To be fair, let me update my post below. The resort fixed ALL these issues the very next day. This despite the fact that their maintenance person was away on a family emergency and thanks to the efforts of someone else who stepped in. Quick and courteous - much appreciated! Toilet broken, microwave broken, and worst of all the stove was leaking gas badly and it took me a while to figure out a way to stop it leaking! No way to contact anyone at resort in late evening - this is seriously dangerous. read more

Sat on the nice wood deck protected from the wind. Ordered barbecue bacon cheeseburger with Romain lettuce rather than a bun. Gluten-free bread option is available for $1.50 more. Spectacular chill lunch by the Pacific ocean. Daily specials available with kind, efficient, service. Rollerville Café this sorta joint that finds you. Come through the North Coast y'all. On Hwy 1, these 'tiny homes' are a great place to stay. Very clean, and well outfitted for a week-long stay. We used RCI points. There is everything you need for cooking, just bring the food you want. There are a couple grocery stores in town. Close by many interesting places (Sea Ranch, Mendocino, Bowling Ball Beach etc. ) A hiking trail is just across the street, take the pasture to walk to the ocean bluffs (no beach access there), beautiful views of the ocean from the trail. Or head over to the Point Arena lighthouse for nearby hiking trails. Loved the gas fireplace. Really keeps the house warm. It was icy cold when we first walked in... it does warm up! $45 charge for internet access for the week. All rooms are no smoking. The tiny home is in a community of ~40 little rentals, all the same, you have your own parking spot. Several BBQs are located in a large central grassy area. The office staff is helpful. They will happily supply additional soap, towels, and directions to fun events. There is a bulletin board full of info and local events. Main Street had a celebration day on the first Saturday of December- it showcased all the local businesses and offered sample and discounts and special foods. Lots to do around here. Only one disappointment- The write-up for this resort said: pool & hot tub. However neither are working, the gate is locked, no access. Staff said: The pool is permanently closed and "maybe someday" the hot tub will be replaced. I was really looking forward to the hot tub on cold starry nights. -RCI also said amenities included pool / hot tub. --was a scam to say they were "available" . read more

This place is very cozy. Check in was easy and everyone was very friendly. We had our own little park model. It's a little worn but very clean and there is a nice porch to enjoy meals, drinks and games outside. A great base for hiking and visiting local sites. read more

The food was also delicious and when combined with the wonderful wine list, you're in for a great experience. Great little resort in Arena Point. Had everything we needed. Even cooked a lobster bisque with all the kitchenware that came with the cabin. The pool was clean and the spa was fine, didn't spend much time laying around, too many great sights to see. Definitely recommend the lighthouse and hit up the seal rocks trail. Better eat dinner early only restaurant nearby open after 6 or 7 is at the casino. Also, Tuesday and Monday so pretty dead, so make sure to pas k some food, you will need it. They provide coffee in the room and will exchange towels once a week (or more if you ask). They have fans in the bedroom, which help is you're a hot sleeper, but never gets too hot in paradise. read more

It feels like some of the folks talking trash about this resort did not take more than a few seconds to look over the description. If you are looking for something close to a lot of activities, bars, etc, etc, then this isn't where you want to go. If you want a VERY clean location, with a very nice resort with a GREAT individual micro-house, then keep reading. If you want a quiet location, sort of close to a small town, where you can relax (or write, which is what we are interested in), then keep reading. If you want easy access to sandy beaches along northern California coast; if you want hikes around the western forests and ocean front; if you want to get away from the Bay Area heat and manic traffic; if you want to TRULY relax and recharge -- if THESE are the things you are looking for, then THIS is a place you want to seriously consider! There is an on-site cafe that has great food, but it has very limited days and hours, so come prepared to cook. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need to cook full meals. You'll want to bring food with you -- and let me say this again: you NEED to BRING food with you! The two local grocery stores in Pointe Arena are somewhat limited and probably more expensive than you'll want to pay -- even by California standards. The grocery store in Manchester is better and cheaper -- and on the way to the beach. It comes with a nice sized TV, and some kind of cable service. But we have never used it, so I cannot comment on it. The bed is quite comfortable, but the rest of the furniture is okay. The full-sized bathroom is good; hot water comes quickly. I like to write on the front porch, and the wrought iron table and chairs on the front porch were more than adequate for me to work on. We love this location, and come to it every year for a writer's retreat. The you-pay internet access is more than adequate for our needs. I wish I could do this quarterly! read more

