Dr Grimm has been my primary care physician for over twenty years. Concerned, informed and caring.

Superficially, Dr. William Grimm is a kind and compassionate man, unfortunately he is an incompetent medical practitioner and is currently completely overwhelmed by the ongoing COVID pandemic. Let me elaborate. Both my wife and I are previous patients of Dr. Grimm. We paid thousands of dollars just to be able to have him as our GP and were excited to have a "concierge doctor." We were sadly duped. Yes, if you wanted him to prescribe you some prescription cough syrup over the phone or recommend an overpriced "wellness consultant" then he is your man. However, if you are looking for an actual medical professional who knows his field and can provide relevant and constructive advice, look elsewhere. Now for the facts. Below are actual things Dr. Grimm (and/or his office) did: 1) Shut down all through COVID then went on vacation 2 weeks after office reopened. Why not take vacation when your office was closed for a year? We all kept paying... 2) Faked test results. No really, we paid out of pocket for (3) other tests to confirm that the test results my wife was given were completely fabricated. He "isn't sure what happened." That inspires confidence. 3) Lied about COVID deaths. Apparently this is a thing now. People use the tragedy of COVID to cover up for their own incompetence and its disgusting. Multiple times he claimed that "two of my patients died this week from COVID." When pressed, his response was "lots of people are dying from COVID!" True, but it doesn't help them or your patients by using that as an excuse to not do your job. 4) Provided absolutely no help in a fairly serious medical situation. Without getting into details, we needed some legitimate medical help for a life changing condition. (Hence tests above) Dr. Grimm's advice was to "google the test results" as he does not understand them. When pressed about how to interpret and use the $500 test results, he said "you should do what you have been doing if its working." Bottom Line: Don't get duped by this incompetent charlatan and his pretty office, he will not help you get well... but you will spend a lot of money! read more

Been my doctor for 6 years. Amazing man. Like a young country doctor of long ago, but totally on top of his profession. Many times I wait for up to an hour past my appointment time to see him. Why would I put up with that? Because, while the health care providers tell him he can't spend more than 15 minutes with a patient (or is that down to 10 now? ), he pays absolutely no attention to those rules. If he needs 30 - 45 minutes with you, you get it. He listens to your body, he listens to your ills. He talks over a plan with you. If he doesn't know what is wrong, or he needs other opinions, he has a fine roster of referrals he gives to you. I have been referred to several people over the years, and every one, including the lab he uses for bloodwork etc., is just nothing short of stellar. He obviously does his homework (though when he has time to do that is a wonder). Here is a man that embodies the Marcus Welby tradition, and is a total credit to his oath. He has a very good PA (Physician's Assistant) Gordon Sanford (who is way too perfect looking to be a doctor.....no matter how many hours he has worked). Gordon reminds me of the movie doctor. In every scene, even if he has done 26 surgeries and seen 75 patients in a day, looks like a GQ model. Carol, Dr. Grimm's nurse, makes The Amazing Kreskin look like an amateur. How she juggles all the patients, and tasks she has to do in a day, and still keep a warm caring smile on her face, is beyond the perfect Florence Nightengale. She is an angel is the medical world. There is another new 'nurse' in the practice now. She won't last long. She has very poor bedside manner, and is cool and inefficient. I can't remember her name, but I doubt if she will be there by my next visit. I can't imagine such a wonderful practice putting up with the likes of her very long. If you are lucky enough to be able to get into the patient roster of this practice, you have found one of the best on the West Coast. read more

Granted, I have doctor issues - having been repeatedly disappointed in the past. My issue; not the doctor's. However with that said, when one presents as a concierge doctor the patient has expectations that he is being dealt with as if he is shopping in SAKS not at Walmart. Nurse Carol is a love, and it is obvious why she has been with Grimm for 20+ years. She is competent, efficient and answers questions or finds out the answer but when responding -- you can rely on her information. The others -- OY! They seem like ITT Tech dropouts, not close to commensurate with a $2200 entrance fee just for the privilege of being a patient. Apparently calling and asking what the benefits were for the $2200 fee was enough for me to have lowered the collective morale in the office to have been told to go find another doctor. "Because they have bent over backwards and can't make you happy". Mind you, that is bent over backwards for a total of 3 appointments since March! One has to evaluate a practice by considering how the staff treat you. If the doctor permits such colossal inefficiency, and inability to listen to what is being asked -- responsibility then falls on the doctor. In the end, we are consumers. One thing I can say, begrudgingly, because I was so hurt being dismissed, is that Dr. Grimm was fair in making it easier for 100% of my fees paid being refunded by agreeing to it. I'd like to think it is because he too realized we weren't a good fit and because of the shortcomings of his staff. Not the threats of being sued for breach of contract. read more

