I have been going to the Joliet restore for quite a few years now. I usually have a pretty good experience but the last few times I left feeling very irritated with the manager. I have also noticed that things have gotten pretty pricey in the last year. There is a man that works there, I think he may be the manager, that is very rude. I have negotiated on prices in the past when buying furniture pieces and he acted like I was asking him to buy it for me. I understand the goal is to make as much money as possible to not only sustain the store but the charity as well, but that doesn't mean that you treat people so bad that they choose not to come back. I would have only given one star but the other people that work there are very nice and the store is a great resource for people and I would hate to know that one person's bad attitude would cause people not to shop there. read more

I had visited this establishment and I must point out that during my time there they came off as racist and very poorly managed but the female employee with the rainbow hair was really helpful and informative. Also at one point the lady whom I assume is the manager was being very unprofessional. I personally will not be going back. read more

I don't know how this location was missed in the listings! They opened here in Joliet a few years ago. We have been going there several times a month ever since. When I need something for the house, or for a project, they are the first place we check! You just never know what you may find there. I needed a 25 foot VGA cable for a show, didn't have time to drive to Westmont to get one. We stopped at the ReStore just for anyhow, and amazingly, they actually had one! I think I paid a whole $5 for it and it saved the day! I don't think there was another one available in the entire city of Joliet that day. The people there are awesome, always willing to try to get you what you want and willing to work with you. Plus, it's fun! read more

Great place to buy donated new and used home needs like tools, lighting fixtures, cabinets, flooring, sinks, and brand new items, like paint and scratch and dent furniture. Ashley, Lazy boy, and Wayfair are a few companies which donate items here. All items in store are donations, so no guarantee that stoves, etc. work, but prices are below fair market value. And sales are used to fund the nonprofit building of homes for families in need. I would prefer to buy anything here knowing this, than at a regular store. read more

This store has numerous and varied inventory, however, I rarely find what I need. Their items are of a more current date, which are beneficial to many in the community. Price varies... some prices are reasonable while others are a bit high. I enjoy looking around to see if they have something I need for my house. It is a nice asset to the community and the employees are fairly friendly. I reccomend stopping in as you never know what you will find. read more

Very disappointed in the way you are treated when donating high end items and scheduling pick up. Ended up having to bring it there ourselves. Model home furniture being donated and they acted like they were doing us a big favor by taking items they were going to get top dollar for. No longer my charity of choice. read more

We've tried donating items to this location and the 2 times we've been told they won't accept them. Half the time the prices are the same as if you would go to the store and purchase them brand new. read more

Not a great experience so far. Will update if it gets better. The place is clean and well organized. The people range from super friendly to fairly hostile. They told me they would do something and several hours later it wasn't done. We did have to return what we bought because we didn't have the correct outlet for it and it didn't even have a cord. They reluctantly allowed a return for store credit after we went back 2 times and the paper I was given doesn't say it's a credit or what store it's for or anything. We will see what happens when we try to use it and I will update my comments. read more

I called to see if they would take our 25 year old hutch. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very kind and I was able to schedule the pick up for the following week. I received a reminder call that morning and the gentlemen who picked up the hutch were very polite and nice. I look forward to visiting the store as well! read more

the selection isn't great, but the store and its items are kept surprisingly clean. everyone is really helpful, especially one of the young men they had help us carry our table out today. he really went out of his way to help us break the table down and make sure everything fit before he went back in. it's nice to know that you're not only getting a cool antique for yourself, but also giving back through HFH. read more
