This location used to be Communication Family Credit Union many, many years ago. Most of the members worked for Michigan Bell back then. This is now Wildfire Credit Union. I have been a member for over four decades. I have had an account here ever since I was 12-years-old. Our family currently has five generations of members! I have very fond memories of all the member dinners we attended in Frankenmuth with their famous chicken and fresh baked breads. I also recall cashing all of my savings bonds my parents had diligently saved before I went away to college. Gotta love them! Here you blaze your own trail! Our family has had and continue to have multiple mortgages, car loans, personal loans and lines of credit, checking accounts, savings accounts, and even vacation savings accounts. There are so many bonuses available with memberships. This is the main branch and when you enter there is a greeter desk to assist you. They have pod tellers that are very personal and welcoming like Andrea and Kaitlin versus the impersonal encounters with bank tellers that are usually behind a glass window. They have a coin machine in the front lobby to automatically count and tally all those containers you have at home with your saved loose change! They offer skip-a- payment options on loans twice a year - July and December, which is excellent around the holidays. They have a 24/7 mobile app access. They have fee free ATM usage at other credit unions. The list goes on.... Tip of the day: For members coming from I-675 to Tittabawassee Rd (trying saying that 5x fast), there is a shortcut to the branch to avoid the busy traffic and stop lights. Turn right on Curtis Rd, just before Applebee's, then turn left on Liberty Road which is a residential street, and then turn right on Credit Union Road. Yes, they have their own access road! Terrible bank. By far the worst in bay city. Terrible fees and the bank managers are the worst. Stay away from this shit hole.

If I could give a zero star review I would. This credit union is useless. My husband died back in 2021 and dealing with them and his business accounts has been a complete nightmare. I even got a boat loan through them and they couldn't figure out how to do that. I will never do business with these people EVER!!! read more

Simply the best financial institution that I've ever dealt with!! 25 years and I have zero complaints. The help desk is second to NONE. They're so good that I have physically visited a branch once! In 25 years! I live near Lansing and have done EVERYTHING online and over the phone. That's amazing to me. read more

I've been a member since early 70's . I have always had good service, my husband and 2 of my sons are members. They have always been willing to help. Only thing they have done that I wasn't happy with was change their name to Wildfire. Don't like my credit union named for a destructive force but that wasn't enough to send me elsewhere. They are still the best around. read more

We have been with Wildfire for many years, I always refer people to them because of their great service's and options. Many of my family members, and friends have joined from my referrals. Sadly things have changed and they are not as customer focused any more, I am now looking for another financial institutions now. Get it together Wildfire! read more

You go to a credit union because you want to be treated better than at a bank. You won't get that here. Lots of hidden fees (dormancy fees on savings accounts). They'll put on a super polite cheerful tone as they tell you they obsconded with your money thru their fee schedule, and that there's nothing you can do about it. Glad my accounts are now closed. One of the worst financial institutions I've ever dealt with. They're unbelievably rude and condescending. They are put out and bothered by requests to perform even the most basic services. You couldn't pay me to do ever do business with this credit union again. read more

Over the years, I have benefited from the expertise and offerings of various departments within Wildfire. Every interaction, without exception, has been characterized by excellence. In the past year, Sherry Nielsen in the Call Center, Wendy Haas in Accounting and Amy Flood (a rock star!) in New Accounts worked with me on a project that I regard as one of the most positive customer service experiences I will ever have. Megan the Manager in the Call Center is rude, condescending and not helpful. She refused to assist in correcting fraud transactions on my Visa Credit Card. When I asked to speak to her Manager she said "I already did and she is going to tell me the same thing." When I asked to speak to the Branch Manager she said "I'm not sure what help she would be she has nothing to do with this." I said I'm not paying $70 for transactions I did not make, Megan replied "well yes you are." After an entire day of phone calls nothing was resolved. She ended our last call with "well there is nothing more that can be done have a good night" and hung up. Horrible customer service skills. I have been banking with Wildfire for years and this was without a doubt the worst service I've ever received. Megan is a very poor employee. read more

I've been a member here for nearly 30 years and haven't asked for a thing. Recently ran into an issue with having plenty of $ in my accounts, but not in an account that supports checking in case of overdraft. They were quick to stick me with whopping FEES and would only offer to waive a portion of them, even though I caught the problem in a few days AND had the money in their institution to back up the checks. Loyalty means NOTHING to Wildfire Credit Union. Haven't ever thought about leaving them but I'M GOING soon. I remember the good old days when then CFCU paid better interest than most places. No more. And now, they are just as greedy for fees as the BIG BANKS. I certainly don't feel a like a member, just a piece of revenue meat. I guess building branches that look like palaces is more important than common sense or helping people navigate their finances. They set rules knowing people won't be able to keep track of them all, then collect the fees. Anyone have a recommendation on a true, client-focused credit union? Hey, maybe they did me a favor... I should be shopping my banking business once in a while anyway. read more