I have never seen Dr. Grimm since I was under the care of Gordon Sanford PA-C. The care by Gordon Sanford was amazing. I have never felt more taken care of at a medical practice than I have by Gordon Sanford PA-C. Sadly, the practice is changing to a more cash pay type of practice called VIP MD starting this May. I cannot afford $1800 per year for this service. I am so bummed. I will miss Gordon. Someday, if I am wealthier, I will definitely go back. read more

I love Dr. Grimm and his staff- they are always timely, professional and helpful. When Dr. Grimm is with you his attention is on you and I appreciate that and he does care. I love the fact his is a VIP Dr! I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes or so. I would highly recommend this practice and I am not the world's easiest patient. He is well suited to this type of practice and his excellent in his knowledge and care. He LISTENS-which is pretty amazing these days with regular health care they just want to give you some big pharma and move you on. read more

I used to go to Dr. Grimm and like everyone, he is wonderful, but was forced to STOP due to his $2,200 fee. If healthcare wasn't expensive already, it is SAD to see doctors forcing good patients to pay their monthly premium ON TOP OF A $2,200 FEE. read more

I can't even begin to explain how much I love Dr. Grimm and his office staff. At first I saw Gordon his assistant and just like David B said, I felt like I was on an episode of Greys Anatomy. He looked like a TV doctor so I was a little intimidated. He put me right at ease and was great. He left to go work with doctors I think in Hati or some other impovershied country. I have now been seeing Dr. Grimm. He is wonderful, I can't say enough nice things about him. I have been very sick and we can't seem to find the cause even after hundreds of tubes of blood and tests, but he has not given up. When you become a member of his practice you get his personal cell in case of emergency and even though I hate to bother him late at night or on weekends, he has always answered and called in prescriptions for me or helped me when I had an alergic reaction to a medication. I don't have health insurance and he understands that and is always trying to help me with specialists who will take me without insurance. I never feel rushed when I see him like I have with other Doctors. He listens to you and takes his time with you. I am from Boston where we have the best hospitals and doctors in the country but none have ever treated me with respect, caring and kindness that Dr.Grimm has. I absolutely love him and his staff. I relocated to Palm Springs from another major So. Cal City and was referred to Dr. Grimm's practice. Of all four visits I have made his office I have never been seen by Dr. Grimm and have only been seen only by his Physician's Assistant. The office staff was cold, indifferent, and never even asked how I even came to choose their practice. This "mood" seems to permeate the practice. At my request and with a signed release, I understood that the office would request copies of pertinent medical records from my previous out of town physician. I assumed that this had occurred and that the review of my medical history was the basis for subsequent decisions made regarding my continued care at this new office. After a number of "mis-communications" from this medical practice, having my prescriptions screwed up by the Physician's Assistant and experiencing what I considered to be the worst medical attention I've ever recieved, I decided to change my choice of medical practice. I went to Dr. Grimm's office and requested copies of my medical records to take to my new physician's office. I expected that the records forwarded from my previous physican would be included in my records. I was surprised and dismayed to find out that the records for which I had signed a release from my previous physician had, in fact, never been requested and did not exist in my file. Anomylies identified in recent blood work requested by this practice were never relayed to me with any recommedations for appropriate behavioral changes. Visiting this practice made me feel as though I was just another of the many "cattle" that they "processed". In sharing my experience of this practice with local freinds, I was surprised at how many of them have heard the same complaints about this practice. I have since found a far more caring, attentive, and truly professional physician who treats me with care and respect. read more

