I've just recently moved to the area and was told this was the place to eat. I've been there a few times and yes the food has been excellent everytime. Most of the bartenders are good but not all. Five stars because this place is great and definitely a 5 star place in their bar/ restaurant category. Great Service, Food and Prices. I suggest the grilled ham& cheese or the ribs. Both were great! This place is a sports bars with slot machines. Don't let that deter you. The food was amazing! We are from CA and are used to good tasting food...we can be a bit snobby, because we are so spoiled with where we live. I had the best BLTA I have ever had. The didn't skimp on anything. Really good burgers, cooked very well! We go there to get food, so we don't have much to say about the drinks or any of the bar related stuff. The food is well worth it, eat in or take out! The tots are good, they put this seasoning on it... a little spice to it. So far I haven't found a better burger place in Albany. I think this must be it! And the prices are reasonable. It's hard to find if you don't know where to look, we drove by it before finally seeing the sign. But otherwise, once you find it, you'll be back! read more

The food here is great. The service is good, provided you're you are not calling in a to-go order. So tired of calling, only to have the phone ring incessantly. Tonight, called in and the phone was picked up and I could hear music and people talking but nobody came on to take the order. Then someone said, "Hello, hello". The HUNG UP! Been here a couple times with my husband and he really loves it. The beer selection is ok, it is kind of a mix of low end albany taste and then a few taps for beer lovers. But what has brought us back is the club sandwich! It is HUGE, and delish. I see a lot of review about bad service, and I am not sure I can totally agree or disagree. The service seems to be that really hometown kind of service where the bartenders and servers seem to know everybody so it is not a big deal if they are rude or not. We have not had any bad experience, but watch out tread lightly with a couple of them!!! Plus it seems like if you are any sort of significant other of an employee, you sit down at the end and hang out next to the walkway and hang out. Kinda weird. Food Poisoning..... My boyfriend has wanted to try this place, so we came over after the Calapooia Blues Jam. Found a parking space, the only one available and headed in. Got a couple of spots at the bar, we were greeted by the bartender and ordered an IPA & a club soda with lime. The bartender did a couple of things before actually getting to our drinks, needing to confirm mine again before getting it. The place was a little busy, but I wouldn't say they were slammed... in addition to the bartender there were two others on the floor and at least two in the kitchen. It took longer than it should have for our Chef Salad & the Turkey Bacon Sandwich with fries. But to be fair, there were three tables ahead of our order that all seemed to have ordered at the same time. The sandwich was nicely grilled on sourdough and served with a decent portion of well cooked fries. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. My salad was huge, and severely lacking on the salad component. Mostly chopped meats & shredded cheeses piled on top of some greens with a few grape tomatoes and a few (literally there were three) slices of cucumber, a sliced hard boiled egg on top with a decent portion of dressing on the side. It was good, but the ratio of meats to the rest was way off.... Again, the salad was huge, couldn't eat even half of it. So, all was well until about 2 - 2 1/2 hours later. I got to spend the rest of my night on the toilet. Stomach cramping... and ugh. I'll spare you the details. They may want to check on their hand washing and cross contamination possibilities for where the salads are prepared. Should have eaten at the Pooia. read more

Love Wilhelms! We always get great service, the food is excellent and the drinks are great. Some of the other reviews state that it can be crowded but that's because it is a great place to go and so many people like it! Get there early for a good seat but the Spicy Chicken Pasta is to die for along with the tator tots! read more

Lunch on 7/20. Yuck. I was pretty disappointed. I was a regular here for many years - knew the staff. Moved away the past year and came in for lunch with hubby. Service was terrible. Went in to Wilhelms tonight for a beer. We went to the bar because it was busy. Looked at the beer selection and my girlfriend asked for a taste of the grate white beer. The bartenders response was "if you were 21 you would know what you want to drink." ......she answered what I want is to try the grate white. This place is awesome! They have fantastic food, service, and drinks! Their food is fabulous I am a huge fan of the california wrap as I have had many and would so continue it. The ingredients are of maxmal freshness and have a nice good crunch like a veggie should. We came in for a birthday and they offered up their speciality birthday drink for my boyfriend. Wow, he was pretty well done for after that (in the best way possible), and this was our first stop! We all ordered dinner, service was prompt and the food was steaming hot, even though the place was packed. the servers were very friendly and helpful. They were constantly checking on us to which is always good. My boyfriend had one of their burgers for dinner and was very impressed the sheer volume of it was crazy. All the ingredients were very fresh and the fries were great! Hot, just crispy enough, and not soaked in grease. I only wish that they weren't just a bar with food so that we could eat here more often! It's great though if you are looking for a great night out with your significant other and want to have great food and drinks among great people. Food Take Out at this place is HORRIBLE, the food was not worth the money either! I called and placed an order, the girl who answered the phone said they were swamped and she was the only one there with one cook and that if I placed an order, it would take longer than usual as their in-house customers came first. Really? It's lunchtime, how is this my problem? I ordered, paid and we picked up when she said we should. She then would not let my co-worker leave due to her not having enough of a tip? Since when are tips required? We picked the damn food up! She told my co-worker we set them back with our order, how dare us! The girl then called me and demanded what she claimed was the balance of the tip, would not let my co-worker take the food without it. This entire experience was disturbing! We will spread the word, extremely crappy customer service, can't even imagine what it's like to go there!! The manager of this joint should seriously make some changes. read more