Great and wonderful experience loved the area, if your someone who is looking for a vacation that will be peaceful and relaxing this is your spot. In best word it's a location to get away from the world. No one bothered or disturbed me, The mini house was clean and had everything you'll need from towels to kitchenware the fire place came to great use. There are outdoor grills with everything you'll need to cook and a laundry room on the property. If you plan to stay here just make sure you pre plan buying food in cities before arriving. The only downside was if you wanted wifi you had pay for wifi with outrageous prices and service isn't the best in this area. Overall I would definitely book again! Before you travel & contact this "resort", be aware! The swimming pool & spa have been inoperable since 2017. There are no efforts afoot to repair either. They don't tell you that when you schedule your stay. I have been here twice & the condition is the same as it was upon my first stay. The first time, I thought it had just happened. The second time, I looked at the pump & heater. Nothing had been moved. No service person had been there in 2 years between my stay. If you call to find dimensions of charcoal cooking equipment so you may pack adequately, the women in the front office refuse to acquire the grill measurement. All you will get is a smartmouth response to your request for a measurement is, "Nope"! And then hangup the call upon you. I have experienced it! I don't know what is going on in the the office, but I suspect, the office workers are using the office as a "Day Care Center" & these "dollies" are busy painting their fingernails. But if your call is about business income, then they are all over you like a cheap suit. They are not going to get information for you which will require them to get out of their chairs & out to the maintenance shed to ask the crews. Much less measure for themselves. If you are exchanging points with RCI, this is not the place for you! There are better values out there! Yelp! as already once removed my review of this business operator after a very bad personal experience. I expect this removed within a week or less. On June 21, 2021, and after many weeks of planning the photographer, the nature preserve trip, rental cars, and more, this Resort (which is also an Endless Vacationing Rental RVC Resort Vacation Certificate TIME SHARE) abruptly canceled stating they are "extending their occupancy restrictions through July 31, 2021." THIS WAS MY 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TRIP! Side note - Disneyland is open in LA and this small shabby resort is still enforcing occupancy restrictions????? Thanks for ruing our 10 year anniversary plans !!! We will be blasting this all over social media in hopes other people will be leery of making plans with a shady RESORT (term to be used loosely I see). I will have to Cancel the photographer I had planed to use on the beach to celebrate our 10 years of marriage. I will have to tell my 5 year old she will not be able to feed the giraffes at the Nature Preserve. We are hugely disappointed and devastated. We will not ever attempt to stay here again! read more

This is a great place for a coastal getaway located just north of the very small town of Point Arena. It is on the corner of HWY 1 and Lighthouse Road While here be sure to go check out the lighthouse, it's only a mile or so away, an easy walk or a short drive. The units are small manufactured style homes that have everything you need. I like places like this because you have a lot of room to spread out, a fully equipped kitchen, queen bed, TV ( if you want ) and a gas fireplace. The separate bedroom have a queen size bed and the bathroom is nice sized as well. The sofa in the living room is a pullout queen bed. There is a small dining table and chairs. The small kitchen is fully stocked with a full size refrigerator, dishes, coffee maker, microwave and a dishwasher. They have salt,sugar, tea and coffee. Each unit has it's own porch with a table and chairs making it a great place to hang out and enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink. Each unit has its own parking. There is online laundry at the resort and you can also wheel a BBQ over. There is a small cafe on site that is open for breakfast, lunch, and the sign said they are open for dinner on the weekends only. Maybe its different in the summer. There is a very small video library and some gifts in the lobby. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay while you explore the coast. The town of Point Arena, Manchester and Gualala are only a few miles away. Mendocino is about 30 miles north which makes it a fun and easy day trip. A great alternative to a hotel, you can just spread out and enjoy your time away from it all! read more

We had a wonderful stay at this resort! Great location, beautiful and the houses we rented were so nice and cute! Sybil was the lady that helped us untangle a big mess with the company that we booked with and she was very friendly and professional. Communication and check in were smooth and well organized. The houses were very clean, well maintained and super comfortable and cozy! It is a quiet place, slightly secluded but beautiful beaches/ state park are nearby. The cute towns of Pointe Arena, Gualala and Manchester were a short drive away. Each house had a great little kitchen, a table for dining, fireplace, and small sitting/living room but the best part was the adorable COVERED front porch. Also we had 4 families on our trip and the cabins/small houses are close enough that we were able to put up a canopy and tarp in the parking area between the houses and have a nice buffet style meal Together! Overall just an amazing way to spend my 50th birthday in a beautiful, cozy place with good friends! I highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again!!!! read more