My story has been waiting to be told for many years. Now that I'm moving out of Palm Springs I feel it's time to tell it. It is a long and tedious story so I'll try and stick to a few points. I did my homework carefully before moving to PS and Dr. Grimm appeared to be a competent M.D. Appearance's can be deceiving. After a number of visit's where I was kept waiting for over an hr., he personally recommended I take his 1st appt so as not to have a long wait. The 1st time I did that,he still was over 45 mins. late-breezed thru his waiting room with a large Starbuck's,proferred no excuse or apology. An" I'm sorry " would have cost him nothing and earned him some respect.I'm talking about appt.'s made mos. in advance,not emergencies. On other occasions when I did need to be seen on short notice,I was sent to his P.A. who was even worse. There were no other patient's coming or going from the office. Again,no,"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting". 45 mins or longer when you aren't feeling well is unacceptable . They don't work a five day wk and close for 2 hr lunches. I'm from NYC-never heard of such a thing,you would be out of business in no time-Dr.'s and pretty much all professional's have lunch on the go and keep working-almost alway's a 5 day wk. Dr. Grimm often encouraged me to communicate with him by email if I had any question's or concerns. After multiple attempt's and never having received a response out of desperation I sent him an email when I was having a personal problem which required a referral. My email was printed and left on a stack of paper's in his reception area where anybody,staff or a patient might see it. It was of a very personal nature. A Dr. who was sharing office space there saw it and took the time and trouble to call and inform me of it. I was angry and embarrassed.And still never a response from Grimm.At that point,I started to see the other Dr.who eventually left. When Grimm went to concierge practice,I was besieged with mail,phone calls etc. after explaining multiple time's that he was no longer my physician and that I wasn't interested. I can afford it but the level of service was so poor,only a fool would pay extra for that. I received a letter to come and get my file since I was no longer his patient. When I first moved to PS I brought with me my file which contained over 20 yrs of everything medical including some scans and tests which were important to me. When I went to collect my file(which I was charged for!) I was given approximately 6 sheets of paper. I asked for the rest and also for a call from Grimm. After multiple attempt's and no response,I was informed my original file containing yrs. of material had been destroyed. I was never told that if I wanted it,I should come and get it. Twenty plus yrs. vanished with no apology or explanation. Another piece of this was after multiple visits complaining of waking up with a headache every morning-his advice was to go to a chiropractor. That was very bad advice. Then 10 sessions of phys. therapy. I'm all for a holistic approach but with an on going complaint and no relief I came to the realization that he either didn't care or was incompetent. Finally went to a specialist in LA and found I had something called cervical stenosis. I was treated,got better in a matter of day's and left wondering how anybody could listen to a yr of the same complaint and be so utterly clueless and unprofessional.It never occurred to him to maybe suggest an x-ray or an MRI. I could rage on but have hopefully made my point. I think he's a terrible Dr.-much more concerned with keeping up a certain image(Tom Ford -the designer) come's to mind) than in maintaining the oath Dr.'s take. I grew up in medical family-this kind of stuff was unthinkable.I would strenuously discourage anybody considering him to look elsewhere. This practice and this man are the essence of mediocrity-I'd hazard a guess that in almost any other place,he would be laughed out of practice. And in closing, I live where I drive by his office daily-it doesn't look at all busy,parking lot is empty and I suspect he may be phasing out of practice and in to retirement. Wow , the fact that I have top healthcare and then have to pay an annual membership fee of $2,220 to see the doctor once or twice a year. No way !! Can healthcare and greedy doctors create a more unaffordable system. Probably but this is a joke as it is ! read more

Absolutely worst medical care office I have ever visited and I've been to a few. Went to Dr. Grimm as a new patient and was never seen by the doctor although I had many appointments with the practice. Was always pawned off on the physician assistant. As a newly diagnosed HIV patient I thought I might actually get to confer with the doctor. What a surprise! Always had to wait to get an appointment and then wait for some time in the office once I got there. The only thing fast about the practice is how they make sure they get their co-pays immediately. Changed doctors and they would not release my records to the new docotor. I had to pay for a document retrieval and a per page copy fee to get my records. After I paid the fees they never called me back for my records. After 3 weeks I called and they said they could not find my records. Finally received my records after a month. I have never met Dr. Grimm but would have to say he is the most uncaring, greedy person I've come across. Also heard they went to a private practice charging $1800.00 additional per year. For what? To be treated like this without any sense of compassion or common decency. Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor who actually cares a damn about his patients. read more
