I've been going here for about a year since I moved from Southern California. Melissa cuts and colors my fine hair (which can be difficult to work with) and does a great job. I highly recommend her. Also, this is the only salon I could find that does semi-permanent color and they use a high quality non damaging product. Unlike with permanent hair color, my auburn color doesn't get over saturated and it has a nice red in it each time. I have naturally dirty blonde hair so it also helps the roots to not look stark when my hair grows. The salon also uses Kevin Murphy products and you can get a good sized trial sample before buying the full size. Melissa also cuts my son's hair since the child's salon across the road was not doing a good job. You have to know what you're doing when you cut short hair and Melissa definitely knows how to cut hair well. Hope this review helps someone. read more

She is an absolute artist when it comes to lashes, people always ask me if my lashes are real and how amazing they look. WARNING: Okay so I got my nails done at William Charles salon in old Roseville by Vanessa Torres on Wednesday July 15th 2015 I went in she was super nice and inviting, but I had a 4pm appointment. I got there a half hour early and she didn't start on my nails till 4:30. She was using a different method than I had tried before she did sculpted nails. I was intrigued so I wanted to try them out. So she then applied the set and I loved them she was awesome perfect length shape color. Except for the thickness she had told me they should be as thick as a penny and the glitter will also thicken it. I said okay no worries. I don't think nails should be 3x a penny in thickness. Only my thumb was like that. I got home still loving my nails and a short 3 days later nails just started popping off like nothing 5 came off.... Pretty upset I texted her and she wanted to make it right I was very appreciative for that. But what had happened when I got them "fixed" was inexcusable all of the nails she "fixed" we're crooked way longer than the others and are all over just awful! I'm warning everyone not to go there. I don't have the time or patience to go every week because she has messed up. I am posting pictures below for you all to see please SHARE so no one else has to go through this... Not to mention my best friend went right after me and hers have fallen complete off we never plan on returning to William Charles salon!! On another note two days after she "fixed" them they are all coming off again. I'm appalled NEVER will I ever go there again. Please don't waste your money. William Charles Salon in Fair Oaks is beautifully decorated, inviting full-serve very accommodating salon. Bright and cheery with a nice mix of modern and romance. A tasty selection of refreshments are offered complements of the salon. The place is sparkling clean and centrally located in Old Fair Oaks. The stylists are talented professionals and produce beautiful results. The reason for 1 star; the owner is a nosy gossip, rather dramatic and everything is a crisis! I've shockingly overheard him talking unfavorably about other people on more than one occasion and openly complain about day-to-day challenges as if the "sky were falling" in an unreasonable display of emotional theatrics. Even though Charles appears as charming, the negatives outweigh this appearance. This type of behavior is expected from my 10 year old daughter but not from a business owner. I was referred by a co-worker to get my "color fixed". I had been thru a few "color experts" and needed help. The referral did come with a small degree of warning that the owner is a bit of a gossip-monger which I chose to ignored. I thought the comment was harsh and considered the source. After a few visits, I came away thinking the statement was dead-on if not understated. Although I've never had a better cut or color EVER and I enjoyed the ambiance looking forward to a relaxing service, as time wore on, it became obvious it wasn't worth spending two hours laced with unneeded drama! The moodiness was unpredictable and sometimes things were more calm than others. I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt for a few visits and try to meditate thru it but the salon is small and difficult to block out other conversations or rantings!! I also thought that the owner would realize he was unconsciously chasing off customers. (My co-worker also stopped seeing Charles and so has the referral I sent to the salon). My last visit was the turning point and I am in search of a new colorist...not easy especially for course graying hair. read more

Joshua is AMAZING. I have FINALLY found a stylist that I want to stay with FOREVER! I had always heard of people having "their" stylist.... and in the meantime, I would go to a person once, or twice, and never return because I didn't LOVE my hair. My hair is thick and curly/wavy... So it was easy for stylists to say "no problem, I know how to cut your hair"... and then really leave me with something.... mediocre/ unmanageable... Not until Joshua Jones at William Charles Salon, have I known what it feels like to LOVE my hair. He has done my hair about 6 times now, and I have LOVED my hair ever since that very first time. He gave me a cut for my hair type, face shape, etc- all while listening to what I wanted and adding what I needed. My color is amazing, my cut is FANTASTIC. I've never received so many compliments on my hair, but more importantly, I've never LOVED my hair as much as I do. I highly recommend going to Joshua!!!! It was such a great choice. I am so happy that I found this salon!! I followed Lily, who does my nails, here and found the cutest, cleanest, most adorable salon. I'll never go anywhere else. Charles, one of the owners, is now doing my hair, cut and color. He does a fabulous job, he's reasonably priced and has THE best personality. He gives discounts to students and all three of my daughters now trust him with their hair too. He decorates the shop so beautifully for each holiday, always has fresh water flavored with fruit or cucumbers, they serve you treats, baked goods, etc and have the best selection of hair products I've seen.