Upside is that the resort is well maintained, and the units are very clean. It's very apparent that the onsite staff does a great job maintaining the units and facilities. It's also an ideal location for exploring local trails and the beautiful NorCal coast. Absolutely LOVE the area. Worst mattress I've slept on ever. Horrible, cheap thing that makes noise every time you move. A neighbor in a nearby unit said they had just stayed in a Super8 Hotel and it was pure luxury compared to the mattresses here. The polyester sheets don't have enough elastic to stay on the mattress, the polyester bedspread slips off with every move. Probably would not stay again unless there were resort-wide mattress upgrades... read more

Great spot for some much needed rest and relaxation. Our trip was the last weekend of Feb. sadly the lighthouse was closed, but there are plenty of small hikes in the surrounding area. We also went to Fort Bragg and did the Rail Bikes. It was a neat excursion. We brought food with us to cook while we were there. The Point Arena Market was under renovation at the time, so we went to Anchor Bay Market. Such a surprise there SO MANY vegan food options. It's not often vegans can be accommodated in small towns, so we were so happy to grab some extras like vegan ice cream and faux-meats. It is not a vegan market, so non-veggies will find everything they need. Back at the cabin all the basics are provided: hairdryer, soap/shampoo/conditioner, pillows, blankets, all the kitchenware and wine glasses. There is a little electric fireplace that we used each night. The place was quite clean and well cared for. The grounds are clean and quiet. It was a little too chilly for us to hang out on the porch. We are going back for Memorial Day weekend and I can't wait to escape there!! read more

Although redecorated the Bookeepers Room is cramped and crowded with an oversized bed (two twins moved to make one bed). I am mystified how a person with a wheelchair could navagate in this room. The bathroom is ample with a nice shower but that is the only good feature. This room has no outside bench or porch like the others so you can't sit outside unless you bring your own chairs. The cost seems reasonable until they add on more costs like maid costs, dog costs. They don't do a deposit where you pay at check out. They go into your credit card and charge you weeks before your stay. When you try to call them...they are unavailable even though they say from 10:00- 4:30 p.m. you can reach them. They don't do a call forwarding for the staff to be reached. Very archaic and mom and pop. Their business plan is from the 1980's . Pt. Arena is gorgeous but their operation as a motel is archaic and not hospitable in any fashion. read more

Great location but cabins are really dark and gloomy. It's a pity they weren't painted white inside as that would have helped. Lamp shades are all dark with low watt bulbs so it was impossible to read. Bed was the squishiest I've ever experienced in a resort. The good: Great location, very pristine grounds. The cabins have full-sized refrigerators, small dishwashers and bathtubs. I've come to appreciate small spaces that still offer tubs because it is damn near impossible to enjoy yourself on a vacation with small children without one. The bad: Wifi is absurdly expensive. Also, the "voucher code" you receive when you purchase said wifi from a private service disappeared from my screen before I could enter it, and I was left having to repurchase. Extremely annoying. This would have been less of a problem if the dish service worked on the TVs, but it only worked sporadically at best. Our family occupied 3 different cabins and at any given time only one of us had service. Beds are Fulls not Queens. read more

Great little place to stay. Each cabin is its own separate building with quaint living room, kitchen, bath and bedroom. Fairly new construction. Several closets and dressers make space very manageable. Plenty of hot water, central air for heat, kitchenware and utensils. Good central location for exploring the lighthouse, bowling ball beach and up to Mendocino. Bring DVDs. Nice fireplace for ambiance and fan to heat cabin. Didn't use the pool but looked nice. There is a little store good for things you forgot to bring. The Rollerville cafe onsite has a great greasy spoon breakfast with tasty corn beef hash and chorizo scramble. read more

Bed was horrible. We had a room right by the highway so it was very noisy. But I love the idea of different cabins for everyone. Had a nice stay. Just be aware that you have to pay for wifi (we opted out and didn't pay $25 for 48 hours) and the whole town pretty much closes between 8pm-9pm. pool and hot tub were open when we visited so that was nice. It was nice to get away for a few days, but we are very tired after not sleeping well for two nights due to the bed and very busy highway right next to our window. read more

