Wildwood is a nice park hidden among the trees. They have some playground equipment for the kiddos and a fitness trail for the adults. Several of the pieces of equipment on the fitness trail are kaput, but it's still a nice place to walk through. Lots of picnic shelters that can be reserved, though some are kinda really in disrepair. The log cabin style one looks rustically nice, but there are a lot of holes in the roof. There's also a creek with easy access so you can dip your feet in on the hot days. Definitely awesome when our giant sky oppressor is in full force since you can hide under the trees, but a good option regardless of weather. read more

How have I not reviewed Wildwood?! My first visit was years ago, but I recently took my kids for a last summer excursion. As per usual, it was a great experience. This is a great park for the summer. It's CRAZY shaded so you don't have to worry about the slides getting hot (which is crazy because they're metal). There are two play structures - one being suited to toddlers and one to older kids. The highlight of the park is obviously the creek. It was a warm day and I dressed my kids accordingly because I knew they'd play in the water! Annnnnnddd they did. I'm glad that they did because it's a great element to the park. I don't think this'll be a fall season park choice, but for warmer days, it is THE spot. Worth the visit! There's also trails surrounding the park if you're looking for a little oasis tucked into the city. read more

Great small multi-layered/sectioned park with so much beauty a lush waterfalls and atmosphere. Usually like to walk around here and take in the more intimate nature of this Puyallup park with lots of trails. Great for hiking, biking and families with kiddos as they have tons of playground equipment and covered areas that are great for less rainy day picnics and hangouts. They have a take a book leave a book box near the main area by the resident caretakers home that's always plenty stoked up. The Wildwood Park reminds me a little of summer camp with lots of areas to explore. Even when the weather is less traditional Washington State it's never too busy here and a nice alternative to Bradley Lake Park just down the road (not that it's a bad park... just a lot more foot traffic). Wildwood Park is one of my favorites especially in the summer when the weather warms up because of how shaded it is because of the trees. There is a playground, restrooms, trails, a storywalk, lending library, pavilions you can rent and more. My kids love playing in the little water stream and exploring around the park. I would definitely recommend this park if you're in the area especially during the summer. read more

Was invited ti a potluck at one if the shelters. I had know idea the park was like a nature preserve/campground like. NOT a campground but it reminds you if time spent at one. Lots if trails thru the wilderness with playground and fields as well. Shelters are by reservation. I was surprised we had this gem so nearby. read more

This is a great neighborhood park in the Puyallup area. The park has really nice walking paths through gorgeous forest and shaded areas. There are plenty of places to park, there are shelters for picnics, etc. read more

Beautiful park and walking trails! My little ones loved the stream and spent a good hour building a dam with some other kids there. Loved it. The playground is nice there is a small and a big structure for kids to play on. Just a note...there was an older man who made me feel a little uneasy walking around. He stopped by the creek and was just staring at my little one (long enough to make me uncomfortable) and then tried making conversation with me after I called her over about how frequent we visit there and if we lived in the area...after he walked off i noticed he was talking to some other moms with their kids playing on the playground. Maybe he was just being friendly? Not too sure. read more

A playground available for kids, picnic tables, a stream and waterfall that goes through the park. The whole park is beautiful and relaxing. I have to say this is the most nicest parks in town. Visited the playground portion. Nice little creek stream for kids to splash around, all the kids had rain boots unfortunately we didn't, and play structures. The surrounding tall trees keep the area wet and muddy. Lots of secluded trails we didn't see many people outside of the playground area. There are also complaints an older man approaching woman and kids with other suss men being around as well. Recommend going as a group or staying in the populated areas. Stay safe! read more

My husband and I are new to the area and we cannot wait to explore this nice local park! The stream is so pretty and the small waterfall is nice. We don't have kids but the playground looked well kept and was full of kids and parents. We just took the small asphalt loop around but we noticed a bunch of off-road trails which we are excited to check out when we go again. There is also a fitness path which looks neat! read more

I've been in here multiple times with my children and there are always sketchy people around. (Example: people sitting in their cars drinking, smoking, loitering) Also due to the trees the sun does not shine in the park, which could be good on a hot day, yet there are a lot of mosquitos and bugs. There is a nice childrens park with a waterfall and creek. UPDATE: We went letter boxing a few weeks ago and my son found a used needle!! This is such a nice park, I would be glad to help make it better if I could. :( read more

We really love this park, and just recently rediscovered this place. 80 acre wooded park with picnic shelters, walking trails, a waterfall and even some jungle gym toys. Great for all ages, and crowds are light because the park is tucked away halfway down the hill. read more

