food (e.g. homemade pizza, chicken quesadillas - one of my favorites, etc.) without walking out of the office to wait on long lines to grab food that is a bit more expensive that is perhaps not as healthy? For those that work in the building, Cricket Cafe (CC) is definitely the best way to go for all these reasons, mentioned above and more. It's definitely a quality yet low maintenance place you can go to on a daily basis without getting sick of it, as they have daily specials. My favorites are their grilled (sushi - high quality) salmon with a side of Chipotle sauce and clam belly fritters. Specials are about $8.99, which usually includes a side, and their fish is MUCHHHH better than some Yelp 4 star, $$ (and above) restaurants! I was shocked, driving all the way to CT one day to try seafood (after having had a clam belly fritters at the CC)... CC was much better/fresher! My sister in law had a baby and saying at the Newton Wellesley Hospital... I called to check if they had fresh made Mac and cheese or those bought frozen ones. Gentlemen answered and I end up doing an order straight with him for delivery. I texted them the Hospital address and room number 30 minutes later the Chef was knocking on our room door! ‍ OMG!!! amazing food, amazing services, food still super hot. The grilled cheese with tomato Bread was crunchy while still warm and gooey cheese!!! Super fresh!!! The veggie quesadilla was amazing!!!! The choice is veggies including but not limited to asparagus, mushrooms, roasted peppers.... I loved it allllllll!!!! One of the best in house kitchens I have ever been to hands down. Between breakfast (breakfast burritos are the best I've ever had) and lunch you can't go wrong here. Not overly expensive ad the chefs here don't just cook good food, they make it just how you like it. Weather you want it cooked differently or you want to substitute ingredients, they will make you happy. Great food at a fair price! I especially like the breakfast options they offer. The cafe itself is very clean and has a great city view with large glass windows.