This place doesn't seem like your typical timeshare. I was bummed there were no activities. The little cabin/house you stay in are so cool!! They're the perfect size and have everything. The fireplace works great and it warms the place up in minutes. I enjoyed my stay here but probably won't come back. There really isn't much to do around here. Went to Fort Bragg 3 times and to glass Beach. Toured the lighthouse, went to bowling ball beach, went to Bryan preserve. Without a lot of driving not much else to do. This is small town living for sure. I'm glad I came here. I'll always have fond memories!! read more

Wonderful & peaceful resort. Perfect for families or anyone really! They provide everything you could need in your cabin; pots, pans, cups, silverware, wine glasses, ice bucket, cooking utensils, towels, linens, blow dryer, iron, stove, convection oven, and full size fridge/freezer. Kitchen is stocked with coffee, teas, sugar, salt & pepper, etc. Each cabin has a table and chairs indoors as well as one on the patio for comfortable dining. Additionally,There is a full laundry room on site as well as a gift shop and swimming pool. There is also a wonderfully charming little cafe on site called the Rollerville Cafe which is open to the public as well. It has limited hours and serves great breakfast and lunch items with dinner on Fri and Sat evenings. Also, there are multiple BBQs that the guests are allowed to pull over to their cabin to use and the resort even offers a communal supply or charcoal and lighter fluid, and they pick the BBQ up from you cabin the next morning to clean it. They also have a designated time to pick up trash bags off of your porch as well. The queen sized bed in the cabin was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The pillow top mattress was beyond luxurious. The fold out sofa bed was not as comfortable, but average for a sofa bed. However there were a few things that were less than perfect; When we brewed coffee in the maker in our cabin it was obvious by the taste that the maker was very dirty and/or had not been used in a long time. It was very unpleasant. In hindsight, I probably should have just asked the front desk for a replacement one, as their customer service was very good. Also the swimming pool was unheated and was FREEZING cold. My family tried twice to go swimming and could not enjoy it at all. I can understand having an unheated pool in Arizona or Texas or something, but it makes no sense to have an unheated pool in a region where summer highs are rarely above the low 70's. Probably better to not even have a pool at all in that case. And they do not offer wifi, however, we were able to buy wifi from a local provider for either $15 a day or $30 a week to have internet at the cabin. All in all, we had a wonderful time at this wonderful place. Highly recommended. read more

Pros - cottages were nice, kind of like a tiny house with living room, kitchen etc. was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect that. Very clean, included all the necessities, dishes coffee pot, toaster, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and stove. Fireplace worked well to heat the place as did the furnace. Very friendly and helpful staff. Check in check out was all smooth with zero surprises. Took a card for "incidentals" signed in, gave us a nice packet with info on the resort and the surrounding area and off we went. Really a lovely resort. Didn't use the pool but did check it out and it looked very clean and steaming so must have been heated as well. I would definitely stay here again. Cons - it was a stretch trying to come up with any so mostly just convenience things - no covered parking (it was raining), couch was not real comfortable but ok, remote location means phone service and internet are nonexistent however you can purchase WiFi which is a bit expensive but it's not bad just do the week deal not daily and it was very reliable and fast enough for what we needed. read more

This is a great location for seeing the area, Mendocino, Ft. Brag, some redwoods and of course the northern California coast and lighthouses. Checking in was a little off putting as the first thing required is to sign a sheet noting all the things you could be charged for - overly messy room at checkout, lost key, etc. The small manufactured units have the usual things you would expect in a time share, a well equipped kitchen, queen bed, TV and a gas fireplace. It was very clean! They also had a light cleaning during our week stay which was much appreciated. They have salt & pepper and coffee. I didn't use the coffee as it's a container that is shared with . . . who knows. Maybe I am fussy about open containers of food shared with those I don't know. The separate bedroom has a queen size bed that long ago reach the time for replacement! It was beyond bad and no option to anything better except to sleep on the couch, which I had to do! Note that I slept on the couch as a couch because to pull it out as a bed made it unusable. This was OK to make the trip work. The bathroom was great for one person so if you usually share with someone you will need a schedule as the only time two people can be in the room is if one is in the shower/tub or you are just standing. The unit is 425 square feet, separate bedroom, full bath, small dinette, full kitchen and living room - think about it. Each unit has it's own porch with a table and chairs - the only comfortable area to sit and feel like you have breathing room. The units are close together but you don't seem to feel crowded. You have designated parking for your unit. You share with the unit next door so if everyone is kind and they aren't driving an oversized vehicle you'll be fine. We had two different occupants while we were there and had no issues. Wifi is an extra. I read the reviews and just skipped it. I have Sprint for my phone service and although a little sketchy I could pick up email, texts and make calls. The Rollerville is a small cafe on site that is open for breakfast I guess as that's the only time we saw it open. There were many signs on the property saying is was open but NOT. There is a very small video library and some gifts on a small bookshelf in the lobby. The staff were all very friendly and somewhat helpful. I asked about some local roads and they thought they might be closed and told me that it would be posted on the road when I got there. This is a great area to vacation and we will be back as there is a lot to see. We will be looking for other options when is comes to lodging. Our backs will thank us! read more

