love a duck dish! but this duck was maybe a bit dry. the Cortland apples in the dish were an excellent touch. the potatoes were a bit too oily. got in pretty quick on a Monday with no wait, the space of the restaurant is a bit small but service was pretty quick

We arrived in Ottawa early in the morning from our 4.5hrs drive from Quebec City. This was our first stop before venturing out into the city. When we entered, there was one party ahead of us. We waited about 10mins before they texted me that our table was ready. Our servers were great and attentive. You can tell their food is made with good quality and organic. Thanks for the great service!! We ordered: Florentino eggs benedict Buttermilk french toast Duck benedict

My hubby and I decided to go here for a brunch date since we had a $25 gift card to use here. We arrived at 10am and were told that it would be an hour wait to get a table. We were called after 40min went by, so it wasn't too bad of a wait since we popped over to Arlington Five, the next door coffee shop, to hang out. I ordered the Blackstone Eggs Benny ($23) that came with a choice of all home fries or half home fries half salad. I chose the latter and I liked the fresh lemony vinaigrette on the salad. My Eggs Benny was perfectly cooked and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. My hubby ordered the Breakfast Burger ($24) that is made with local ground beef and St. Albert's cheddar. He let me have a bite and it was a pretty tasty and juicy burger. It also came with home fries. We both ordered coffee as our drinks and we were told that it was from Arlington Five, but the taste was so acidic compared to the latte and cappuccino we had tried earlier at Arlington Five. Normally we would both have at least two cups of coffee with our breakfast, but neither of us wanted more than one cup even with cream. I had a hard time even finishing one cup. The vibe and service here were good. Our overall experience was good since the food was very fresh and the portions were quite satisfying. I can see why it's popular among the locals, but I still much prefer Chesterfield's as our go-to brunch spot given their prices and quality and quantity of food. Although Wilf & Ada's was good, I'm not in a big rush to go back as I feel Chesterfield's has more memorable and creative brunch dishes plus way better coffee.

This is easily regarded as one of the best brunch spots in the Ottawa area. I found some of the items to be delicious, but also maybe not up to the hype that I was expecting. I had the duck eggs, Benedict and it had a really interesting flavour and a great amount of meat available. My partner at the large breakfast, and it was definitely large to say the least. I did find the flavours to be a bit subtle,, so if you were someone who likes strong and unique flavours are we consider these to be more classic. The only downside of this location are at the limited seating options as well as a limited hours of operation. As someone who loves bacon, I was also a little disappointed by the meat because it was definitely a gray colour and seemed a little bit off in terms of the flavor. Something I do really like about the location is that they support a lot of local businesses , and you can see an extensive list of businesses that are being supported at the community.

Visiting Ottawa, looking for a place between the Glebe and downtown for lunch and this came out with strong reviews. Got there at 12:15 on a Thursday and had about a 20 minute wait. Menu looked great, vibe is great, service excellent. I ordered the "Off the menu" special of meatballs with cheese curds, arugula and spicy tomato sauce with a mix of fries and salad and it was all terrific. Yelpers were right again! It was not all that spicy, which was fine with me.

Great ambiance, great service and great food from scratch. Expect a wait for a table but it's worth it.

Sometimes you feel for a nice place that serves good coffee and eggs, but not the kind you have in all these pubs downtown. After all, isn't a pub a place where to drink beers in good company and watch a good game? At Wilf & Ada's, we had a great chat and a very nice meal. While my friend choose a classic breakfast dish, I took a very special Eggs Benny called Mariposa duck. The dish includes with the eggs Benedict confit duck with roasted squash and leek. The taste of leek had somewhat dissolved in the combination of ingredients, but I really liked the mix of confit and squash. The service is quite good and staff very friendly. But if you plan trying out their food, make sure to first check their opening hours.

I love the service. Too one. The lady who serves and takes the order is very very nice! Food was cool, busy business. We were looking for a good hollándose sauce, but it wasn't all that compare to Quebec City one ..

