They changed my oil and rotated my tires in half the time they said it would take (great expectation management there), personally walked me through everything on the invoice, gave me a few things to keep an eye on and sent me on my way. The best part was they mail a handwritten thank you note after your service! I love that. They have got me as a loyal customer now. Never again. The quote we received was high, I went in to pick up our vehicle after they called with the quote and was talked into doing half the repairs and then told it would be ready Monday. I tried to call Monday no answer, no call back and instead went in at the end of the day to ask about additional work and get an update. The manager was not there and no one could give me an answer. They did say no one was there working on the car because that person left for personal reasons and the car would not be ready until tomorrow which was all I was told. Tuesday I called again left a message. Called again was told this time they could not really help with the work I had asked about the day before and could not give me a quote but that the car was ready. Again I called twice and they are telling me this. I go in try to pay with a check and am told they cannot make an exception no checks anymore. They changed their policy. We explained again that I literally did not have a card due to fraud on my account, the bank is 50 feet away and they refused. Manager was a smooth talker and I completely regret giving them any business and should have taken our vehicle the day I went in to get it. This place is Not willing to help, not personal and terrible communication. Really has gone down hill with new owners. Lesson learned, NEVER AGAIN. read more

I went in today to get a price for a wheel bearing. I received a quote of $760 for the one wheel bearing, knowing that this was double the price it should be. I questioned the associate on why the pricing was so high. The minute he opened up his mouth, I knew he was lying. He was telling me about all the electronics that were associated with this bearing. By the way, it was open plug that needed to be disconnected and reconnected that a monkey could have done in 20 seconds! I went down to Break Masters on Carefree HW and was quoted $320. Do yourself a favor and STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN! Nothing but lies in order to try and make an extra dollar. Nobody minds getting screwed, but it doesn't have to be painful. Tried to use wilhelms multiple times as they are nearby. However, both times they try to up sell for additional repairs (night I add outrageously expensive compared to other shops that actually performed my work needed). Had one car brought I. For a diagnostic check. Dropped the car off at 10am wasn't ready till 5pm!!! Again, they were just looking at the car not performing any work at this time. What can one guy say? The reviews here say it all. I actually told Mike (who is a great customer service rep) that i wish i had more car problems so i could come back more often. I had found them years ago but my car runs great with no needs, but... this time wanted some preventative work done. I called, Made an appt. and he quoted about $129 for the work. (WHICH WAS FAIR given most prices for the same work and MORE THAN FAIR considering my dealer wanted to "knock it out around $250" - their words). I got the bill.... $117. I like paying less. But it's the attitude, the care, the "we want to make you happy" approach to customers here. I had a coupon for an oil change from my dealer (whom i will NEVER go to again). Go anywhere and an oil change is $20-30. So i figured i had it ok with a $25 credit from dealer. (ok, It's PInnacle Nissan). I got the oil changed, gave them my coupon and THEY STILL WANTED ANOTHER $27 - cause their OC is now $45.00. Wilhelm.... normally $29 and they have specials as well. Have 2 pampered, old vehicles with extremely low mileage. Wilhelm serviced '05 Toyota Tacoma (55K miles) A/C, as it was not putting out sufficient cool air, and to check for musty, wet doggy odor. Cost $265 to evacuate/ recharge system. Asked them to install new cabin filter (5-10 minutes) within glove box compartment, while they were in there. I have installed cabin filter (easy process) myself before. Drove home and noticed musty, wet dog odor remained, returned, and they cleaned condenser/radiator of debris for another $20 - although there should not have been another charge. Had to return again to have glove box correctly attached where cabin filter was located, because I feared Wilhelm might have broken small clip - 1 minute - to reattach. But the $285 and 3 trips was too high for this service. Didn't want to judge Wilhem solely on one expensive experience. So then had '05 Audi TT (36K miles) A/C also checked, only for musty, wet dog odor, because it was already putting sufficient cool air. Supplied them with a new cabin filter (2-5 minute install) to reduce my cost. Bill $120, nonetheless, because they had to clean out rodent materials that had gotten into cabin filter. Still too expensive. So the $405 for the two above services was exorbitant. But maybe it's a positive that all personnel were quite congenial, probably to justify their costly bills. read more