Very nice cottage kind of lodging-actually is stationed mobile home. Very well stocked in all areas: bath, kitchen, furniture, storage. Most importantly it was very clean! Only 2 miles away from the lighthouse and that surrounding area offers fabulous coastline view. Many went there for sunset too. We once spotted a whale lingered around not far from the coast. From this resort, we made day trips to Ft. Bragg, Mendocino, Qualala and Anderson Valley's vineyard. Driving can be challenging but that's what makes the coast view and woods spectacular. We came up from Santa Rosa taking #116, up by HWY 1. And for day trip to vineyard we drove Mountain View Rd.(this section made me car sick and the scenery was nothing to write home about) to Anderson Valley and #128, HWY 1, making a circle back to the resort. On our way back to SFO, we took the suggestion in the e mail sent by the resort and it was much easier driving. read more

Beautiful area and cute cabin. Very quiet and peaceful... The only negative is the pure two hours worth of zigzaggy roads that after awhile gets pretty tedious driving. Never would I drive that at night. Stayed for a week, which was too long. The pool and jacuzzi were unusable and the "resort" offered nothing for entertainment other than some old movies that rented for $2. Some bikes and a computer in the lounge area would have been a good idea. No trips from the resort to any of the area attractions so we were on our own to get places. I love this place and have been here several times. Clean, nice people and great restaurant (with limited hours) located on site. But I have to mention something, we have been coming here for several years and when we first came they had internet and now nothing, you have to drive to other towns to get internet access. I hate to say this but this last visit was too painful without internet access (btw, I was told several times that it would be coming, except this last time they said something about being located too far out, yada, yada.) Anyway, we will not return again without internet access, it is a necessity these days for looking up things, making reservations, etc. Some people this would not bother and I say to them stay here it is great place. read more

Well this is an interesting place to stay. These are park model trailers. 10x40. They are clean and in a very wooded area. You will have to purchase internet for $29.99 a week. The phone service is awful. We have Verizon but it isn't great. Some of the time we can text. But not always. Lots of little towns around the area. The mattress in our unit (#40) was so soft we had to cut our vacation short due to poor sleep and aching backs! Office hours are limited as it is but the office was closed during stated hours (on a Thursday morning) so we had to leave the ONLY key we had been given in the lockbox provided for this purpose along with our evaluation. As others have noted, cell phone reception is poor at best (we, too, have Verizon) so when I got home I had a voicemail from one of the office staff threatening me with a $50 charge if we didn't return BOTH keys. It turns out the office had the second key all along but did I receive a follow-up apology call? No! The onsite restaurant inexplicably closed one (1) of the only two (2) nights it is supposed to be open each week. Since we had made plans to eat there that evening, this disrupted our schedule and was an inconvenience. When we visited for brunch before driving home, the restaurant's credit card machine wasn't working...but no notice from the restaurant to let diners know this and make alternate plans if they didn't have cash (ATMs are few and far between...as are gas stations). Also, the only restrooms for the restaurant (outside) had no towels. The instructions for using the TVs in the units were very poorly written and confusing; there were no instructions for turning the sets off. This place has potential. It's not a bad home base for visiting the beautiful coastline and wine tasting is only a little over an hour away. But it desperately needs new management who will replace worn-out furniture and provide, at a minimum, its own Internet service instead of making every guest spend an additional $30/week for what has come to be a necessity for many. read more