First off, below you will find some very judgmental people who have taken the opportunity to judge others. I'm a little frustrated by this. I feel that this park should be judged by what it has to offer and not the people within because they are not the park and that's what the review is for. Did any of you who judged these people stop and talk to them? Or did you just stare and make assumptions that they were bad or suspicious people? I personally feel that the park shouldn't be judged by the people visiting. I love this park and it's beautiful. Did I say I loved this park? Lol. I'm not jaded by the beauty of this wonderful state because I'm not from here. I'm from San Diego where the beaches are awesome but the weather is lacking rain which means little growth of vegetation. This park is beautiful and don't get me started on the playground because this playground has a little stream-beach like gem sitting right next to it. I know of nothing like this park in San Diego. There are a ton of trails to explore and my children where in heaven the entire time we were there. We went on a nice day, about 75 degrees, and saw no mosquitoes but I'm sure they can be found because I experienced this at another park after a week of nice weather. But honestly guys, this is Washington. This is a rainy winter state that gets hot in the summers so yes, there are mosquitoes. You can prepare for nature by using some tea tree essential oils mixed with water in a small travel size spray bottle or buy some bug spray if the weather is warm and damp enough for mosquitoes to be out. As for these people that seemed to be up to no good... I did see this "suspicious" car with a young man inside. At first I was a little uncertain, it just seemed strange and I don't want to go into detail because it's his business and not mine but for the sake of review it seemed as though he was sitting chillin and smoking, n his car, and away from my kids. My family and I were on a hike so we kept on moving by. On the way back this same guy was out of his car. My son saw he had a Kendama which is a wooden toy with a string and ball that has a hole. The object is to swing the ball and land it on the flat or pointed end of the wood. They've been around forever but recently became popular again. Anyway, my son mentioned it out loud and this guy hears him and asks if my kid wanted to see him play. Turns out he is a competitor in Kendama competitions and really good. Super cool guy too. Friendly and kind. I walked all over this park and didn't see anything but people enjoying there day and my boys, husband and I all had a really enjoyable time. They all agree and we plan on going back soon. If you don't want to go to wildwood because of these bad reviews, by all means don't go. That just means more elbow room for my family and I while your not there. Lol. Seriously though, and I hope you don't mind my sense of humor from above, go check out this park before not going. Yes, it is a little tricky to find because the signs but it's worth the chance to see for yourself. Also, I went for the adventure. I love adventures so of course I was climbing the hills and over streams with my three boys and it was a blast. I didn't just go for the park but I'd do that too on a day I don't feel like hiking because the nature is fantastic here!!! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this park as much as I. Thanks for reading. Awesome, awesome, amazing playground nestled in the woods!!! Playground equipment is well maintained, grounds are well kept. There is a creek that runs right next to the playground. The creek has multiple little bridges to play on. There are little trails along the creek as well. Bathrooms are about a 3 minute walk up hill. Parking is easiest if you follow the signs for shelter # 10 and park at the top of the stairs from the playground. read more

We love Wildwood Park! Its like driving through a camp ground. The parking area at the toys is very small, but you can always park elsewhere and walk to the toys. Good range of toys for all ages of kids, and a creek thats always fun to play in! We like the fitness trail too, to burn off some energy before playing at the playground. Great park! It's gorgeous and has plenty of opportunity for walking, playground play, and free play in the stream or in the woods. Covered picnic areas and plenty of space for lunch. You drive in and forget your in the middle of a residential area and right down from the mall. I only wish it had better signage. read more

Cute little park. Good for foraging! Many wild edible plants including stinging nettles and miner's lettuce. In the woods there are lots of rocks stacked precariously on top of one another. Like, everywhere. You can't walk two steps without seeing another pile of stacked rocks or pebbles. It's a little unnerving! read more

We love coming to Wildwood park on a hot summer day because is heavily shaded. The playground toys are old but that is part of the charm for us. Only downside is there are no swings. Lots of trails and a little waterfall. My kids love coming here. read more

Great park! Lots of covered picnic tables, you can rent them and they have fire pits in some of them, great place for the kids to hike, run, play in the stream of water, climb, play on toys, etc.. It's a great park! PERFECT for a family afternoon, lots of walking you can do, running, playing you name it! Bathrooms on site, drive slow as there is people walking around, parking gets crowded time to time, but there is different parking areas, it's almost like a camp ground, with toys etc.. Pretty nice park. I really like the Jim Mortenson exercise trial. It's a good challenge. It's very covered and forest like, doesn't feel super open and exposed like Bradley Lake, I enjoy the privacy of the park. If you are worried about sun exposure with your little ones (obviously in the summer months) it has pretty good shade. It's fun to explore the trails. The park gets a little questionable after hours because it is so secluded, but great to use during the day. There are sketchy people in there sometimes, but a quick call of the cops ends that problem. Good park to walk in and great to go to during the really hot times in the summer since it stays cool thanks to the thick trees and creek next to the playground. Parking is a bit of a trick, upper lot (in NW corner) is only good place. Baseball fields are really good too, but lot there is stuffed with cars when games are going on.. makes parking more difficult. All in all, a good park and one overlooked in that area of Puyallup since Bradley Lake opened in 2001. read more
