According to the Denton Halloween website, "For the entire month of October, wander through the free haunted maze and uncover the secrets of the mad scientist. This interactive experience, built by a local artist, is full of surprises." The maze was located on the lawn between City Hall and the Denton Civic Center. It doesn't have a specific Yelp page, so I'm posting it on here. A signed waiver was required before entering the premises. We visited on a weekday (October 2025) and didn't have to wait long in line. It was a short, fun experience (not that scary) that even kids would enjoy. There were 2 porta potties on site. However, they stank!

I set down the envelope next to my purse while taking a photo with my friends. I didn't see it when I came back. The only people who were near my purse and the gift was the waiters walking around collecting/clearing up drinks. Be very careful with cards and gifts at this location. Lumen Room Denton I recently had a photo shoot for my…read moredaughter's senior/graduation photos. We hired an independent photographer and she set up the studio and she chose The Lumen Room in Denton. We were in the 'White' area. I did not get a chance to see the 'Lifestyle' area but it did look slightly smaller. I personally have extensive experience shooting video but, in this case, I happy to let my wife and daughter control this photo shoot. I was really blown away with the uniqueness of the space. The Lumen Room Denton, is housed in a former 4 bay mechanic shop/gas station. Frankly, super unique in my opinion. Obviously, the space has been completely renovated to be an open space that can accommodate photo shoots or almost anything you might need it for like a meeting or even a birthday party. For this example, the photographer needs light, space and a few backgrounds choices and The Lumen Room provided almost everything a good photo studio needs. First, the amount of space the studio has was fairly expansive for a single person photo shoot like 25x 25. And, the space even provides a few different styles of chairs and sofas to use as props or for client lounging. Second, background choices really facilitate a photographer's job to provide some variety of images. The Lumen Room provides several roll around 8x8 flat wall backdrops. White, black and colored flats can give some flexibility in shooting and I was impressed to see these as a standard included with the space. The photographer used the natural light that was available coming through frosted glass garage doors on one side and high north facing sky lights on the other. I stood by and watched the photographer work. I was impressed with the overall experience because my wife and I were able to sit and watch everything happen in air conditioned comfort. I thought about the possibilities of using this space to shoot interviews or for professional sound recordings but with the proximity to a busy street, I can only recommend The Lumen Room in Denton as photo studio or perhaps a video insert studio. Check it out and you might find that The Lumen Room could work perfectly for corporate or freelance photographers in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area. I work in Denton and I am really glad I was introduced to this space. The photographer told me there are a few in Fort Worth and in Dallas. Happy shooting!

this place writes about how quaint and beautiful it is. it even post info about all they have to…read moreoffer like when it was a bed and breakfast. it is now only a very rundown farm . the place is not kept up. some of the grass was cut, but tall weeds were everywhere. The little pond seen in their ad, actually has a layer of scum on it. I saw a fish laying on top of the scum flopping and soon after died. probably because it couldn't get enough oxygen. the alpacas there were in a very run down pen area. there is a long 6 ft ta wooden wall in the pen area that leaning badly . it is ready to fall and is propped up with steel t post used for farm fences. They have a livestock guardian dog in the pen with the alpa's pen that does not look healthy. the entrance to the place has a dilapidated sign that is ready to fall dow. they give you a code for the entry gate. Probably because they don't want to ever meet any of their guest. They also give a code to the cabin. again so they don't have to meet you , they just want your money. The cabin was not bad, but the AC didn't work well. There were bugs in the grassy area and I was bitten many times. Run, don't walk. away as fast as you can . Their nice looking ad makes it look like a wonder place to stay. Believe me. It is not.

And the only reason I didn't use them was another venue unexpectedly donated their venue to us at no charge... (Good to have connections!) Hard to beat a free venue... Kim was professional, personable, flexible, and extremely helpful in trying to meet my every need. We're a 501(c)3 and every dollar counts in our effort to fund local scholarships, and Kim took that guidance to the bank. She matched what I needed for per-meal price (beyond what any other venue could do), the price for the venue was VERY reasonable, and she was very timely in getting back to me after working out our deal with her manager. I called a lot of venues and talked to a lot of people. I'd looked into almost 30 venues for this event. Most venues are not flexible and didn't seem to care if they can't accommodate you. That's too expensive for you? Aw, sorry, good luck! *click* Others never even called me back. Not the case with Kim and Buffalo Valley. She really went the extra mile to make it work. It was a breath of fresh air working with her. I truly can't say enough good things about my experience. I highly recommend Buffalo Valley for your event.