I find it incredibly hard to believe that this place has such glowing reviews. I'll give them credit... the customer service is awesome and they're super friendly. Unfortunately, after several separate visits with two different cars I can say I'm more than happy to be taking my business elsewhere. I took my old car in for a new air conditioning compressor and ended up with loud rattling and vibration they "just can't find." It was clearly messed up. Boyfriend went in with his car numerous times for the axle seal on his car. The first time he brought it in the issue was identified, he was told that the parts would need to be ordered and was sent on his way with the car. One week passed and he hadn't heard from them. It was clear when he finally called that they dropped the ball and never ordered the part as numerous obvious excuses were made. Finally the part comes in and they went to work. After bringing the car home fluid was leaking all over the garage floor. When he brought it back he was told that they didn't have the correct tools and just tried to make do with what they had but would order the correct ones to fix the problem. One year later and the same issue shows up on the other side. He brought in photos of the fluid and area the part was leaking. When shown the photos and after looking at the car they say, "well, it's dry now." Hmmm.... read more

It might be a couple days before they could look at it and I would need to leave it for several hours. The place I ended up taking it to checked it out in 20 min and were swamped with customers. I took my CR-V to these guys for a check engine light and weird shuddering while idling. They did some maintenance, but after I got the vehicle home, the light came back on. When they looked at it again the next day, they realized the repair was a lot bigger than the diagnostic revealed, and way more than the car was even worth. On a Friday afternoon, when they had 18+ cars to finish before 5:00 p.m., he took the time to put my car up on the rack to see what damage had been done after hearing something ricochet several times under my car at 50+ mph. I was so concerned the catalytic converter had been damaged. Imagine my relief when he showed me the impressive sized hole in my muffler, but assured me there was no other damage. Called here to get a quote or rough estimate for a fuel pump replacement on a 2003 Mercedes. The person answering the phone was extremely polite (which is why they get the ONE STAR). He informed me they needed the VIN number for their "system" so I quickly provided that. They also took my telephone number so they could call me back after they looked up the information. They never called back. I consider that bad business and extremely rude. Maybe they thought I was some poor SOB that needed to keep an extremely old car with extremely high mileage running for main transportation and that I was looking for a very cheap job. Well, regardless of their reasons for not calling me back, one thing is sure - they will never get to work on my 2007 Corvette, my 2015 Mercedes C300, my 2016 Mercedes CLA, or my 2016 Z51 Corvette or any car I decide to buy in the future. read more

Initial Contact: Amar was very polite and thorough with obtaining the necessary information and scheduling the appointment. I fully appreciate your use of technology; text message reminders, email messages and auto correct (as I wrote my review on your website). Vehicle Drop Off: Dropped off the truck before closing the day before my appointment. Mike confirmed the service to be done and said he would be in touch the following day. My wife and I were very impressed with the cleanliness of the reception area and the service bays. Thursday Morning Follow Up: Mike called as promised with some more questions about my history with the vehicle (2004 F150, 118 K miles purchased in 03/15) and presented a list of manufacturer recommended maintenance items for 30K and 100K miles which pushed my total to almost $2K. One of the items was replacement of the spark plugs. Mike explained that on the particular engine in the truck the spark plugs had a tendency to break off and to be prepared for that to occur. I explained to Mike that I had plans for a weekend camping trip and would need the truck at about noon on Friday. He said he would be in touch to let me know of the progress. Friday Morning Follow Up: Mike called me to let me know that two of the first three spark plugs broke off during removal and that they would not be able to finish the vehicle in time for my trip. Service Above and Beyond Expectations: After telling me that the truck wouldn't be ready in time for my trip, Mike didn't hesitate to tell me that Wilhelm would make arrangements with Enterprise for me to pick up a rental for the weekend at their expense. I picked up the truck at a location close to my home and the reservation was all set. All I had to do was fill out the necessary paperwork. Vehicle Pick Up: The truck was finished Monday afternoon and my wife and I were able to pick it up before returning the rental, eliminating some extra driving for us. Mike explained everything that had been done, showed us the old spark plugs and explained the Wilhelm Care Program and all of the features and benefits. Recommendation: I would not hesitate to recommend Wilhelm Automotive to anyone seeking an auto repair facility. I brought my suv in this week check engine light popped up. They ran diagnostics which usually after that you figure out what's wrong with a vehicle. Mike called me back to inform me he needed me to run another diagnostics to further review the vehicle. First off I called around 149 dollars for a diagnostics is very high. Typical this is 100 charge for most mechanics. Secondly the point of a diagnostics is to found out what's wrong with the vehicle. Not tell me I couldn't figure everything out so I need to run another one. After that Mike told my a bunch of issues with my car and the bill was 6000 plus. I understand most shops make there money on labor and that makes sense. I then called around to see how much parts were I saved myself thousands alone. Glad I pulled my car out of that shop. There looking to rip people off that don't know much or take the time to research. Further more mike was very aggressive and loud when I went to pull my car out. Even threaten me to listen to the audio tapes when I just wanted answers to why he thought it was right to charge me twice for the diagnostics alone. Which was just the first red flag.
