So, I'm from Virginia and was in town visiting relatives in Scarborough for Christmas. I wanted to get massages for my wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law and had no idea where to take them. I found tons of spas in downtown Toronto using Google, but wanted to find something closer. Saw the sign for this place as I was driving along Kingston and decided to drop in. Oh how lucky I was! I was greeted right away by the owner (William) and I booked 3 appointments. Sis-in-law and wife opted for facials instead of massages. They raved about the service and have been looking for a place exactly like this (superior quality of the procedure and extractions)! In the DC area, we've had no luck... Every spa/salon we've tried only performed minor extractions (not worth the price of the facial). My wife also decided to get a haircut while she was waiting for her facial. She told me that she got one of the best haircuts she's ever received! She said William was awesome and now her hair has more volume and the style is better suited to her hair's natural curliness. My brother-in-law and I were so impressed that we both decided to get haircuts as well. Our stylist, Karelia, was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Started off with a relaxing scalp massage and then got one of THE BEST haircuts in my 38 years of life! I have a stubborn cowlick that she addressed and she even trimmed my caveman eyebrows LOL. Seriously though, now i'm pissed because I have yet to find a place like this in my area. Great positive energy from the owner and all the employees of this establishment. William Tissert Salon & Spa - Two extremely happy customers! - Hair Salons Near Me - Pickering, Ontario

I've been to this Salon about 5 times and they always did an okay job for the price. Well, the last time was a different story and my last time there. They bleached my hair / roots so much that my scalp & ear got burnt & half of my hair fell off! They put my already blonde / fragile hair under the heat with tons of bleach on it. What did they think would happen? No one even came to check on me while I was under the heat. My ear was so red and hurting that I got out from underneath myself. They had absolutely no remorse even after seeing my hair breaking off while brushing. And on top of it, they still charged me full price! I've been nursing my hair back to life for 9 weeks since but unfortunately I will have to cut half of it off to make it look somewhat decent again. I wouldn't recommend this salon for blondes unless you want them to burn your hair off. read more

Love, love, love this place! William and his staff are fantastic! Great atmosphere, super talented, and there's really not much more to say about it. From the incredibly clean shop to the top notch equipment, the extra touches like lattes and shoulder massages, it's all just icing on the cake of a perfect cut and color and makes the 2-hour drive from Crystal Beach totally worth it. I am looking for a new stylist close to my home, and after reading the reviews here I decided to give them a try. I called on Thursday and got an appointment with Karelia, a senior stylist, this afternoon. When I arrived, I was greeted very warmly by Olivia who was taking care of reception, and she took me to the back for my shampoo. What a shampoo it was! A wonderful and thorough shampoo followed by an awesome scalp and neck massage, then I was off to Karelia's chair. She spoke to me for about 10 minutes, asking about my morning routine and what I typically do with my hair (I need to be able to put it back in a ponytail but I also love wearing it down). She saw right away that my hair was looking tired and was crying out for her scissors. After giving her the green light to do whatever she felt would be best, she expertly cut off about 3 inches of hair and layered it beautifully. She cleaned up my bangs and made a simple change to how my hair is parted which helped blend my existing blonde highlights so they went from chunky to evenly spread out. My hair is now bouncy and full of sass, and I'm already looking forward to going back and letting her have her way with the colour. Everyone at the salon was extremely friendly and welcoming. I believe I said hello to every employee, and it was a very relaxing experience. The salon isn't large which makes moving from station to station a bit tight if it's busy, but that is a minor thing when the experience and the professionalism is that good. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a change and a fresh perspective on their hair. read more

I explained my story to them and they spent so much time on my mother and I and it was reasonably priced (and worth every penny) and you feel as though you are in a very relaxed, professional spa with the best service. I have never been to a salon quite like this before, and I feel I just have to share my amazing 5-star experience. After 7 years with another hairdresser in The Beach, I finally decided to find someone closer to home in Pickering. I've had a few bad haircuts in my life, so once I find someone I like I tend to be pretty loyal, but the distance but just getting too inconvenient since having kids. I met William this morning and I must say not only is he warm and personable, he truly listens to you and personalizes your experience to the fullest. His staff are all friendly and the salon has a comfortable and positive atmosphere. William is extremely knowledgeable and will feed you with information so you walk out of there just as smart as he is. They also offer a hair workshop which I highly recommend. Had a blow out a while back, the end result was great but the lady burned my scalp a couple of times and she wasn't that friendly, she just kept saying my hair is dry and I need a hair cut. Also the shampoo girl was a bit too rough for something that should be relaxing. All in all it was an okay experience, the salon itself in terms of decor was alright, and I enjoyed my water with lemon! read more

Great atmosphere, patient stylists who listen to concerns and offer detailed explanations. Shampoo included a fantastic scalp and neck massage. Didn't feel rushed. Staff were friendly and professional. Although I was initially taken aback by the price of the haircut, once I factored in the individual attention and the service (which included amazing coffee), definitely worth the overall experience, especially for a 'curly girl' who has a hard time getting a decent cut and style.