I got the hungry human and it was amazing! Instead of beans, we both did an extra egg. I had sausage and bacon for my sides and the French toast was great. Love their potatoes and sourdough bread. My husband got the classic and also loved it! Great place for gluten free options! We didn't have a wait on a Thursday morning around 11.

Wilf and Ada's is super popular. I think it has the most reviews on Yelp for a restaurant in Ottawa, definitely in the top 5 at least. It's been on my list of places to try for a while, but apparently the waits are epic, especially on the weekends, so I've been putting it off. Well, I happened to be in the area with my husband on a Friday morning and we walked by and saw empty seats, so we went in. Overall, the food was good, but I personally did not feel that it lived up to the hype. I got the "Eggs in Purgatory" ($16.28) which I think is their signature dish. It's poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce, topped with argula and grana padano cheese. Served with toast and home fries. It's similar to Shakshuka. I did like that the toast was served dry and not drenched in butter. The eggs were soft poached, which I like, and the tomato sauce was flavourful. It was slightly spicy. The peppery flavour of the argula went well with this dish. The home fries were crispy and abundant. My husband had the Hungry Man Breakfast ($19.21). This came with 2 eggs any style (over easy), toast, beans, home fries, 2 sides (bacon and sausage) and French toast. He really enjoyed it. The French toast had a fruit compote on it and some whipped cream. It was served on a separate plate and looked pretty. Service was nice enough. The place is a bit on the smaller side, and I felt that tables were really close together. In the winter, when people have their coats behind their chairs it just makes the place look and feel very cramped. They also own Arlington Five, a cafe around the corner. If Wilf and Ada's is full they take down customers' names and numbers and send them to Arlington Five and advise them to wait for a call when their table is ready. What a smart business strategy! I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be a regular. Street parking only.

Came here for brunch with some friends on a Sunday morning. This place does not take reservations and has pretty limited seating. the wait to get in the restaurant was pretty long around 12pm. Once we got in we were also pretty rushed to leave after eating since they were closing soon. I got the duck egg Benedict and I barely got any duck. The flavour otherwise was pretty average, very standard egg Benedict.

It's always been a special morning when we got Broadway for breakfast. They're a similar restaurant to Zak's Diner; with great food and their signature Homefries (that could sometimes use a bit more seasoning). You can get their Homefries anytime, even after breakfast, but their quality isn't as good as fresh in the morning. On top of just the food, the have amazing service. The staff is always happy for a quick chat or there for a good recommendation. In terms of speed, it depends on when you come, but provided you know what you want, it can be as little as 5 minutes (the time it'd take to drive to the store). Now to the Ambiance. The place is inspired by NYC's Broadway (specifically their Musicals) so the restaurant's walls are decorated accordingly. Overall, this is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Ottawa, and probably my favourite one for eating breakfast. My only qualm is asking that the Homefries receive more seasoning, but that is something so minor that it shouldn't result in the loss of a star from my review, and similarly it only really happens when I order takeout. Edit: I forgot to mention that from what I've seen, the owners are great people. Some of their staff have worked for over 10 years (some over 20), and they still have good things to say of their bosses (the staff, I mean), which is not something you tend to see. Also, this place is locally owned and operated.

I went pretty early both times and I was the first or second table there. I ordered the Trio Sante (a combination of yogurt, fresh fruit, and house-made granola) on my first visit and the ARC French Toast on my second. Both were excellent - I even dreamt about the french toast for awhile after =P There was just something about the contrast between the soft, rich, custard-like interior and the crunchy, oat-encrusted exterior in combination with a delicate spice, warm maple syrup, and tangy citrus butter... yum. To drink, I tried the drip coffee and a latte - both were average. The decor is modern and clean lines, with some elements from nature. It's bright and sunlight streams in from the windows. Basically, a great setting for a relaxing breakfast. Keeping in mind that both times I was one of only a few people there, service was appropriately attentive - i.e., there when it was necessary and not over bearing. Prices were on the high side, but probably on par with what would be expected in a hotel restaurant. I would come here again if I were staying at the hotel but, truth be told, there are other breakfast/brunch places in Ottawa that are higher on my list of places to go.
